Here www.indy100.com/article/trans-lives-matter-shon-faye-juno-dawson-riley-carter-india-willoughby-travis-alabanza-annie-wallace-8099866

What can 'cis' people do to be better allies to transpeople in 2018.

I don't even know where to start with this.

That's the Guardian and the Independent off my list now. Politically homeless and driven to reading The Times.

Just to be clear Lunar - we need to be mindful of posting in an anonymous forum just so we don't trigger your anxiety

However, women who have been raped or sexually assaulted should just get over their anxiety when having intimate gynacolgial procedures performed?

Duly noted.

QuentinSummers · 01/01/2018 14:56

But then MN is the place where posters were openly advocating for legislation forcing women to carry mandatory proof of gender cards necessary to gain access to things like public toilets (even though this would put women at risk of rape if they forgot their card), then spent the next six months staunchly lying that such a thread had ever existed.
What a load of arse

Ereshkigal · 01/01/2018 14:56

So you don't have a comment to make about the Daily Mail not seeking consent and - essentially - engaging in 'revenge porn'?

You're a transactivist aren't you? It is nothing like "revenge porn". FTM youtuber Alex Bertie published topless pictures on their public website. Alex Bertie identifies as a boy, boys are often topless. Alex Bertie only had a problem with it because the article was trans critical. Some hard of thinking trans activists called it "revenge porn". I hate the term revenge porn but it is when private intimate pictures intended only for the receiver are shared online. Not when someone you don't like reproduces your public pictures.

Ereshkigal · 01/01/2018 14:58

Shon Faye tries my soul. He is the absolute epitome of bourgeois male entitlement. It flows from every pore. Ugh. If there was ever an argument against trans ideology, it's him.

YY. He reads out our comments at "comedy" shows he does, btw.

QuentinSummers · 01/01/2018 14:59

Tbh I thought the article was a Mermaids PR piece. There was a lot of suggesting good allies should donate to Mermaids. And all the usual Bingo phrases ("authentic self", "wrong side of history").
I cannot take anything Travis Alabanza says seriously, he's the UK answer to Danielle Muscato and I think featuring him does more harm than good. Especially with his "campaign" for money for taxis as public transport is too dangerous. Snort.

Ereshkigal · 01/01/2018 15:00

They're all shilling for Mermaids. It truly will be another Kids Company scandal at some point. They are awful.

Hahaha that old chestnut again. Tedious.

QuentinSummers · 01/01/2018 15:06

I thought I recognised the journo, it's the guy who did this terrible tweet

catgirl1976 · 01/01/2018 15:08

Oh my word. I didn't realise it was him

He got rightfully owned for that tweet as I recall

In his timeline someone has called a drag queen friend of his "fishy". Bleuch. Such misogyny. What an idiot.

Ereshkigal · 01/01/2018 15:11

God. Well he can fuck right off for a start. Idiot.

Ekphrasis · 01/01/2018 15:16

(Awesome post @Tringley)

ReanimatedSGB · 01/01/2018 15:44

Oh yeah, that tweet. Not only completely pwned for it, but in a mostly civil, respectful way...

ArcheryAnnie · 01/01/2018 15:57

My point is - why are some feminists prepared to throw something as absolutely fundamental as consent, out of the window when it supports an anti-trans agenda?

Why are some feminists prepared to look the other way when the naked children being exploited are trans?

Sorry, i'm a bit late to this thread, but can I just confirm that the "naked child" being "exploited", all "without their consent" is a twenty-year-old who published the photos themselves on their youtube and in their book, and who wasn't naked, but topless?

Is that correct, @ALunerExplorer ?

LangCleg · 01/01/2018 16:02

Ha! Well, if he wants to mention that whenever he crosses my virtual path I see Flashman in a dress, he can be my guest. Entitled posh boy creeping on women's spaces.

QueenLaBeefah · 01/01/2018 16:11

By trans logic - it was a photo of a top less adult male which isn't considered pornographic anywhere in the world (revenge or otherwise).

Tinycitrus · 01/01/2018 16:12

I’m confused

Was it a naked trans child’ that appeared in the DM? Because if so, they should be censured.

QueenLaBeefah · 01/01/2018 16:17

No it was a 20 years old and the photos were taken from his own blog.

LangCleg · 01/01/2018 16:17

No. Before and after mastectomy as part of transition pictures. After = topless. Before = topless with thick black line blotting out breasts.

UpABitLate · 01/01/2018 16:23

The daily mail printed images of naked children without their consent?

Just want to say not heard about this before and am aghast. Wanted to post before reading the rest of the thread.

UpABitLate · 01/01/2018 16:25

I mean I know the DM are fucking awful and have heard of them printing highly inappropriate pics of older children (usually girls) with sexualised / lechy comments but they've got clothes on.

This is a massive step past even the disgusting things they normally do and I'm just, god that's awful.

I mean they shouldn't even be printing naked images of children WITH their consent TBH, kids can't consent to stuff like that surely. Tiny babies maybe excepted if their parents say it's OK.

Backingvocals · 01/01/2018 16:27

upabit have you read the thread?

UpABitLate · 01/01/2018 16:27

Erm read on a bit, that's a massive misrepresentation of what happened isn't it.

Fucks sake some people.

20 is an adult.

Sam Fox was 16 when she was on page 3, how do you feel about that?

IrkThePurist · 01/01/2018 16:28

UpABitLate No, they reposted pictures of a 20 year old TIM.
The pictures originally came from their social media account and showed them post mastectomy.
