No offense but do you really think I dont realsie that? Im commenting in how ridiculous it is to contemplate having a 19y old male who identifies as a woman in the position of Womans Officer because she is not a woman and doesnt represent my interests. I do however feel sorry for her and think that Trans people do need representation so am querying why the Labour Party dont have both positions so that both separate groups van be represented without the Trans agenda pushing out women's experience, again.

Caught the end.

I thought Madigan came across very very poorly.

As to child protection - yes it should be applied to younger people as I think this whole trans ideology is threatening people and taking away their innocence and childhood.

I agree Madigan appears vulnerable.

I certainly can't see any true representation of women being had.

I thought the interviewer was ok.

Surely there is no way that madigan has the gumption to be a MP.

Also did she really put the blame for the twitter account with rape jokes on her younger brother? I mean I really feel for Madigan's family.

Response the the attacks was poor from Madigan - lit is obvious she can not represent women - obvious - clear as day.

I recall that she said something along the lines of there are different ways to respond and violence is never the answer.

I am sure someone can paraphrase better.

Honestly really do feel for Madigan - I feel thirst Madigan is someone who enjoys making YouTube videos and like people being interested in whatever Madigan does.

I would love to hear the perspective of ordinary girls who went to her school as it is just amazing the interest in Madigan - meanwhile we have girls who can not afford tampons.

Flomper, they do have both roles (well, LGBT, but that only seems to mean trans at the moment).

Lily didn't go for the trans role, I'm guessing because it wasn't validating enough of her wish to be seen as, and supplant, a woman.

It anyone can post a link that that would be good.

Flomper, I apologise if I misunderstood.

So I am a bit confused what you are saying. If you know Lily won't take a trans post then I don't know how it would help to have one? and maybe they have one anyway?

Flomper · 06/12/2017 20:25

So we could have a situation where the LGBT officer and the Woman's officers could all be men?

I take it theres no need for a Men's officer? What a joke.

Of course it would help. There should be positions to represent each distinct group. Its the insistence by the trans activists that the 2 are the same and that their experiences are the same that I, and most people on this thread surely, object to. I also object to a biological male being allowed to run for Woman's Officer. Much like the US president having to be born in the US, I think the rules should state you have to be a biological woman. Its the ridiculous PC kowtowing to the trans activists that has got us, and the Labour Party, into this mess. And poor Lily isnt ready to represent anyone except herself, clearly.

There has to be safeguarding issues on this? It was awful to watch.

I cannot believe this person was voted in as a woman's officer. WTAF is going on?

'People will see that he’s just a petulant attention seeking teenage boy with identity issues. And not a fucking woman.'

Completely spot on. He came across as an entitled teenage boy without a clue.

I'm so sick of this shit, I really am. All the gaslighting by a bunch of spoiled narcissistic men. And bollocks to the Labour party for entertaining this nonsense (I'm a Labour voter though no Corbynista)

I'm sorry, I'm totally lost. How would it help? Lily wants to be Woman's Officer, not trans officer. That is what many of us are objecting to.

So how would Trans roles help when biological men actively want to take women's roles?

Thanks whazzy. I had assumed Lily would duck the question or blame both sides, in many ways the answer given is a very bland policitican type response. I'd agree with other posters who said that, although clearly very nervous, there was obviously a fair amount of preparation beforehand.

Well I’m going to run for trans officer.

Can anyone justify why I can’t?

Report
ThatEscalatedQuickly · 06/12/2017 20:47

Because you've had no lived experience as a trans person Hiding. Of course the logic doesn't apply in reverse, because trans women are women from the moment of birth, according to the argument of TRAs. Neat isn't it?

Report
AnachronisticCorpse · 06/12/2017 20:47

I think that’s the way forward. Have a woman as the Trans officer, one who will centre women’s issues and who has only a vague notion of what it’s like to be trans.

Nonsense of course, but seems to be very persuasive amongst certain circles.

Take one of the SAGE online tests first, Hiding. I can't remember exactly which one it was that identified every MNer (bar about two) as being trans and/or possibly intersex, on the grounds of not being overexcited by the thought of housework. Confused

Lancelottie
I break out in a cold sweat at the thought of ironing. I wonder if that counts.
