I, too, would not wish harm on anyone, but the further you chase this ideology down, the more it seems to me that the overwhelming majority of transwomen really do have an agenda.

They may not be violent, they may not all have AGP but they all use women to some degree or another.

We are there to be utilised.

seafoodeatit · 09/03/2017 13:18

The green party is such a betrayal to me, I was a paid up member and thought finally a party that represents me, I genuinely feel like there is no political party for me anymore, makes me wish I was right leaning!

Brytie · 09/03/2017 14:01

Stopmakingsense I found that chilling as well. Whilst I am thrilled the government has finally agreed to making SRE compulsory in all state schools, I am rather afraid that this kind of teaching resource might end up in more schools. The Trans lobby are certainly going to ensure they shape the curriculum to favour their stance.

Bambambini · 09/03/2017 14:34

Well i've spoken out at last as was afraid to previously. Husband already gets it but 3 friends yesterday and diffent 3 friends today. Relief to realise they all think it's madness and dangerous madness at that.

Datun · 09/03/2017 15:12

Bamb - send them this link. As a poster is saying on the other thread:

"That CPS pack was the final straw for me.
How dare they teach my daughter she has a pink lady brain?

How dare they tell her not wanting to undress in front of a man is a hate crime?

How dare they tell her is shes decides to be lesbian she can still give blow jobs?

In the words of Mrs. Weasley...
Not my daughter, you bitch."

Am I supposed to know who Jenni Murray is?

FlaviaAlbia · 09/03/2017 15:29

Interesting first post user Hmm

Yy BenLinus my brother is a liberal lefty who works in the arts. Politically, if there's a minority he'll take their side and thinks I'm bigoted for not laying out the red carpet for self identification. However, he doesn't have much respect for women generally and is forever talking down to his wife so somehow it's not a surprise.

LumelaMme · 09/03/2017 15:30

If you don't, user, Google is that way =>

Seriously, Jenni Murray is a very well-known broadcaster.

FlaviaAlbia · 09/03/2017 15:32

Don't waste your breath Lumela Wink

MinimumPaymentMaximumBurrito · 09/03/2017 15:36

No, user when you live under a bridge, it's doubtful that your world would be big enough to include the likes of JM.

seafoodeatit · 09/03/2017 15:44

YY to google.

I'm also Hmm at anyone who challenges gender norms, I mean, clearly I already know deep down I'm a man thanks to PCOS.

this clearly flies in the face of anti-bullying campaigning, or is that going to change now?

Who's going to want to challenge norms if your gender is going to come into question?

Isaintheshop · 09/03/2017 15:57

Am I too late to be Jenni too? I had assumed the BMA pregnant people was a load of froth but it has increasingly riled with me that its ok to erode women and our place in society.

microferret · 09/03/2017 16:45

holy shit. that article on SRE is terrifying. And then I just saw this

transgender-uber-alles.tumblr.com/post/141385666859/trans-women-shouldnt-tell-people-theyre-trans

I feel sick

What are we doing behind computer screens? We should be on the streets. We have to do something. This is not going away, we can't wait for the tide to turn, we have to turn it ourselves... How can we organise?

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 09/03/2017 17:16

Micro - my jaw is on the floor. Bloody hell.

Handmaideny apologists - please read micro's link. This is a transactivist in his own words, saying he slapped a lesbian for taking exception to him having a penis - after he'd performed a sex act on her by deception.

Not only am I outraged for women everywhere, I feel so sorry for genuine trans people with body dysmorphia, trying to do the best they can in difficult circumstance - because the backlash against this when people finally realise what's going on is going to be huge.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 09/03/2017 17:51

To be fair... the comments under that post seem to suggest it's a troll, and I really hope it is.

The Transgender Trend link seems, on the other hand, all too frighteningly real.

KindDogsTail · 09/03/2017 17:52

Datun
I read that link.

They talk about the wiring if the brain of transpeople being different from the rest of the population. I looked up some reports on research that is still in early stages. Some white matter in a particular region in transmen (female to male), who have not been treated, is more like a male's white matter in that particular region. Some white matter in the same region of Transwomen (male to female) is half way between being like a male's and a like a female's.

People are interested to see if scanning would show whether children need early treatment to change. But in the article it says, Guillamon thinks such scans may not help in all cases “Research has shown that white matter matures during the first 20 to 30 years of life,” he says. “People may experience early or late onset of transsexuality and we don’t know what causes this difference.”www.newscientist.com/article/dn20032-transsexual-differences-caught-on-brain-scan/

The different brain scans do not in themselves prove anything yet in my opinion.

Other people have different wiring from the usual patterns too. For example, it has been shown that paedophiles seem to have different wiring www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-34858350. Psychopaths do.

Perhaps people with body dysmorphia in the form of anorexia have their own distinctive wiring.news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7120564.stm

What is it supposed to mean? In these instances, does it mean a disruption or does it need affirming? Were they born with it or did it develop because of experience in the womb or after birth?

Here is an article about baby girls' and boys' brains.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-29405467

The CPS has no right to just put these guidelines on gender out for children as facts. The bias and presumptions are extreme. It would be interesting to find out who wrote it.

microferret · 09/03/2017 18:00

Seek, thanks for pointing that out. I feel a lot better knowing that it didn't actually happen (hopefully). I was starting to feel really frightened and upset.

PrinceHansOfTheTescoAisles · 09/03/2017 18:16

Shock...that is all I have re micro's link. Just Shock

PrinceHansOfTheTescoAisles · 09/03/2017 18:24

Oh thank goodness it's a troll

StiginaGrump · 09/03/2017 18:41

There is so much bollocks with this - I believe so much in kindness to anyone but not at the expense of the very concept of woman.

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 09/03/2017 18:47

Thank goodness it's a troll - but it's so hard to tell. I was pretty convinced for a long time that Danielle Muscato must be trolling - but if they are, they're playing the really, really long game.

BenLinusatemyhomework · 09/03/2017 18:50

Blurgh - the gif at the end of that blog is truly revolting.

Elendon · 09/03/2017 18:52

Is someone really suggesting 'wiring of the brain' regarding wanting to change gender? In a scientific way? In a serious way? And getting tax payer's money for it? I think this should be investigated.

Why not bring on flat earthers, climate change deniers and the earth is only 4,000 years old.

Can you image the outrage if your child came back to say that a person had a talk in school today to tell us that the earth is only 4,000 years old, we walked with dinosaurs and the earth is flat?

Elendon · 09/03/2017 19:00

Actually, you know what? I may put in a bid for climate change denial, the earth is flat and only 4,000 year's old. And peddle this alternative view around schools.

I may be away for some time...

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 09/03/2017 19:01

Time for the d-value plot again (I think this issue cannot get enough of an airing). As Lise Elliot explains in "Pink Brain, Blue Brain" (she's a neuroscientist, btw, with a long established career, specialising in the plasticity of brain development) insofar as anyone has ever managed to measure cognitive differences between the sexes (and there aren't many studies which stand up to scrutiny of their methods and statistical analysis that do), the d values - the measure of the difference in means of the male and female populations relative to the spreads of each population - are tiny. Less than 0.5. Look at that picture. Concentrate on the distributions with d-value of 0.5. Are you really going to say on the basis of that, that one could pick a test of cognitive performance and unambiguously identify the test subject as male or female? You couldn't do it. And even allowing for the tiny difference between averages, such is the plasticity of the brain, and the well-documented differences in the way girls and boys are treated from early infancy, that you could not answer the nature versus nurture issue. There would be know way of knowing whether the tiny differences in performance were because of genetics or because of social influences.

There is no such thing as a "female brain", a "pink brain" or any of the other shit that gets bandied around.
