I've only skim read it but they don't seem to have included Female Genital Mutilation on their list of bad things done to bodies. Interesting!

These are all very knee jerk 'terfy' responses to what is a very modest and humble list of asks. It's important to interrogate the origins of your empathy based phobia of rapists/murderers! A careful examination of your inbuilt prejudice against transformative violence and research grants, followed by a reread of this glorious manifesto, will surely change your minds.

Polly is right though, it would definitely benefit from free kittens.

Perhaps it isn't real. We have been taken in before. But the cultish burning righteousness is in line with their views on punching women.

We need free, universal access to safe hormones & blockers at any age, the opportunity to decide our own doses, and universally accessible information on the safety & efficacy of different regimens. We are already taking hormones in this way, so this demand is simply that the danger of doing so is effectively mitigated"

But if they are going to decide their own doses, how will they know it is safe.

This part made me think of kids like Jazz Jennings. I hope they do get full accountability for what's been done to them. Although that's the exact opposite of what this tranifesto's thinking of.

The comments were great though. I liked this one:

We demand the right to multiple surgeries, including reversal of previous surgeries if desired, so that we do not have to fear regret.

They can't - surgeons are already very carefully walking a line when just doing repair work, let alone re-modelling someone's vulva into a faux penis. Because it's a cultural practise, it's had to be outright banned, as getting a girl and her parents to tell a court that she wanted it done would't be a problem.

Perhaps the only sensible thing in the manifesto!

Then on the very next line:

Who do they think makes these hormones and blockers?

I demand the right to go into other people's houses, eat all their porridge and sleep in their beds. And I will get it, you see if I don't! And if you you horrid people don't let me do that I'll scream and scream and scream until I'm sick.

In other words, they have no final objective, and as soon as we concede to one set of demands they'll come up with some more.

Yes I wondered if this er 'manifesto' has been written as that group's submission to the NHS consultation which Elan has linked to above. Which is 100% serious and is intended to guide NHS funding policy and services for trans adults.

I thought you were all being unkind about that manifesto. However, having read it, it's fucking bonkers. I don't even know where to begin, but it's very me, me, me - greedy for resources, education (medical training ffs!) and medical procedures which there are whole other populations with serious medical needs for similar procedures that aren't being met. The resources of our NHS are finite and I have no problem with trained medics gate-keeping.
