The link is a big collection of how many trans activists responded to the women's March.

I must admit, I've had a good chuckle at some of these!

how can those responses be read as anything other than men continuing to try and control and police women's behavior and shut women up?

BeMorePanda · 30/01/2017 13:12

you wouldn't believe the hoo ha trans person has kicked off on a sewing group I am in online. (well you probably would). A fucking women's sewing group - for women with bigger bodies who sew their own clothes. Some women in this group have literally had nothing to wear, heave felt body shamed all their lives, and though this amazing supportive nurturing lovely group have taken the fist photographs of themselves in some cases EVER! they ahve started loving their bodies - it has really changed some people lives.

most of the time we talk about how to make adjustments for big butts/boobs/hips and/or arms so we can make clothes that fit.

Its a womens group sewing and support for womens bodies and clothes. A closed moderated group. A truly safe supportive space for women.

A trans person was a member - I think there are several. No one minded, everyone just continued to talking about the sewing. Then the trans-woman's boyfriend applied to join and an admin accepted him by mistake and then realised she had made a mistake and deleted him.

QUEUE SHIT HITTING FAN. the trans woman outraged and then 1000's of women jumping in to rage about all the discrimination and of course men should be allowed else we are discriminating on all the poor chaps who want and should be allowed to be part of a curvy womens sewing group. Tediously horrendous and shocking.

It has seriously fucked the whole thing up. None of these women seemed to realise or care that a man is screaming because his boyfriend is being excluded from a women's space.

A lovely sanctuary on the internet is now as fucked up and hostile as the rest of the place. Bloody shame.

Bambambini · 30/01/2017 14:48

A spokesperson from a transgender support group tells the Mail that the advice to doctors is a "massive step forwards" in preventing discrimination.

Saw the same "massive step forwards" jubilant claims from several very vocal TW when Jillian Bearden placed as first woman in a Arizona road bike race (their team mate also placed 20) . Seems they have put together a TW team to compete in other events.

Very many people are going to hit peak trans-if that's the case.

BeMorePanda that's horrible, I'm so sorry.

Men: waiting for women to build something, then stealing it, forever.

Bambambini · 30/01/2017 21:01

Here's an article covering Jillian and their win, also mentions the Trans woman Team.

Jillian is a cheat. Angry

Bambambini · 30/01/2017 21:46

The transwoman team.

Bambambini · 30/01/2017 21:51

I just don't understand the likes of Jillian and Gabrielle Ludwig, Caroline Layt. How can they not care that the women who they want to be accepted by, the ones they are competing against are in a he main going to have a problem with them?

I can't understand women who think this is good for women and girls, who support them.

AskBasil · 30/01/2017 22:17

"I have emailed and let them know that as a women I would be OFFENDED (as offence seems to be the trump card here, not reality) at being referred to as a pregnant person."

It's only a trump card, when its wielded by XY people.

Women being offended is of no interest at all to the BMA.

HCP's still call me mum when i attend a medical appointment with one of the kids.

I find it offensive. Lots of women find it offensive. It's not my name.

But I doubt if the BMA would give a flying fuck if I told them, much less produce guidance to tell HCP's not to use the term Mum without checking first.

Italiangreyhound · 30/01/2017 23:07

BeMorePanda that is such a shame. Can you resurrect the group under a new name and not I vote the double maker?

ArcheryAnnie · 31/01/2017 00:02

One of the organisers of the Trump Demo in Brighton - someone, naturally, called Ooffii - made a twee little post berating women who might come on it and telling them they weren't allowed to wear pink pussy hats. Bonus more bollocks from her and a couple of other women (all white) that equating "pussy" with "pink" is TOTES RACIST as it excludes women of colour. (Because women of colour don't have vaginas, only evil white feminists? Or the vaginas of women of colour don't matter? We will never know.)

Amazingly, they got called out on it and have backed down. Go, you women of Brighton!

SenecaFalls · 31/01/2017 00:37

Why do they think the hats exclude WOC? Pink was chosen because it is a color associated with women and because the color would stand out in crowds.

My favorite post on that Brighton thread:

Intersectional feminism refers to the analysis of where the oppressions FEMALE PEOPLE experience intersect with other oppressions , most notably RACE and CLASS.

None of these things intersect with being MALE , however oppressed by OTHER MEN .
It's FEMinism as in FEMale .
Not FEMME-inism as in being an e-FEMME-inate MALE .

Step away from "Marxism for dummies" and "how to liberal bestly", and WAKE UP . These people are not your friends as long as you possess a vagina, howevermuch you enable them .

Bambambini · 31/01/2017 07:09

Is the thread still there, couldn't see it.

LumelaMme · 31/01/2017 09:38

It's a bit down the page, Bam.Second post, massive thread.

BeMorePanda · 31/01/2017 10:00

The MOD's of the Curvy Sewing Collective group have now decided to open it to men.

Hopefully it will be OK & it still seems to be a great group. I think the trans/gay/boyfriend thing was more about making a fuss and they don;t want to be that involved anyway.

But I do feel really sad and angry that it now seems completely unacceptable to have a women only space even for something very intimate. The TransRights people (aka MRA's in my opinion) start screaming and the majority of women fall over themselves to prop them up.

Hideous.

BeMorePanda · 31/01/2017 10:04

Men: waiting for women to build something, then stealing it, forever.
Abso-fucking-lutely

Italian it's not my group and I have neither the time or inclination to start one up. It does make me think about less pissing around in FB sewing groups and MORE FEMINIST ACTIVISM though :)

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 31/01/2017 10:31

I shared a petition online recently to support an FGM clinic in danger of closure.

One of the very first responses I got was "What about male circumcision?"

So I ended up providing the twat with links to male circumcision campaign groups he could support. But I bet he won't bother.

venusinscorpio · 31/01/2017 10:43

Panda

That's what these arseholes see as "activism".

BitOutOfPractice · 31/01/2017 11:09

The thing is, when something that is specifically about men's anatomy - like the Balls to Cancer campaign about testicular cancer awareness for example - is raised, I don't feel offended as a women because I don't have testicles. I just think, that's about men's biology, great campaign, move on.
