Thread came to an end. But I wanted to reply to Debbie.

Your transman in the cowboy hat?

It really it really is the height of enough to actually leverage the damage that the trans ideology does to try and get women to capitulate to it.

We are telling you how detrimental this is to women, including transmen, and you’re actually using it as a ner ner moment?

It’s beyond parody. And very deceitful.

"The level of vitriol on here towards transgender people..."

Not transgender people. Men who abuse women.

"is not proportionate to the threat posed by this minuscule minority of men."

How do you square "minuscule minority" with the fact that almost every woman has experienced some kind of male sexual harassment and violence? It's a minority of men but not minuscule. Unfortunately.

Datun · 19/12/2017 15:01

I have personally witnessed the violence of men claiming to be women. At speakers corner.

It took a long time for the police to do anything about it. They didn’t really want to know.

But it’s not enough, is it? The terf is a slur website? The website this never happens? The two videos listing the offences? The database of men identify as women committing offences?

The number of sex offenders identifying as women in prison?

The Swedish study that showed men identifying as women retain male pattern criminality?

Why is it not enough?

Why is no longer no?

Why is the utter disrespect for women brushed over by people like perfectly and Debbie in their scramble to pander to male feelings?

BertrandRussell · 19/12/2017 15:09

Oh ffs, somebody isn’t going on about vitriol again are they?

Report, report, report.if you see hate, or vitriol or transphobia just report it and get it deleted.

delurking to say thank you, Datun and others for keeping on putting the case logically and clearly, and defending women's rights against all the goading and nonsensical bs.

Datun · 19/12/2017 15:14

Seconded. I mostly lurk here. This thread and the other has been heartening and informative.

The level of vitriol on here towards transgender people...

Why are you still deliberately making false allegations of transphobia, perfectly? What do you hope to achieve by this?

perfectly · 19/12/2017 17:27

Sorry to be pedantic but none of these men / trans people who have committed offences have done so in female spaces.

I am not denying there are some wrong'uns out there who have done terrible things. I still fail to see why trans women should not access female facilities because a few trans people did some awful things outside female spaces.

jellyfrizz · 19/12/2017 17:32

I still fail to see why trans women should not access female facilities because a few trans people did some awful things outside female spaces.

Because they are not female.

Why do you think there are areas segregated by sex? Are they no longer necessary?

jellyfrizz · 19/12/2017 17:35

How many trans women in the UK are abused in male spaces?

perfectly · 19/12/2017 17:36

jellyfrizz this is why we keep going around in circles. If you fail to acknowledge that the phenomenon of being transgender exists then I understand the reluctance to share women's spaces. But the law, the NHS and countless testaments have showed it does exist. Therefore as a civilised society we should be obliged to respect that and treat trans women as women.

Lancelottie · 19/12/2017 17:38

Perfectly, the statement 'transwomen are not female' is the very basis of the statement that transwomen exist.

If they were 'female women', they wouldn't be transwomen.

jellyfrizz · 19/12/2017 17:39

I believe the phenomenon of being transgender exists. I do not believe this makes you change sex.

WTAFisthisshit · 19/12/2017 17:39

Perfectly Please answer

If a woman does not consent to to a transwoman or man being in a single sex space with her but the transwoman or man wants to be there, should they be there?

If a woman does not want a man to have sex with her, should he have sexy with her? Should he be denied his right to sex?

No Trumps yes. Every. Fucking. Time.

And the lurkers know that or they wouldn't be lurking on the feminist board.

Lurkers once you've written to your MP please complete this:

Nuffaluff · 19/12/2017 17:39

perfectly This is going round and round and round in circles.
What is the point? People are saying again and again. This is about predatory men who will, absolutely will, take advantage of self-ID. Who will say they are trans or actually be trans (because how can you say they aren't really trans if they claim to be?).
That is why we need sex segregated spaces. So many people have said it. Many many times.

irretating · 19/12/2017 17:40

Glory be, you mean safe spaces work to keep women safe from those who would do them violence. Who'da thunk it.

Lancelottie · 19/12/2017 17:41

I'd say it's actually:
'Therefore as a civilised society we should be obliged to respect that and treat transwomen as respectfully as any other man.'

irretating · 19/12/2017 17:45

How do you treat somebody like a woman without reference to sexist stereotypes?

jellyfrizz · 19/12/2017 17:47

'Therefore as a civilised society we should be obliged to respect that and treat transwomen as respectfully as any other man.'

Yes. Transwomen should be able to use the toilet for their sex without fear of abuse. Deal with the cause of the abuse.

It is not just for safety reasons that women have separate toilets, it is also biological - period bins and tampax machines, sitting down to wee etc.

perfectly · 19/12/2017 17:48

WTAF I am pretty sure if I was in a ladies loo with you right now I would hope you would leave. If anyone actually tried to kick you out I would fight your corner shouting louder than anyone you had every right to stay.

Judge the person, not the clothes they are wearing.

I'm not going to answer the rape question and I have no idea how you think I would ever condone that.

jellyfrizz · 19/12/2017 17:52

Judge the person, not the clothes they are wearing.

Absolutely. Males should be able to use male facilities whatever clothes they are wearing without fear of abuse.

perfectly · 19/12/2017 17:53

I actually think we should stop now as any dodgy men lurking on this thread might start getting ideas Sad
