The link is a big collection of how many trans activists responded to the women's March.

I must admit, I've had a good chuckle at some of these!

And the transwomen don't start shouting about their balls being excluded.

venusinscorpio · 31/01/2017 11:35

No they don't. How odd. It's almost as if it's really all about silencing women and keeping them in their place, rather than "intersectionality".

BitOutOfPractice · 31/01/2017 12:04

Funny that!

As someone said earlier on this thread:

Just like the old boss

Just seen this. The crazies really are out in force aren't they. Meanwhile, thousands of transwomen marched alongside women and not a single fuck was given about the supposed 'transphobia'. WHY can people not see that transactivism harms females, AND trans women. Why so much support when its basically a bunch of blokes saying effectively...women shut the fuck up I know better than you. Why the push for erasure of biology when biology is the very reason women and girls worldwide suffer? Yes trans people will suffer their own discrimination, but it is not the same. Just like its not the same as the discrimination gay people face. Why latch onto other peoples fights then demand they centre you? Whats wrong with your own movement (which I assume many non trans people would support also..I know I would)

Its horrific really. Transactivism helps noone besides a few blokes on a power trip.

Bambambini · 02/02/2017 00:11

Tbh, i think many are young, gobby, passionate, angry, confused kids.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/02/2017 00:16

*One of the very first responses I got was "What about male circumcision?"

So I ended up providing the twat with links to male circumcision campaign groups he could support. But I bet he won't bother*

I tend to think that it is the same men who ask questions like this who also patrol us as TRAs and their allies. "What about teh menz and the erosion of their rightful power and privilege" seems to be the fundamental point of each - oh and coincidentally enough also of the MRAs.

CoteDAzur · 02/02/2017 07:06

"like the Balls to Cancer campaign about testicular cancer awareness for example - is raised, I don't feel offended as a women because I don't have testicles"

Ah but the difference is that you are not in the business of gaslighting men to accept that you are a man, just like them, despite the fact that you are XX female.

AskBasil · 02/02/2017 21:01

" Why latch onto other peoples fights then demand they centre you?"

Because a) you don't believe their fight is important or valid in its own right
b) you have no respect for them
c) you have no power to latch on to the powerful people, so you latch onto a group less powerful than you which you can influence and have some control of, in a way you wouldn't have a hope in hell of doing in a more powerful group
d) you believe that your fight is so much more important than their's that you have the right to hijack it
e) you can see that some of its ideas may be useful to you
f) you see that group as being there for your use and believe that their time, energy and talents would be much better spent in your service than in their own and in fact you are entitled to expect that from this group

and

g) you are a total and utter fucking nob.

That's all I can think of for now, but there may be more....

I think this message is very strong. Facts are facts regardless of whether you would like them not to be. Common sense that we could do with now. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154760362430923&id=26806660922

jig

Gosh. Uncanny foresight!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 04/02/2017 12:30

A great man.

Bambambini · 04/02/2017 14:36

The TW who wrote the establushment piece on feeling excluded from the march was venting on twitter about a man joining their office at work and the office language having to change to accommodate this one man. Alrighty then!

It's clear that person was brought up as male and expects to be treated with the same importance now he's a she. And as for "cis" people not noticing? She's got rocks in her head.

venusinscorpio · 04/02/2017 16:31

Yes, thick old cis women. We never notice stuff.

AskBasil · 04/02/2017 16:54

Jesus how fucking oblivious can you be?

Bambambini · 04/02/2017 17:19

Right up there with actress Jen Richards going on a Twitter rant of how transphobic and insulting it was for Matt Bomer to play a TW in his movie, appropriating the lived experience that being trans was.

venusinscorpio · 04/02/2017 17:26

Yes, sense of irony not a strong point with transactivists and their allies.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 04/02/2017 17:49

That business about a man playing a TW in a movie really struck me as absurd. Gosh. A man presenting as a woman playing a man presenting as woman... Woman face, anyone?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 04/02/2017 18:19

Thanks for the link. I read a couple of articles on the topic but not that one. A man could definitely play Jeni Richards too. Those arguments are piffle. The last one - that casting cis people to play trans people causes murders is so preposterous I felt my jaw sag.

And still none of them get that when TW try to pass as women what they're doing is blatant appropriation.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 04/02/2017 18:26

Oh, my God: "Straight men are attracted to trans women. We are some of the most popular sex workers. That's a fact."

Bet a lot of trafficked women wouldn't mind losing custom to keen TW if they wanted the business. But oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be much demand among traffickers for anyone other than women and, tragically, kids.

Datun · 05/02/2017 09:09

First, there's the practical/economic one. It denies actual trans women opportunities, jobs, resources, which hurts entire community.

So someone pretending to be something they're not, is appropriation of that person and a denial of their opportunities.

Ya don't say!

Can anyone enlighten me as to exaxtly why this hypocritical disconnect is such a characteristic of trans-ideology?

Bambambini · 05/02/2017 09:36

"And still none of them get that when TW try to pass as women what they're doing is blatant appropriation."

It's staggering that they can make these claims - actors playing TW, drag quuens daring to appropriate and make a mockery etc. The lack of self awareness is huge.

I did wonder if Richards was committing carreer suicide - taking on Ruffalo and Bommer and unleashing the trans wrath on them but time will tell. It was an interesting few days on Twitter!

Funniest was that their initiall tweets made it seem that they lost out on the lead role to Bommer - but in fact had only auditioned for a minor part as a waitress.

Bambambini · 05/02/2017 09:46

Other point is that if Richards insists that only TW should play TW - does that mean they should ony ever be sble to play TW? Seems a bit limiting careerwise.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 05/02/2017 09:48

I think there are two strands to their fury. The first is jealousy that a man got a part that Jen Richards feels she or another of the small pool of TW actors should have been given. They'd like first dibs on any trans role.

The second concerns the unacknowledged fact that it had to be a male who played the part, whether trans or not. It would never have worked casting a woman in the role because TW so very seldom look like women, particularly those engaged in sex work. Matt
Bomer and Jared Leto are both playing TW sex workers. I used to see TW sex workers in central London and they never looked at all like women. Jared Leto looked pretty close, but perhaps a bit on the demure, ladylike side for her character. I guess that was to enhance the drama and our sympathy with the character, though I found it a rather dull film.
