She's tweeted one message! Keep your hair on.

She's tweeted one message! Keep your hair on

She tweeted several messages on the same theme. I too think she is very brave, some folks are already having a go at her. The TAs don't like anyone who leave their cult.

Chelazla · 22/01/2017 22:16

I agree with bibbity very annoying. It all just seems so attention seeking to me.

Gallavich · 22/01/2017 22:20

Of course it's attention seeking! The whole 'coming out as non binary gender fluid' thing is attention seeking. Unfortunately it's very trendy at the moment and far from harmless. Jack has done something public which is likely to bring her a lot of abuse and harassment; that statement makes her an apostate from a very powerful and very scary religious movement. I am not applauding her bravery, I'm applauding her return to common sense.

TinselTwins · 22/01/2017 22:28

What criticism has she had?

Surely it's an oxymoron for the "you are whatever you say you are" people to tell her she can't say she's a woman?

HelenDenver · 22/01/2017 22:33

This is a good thing.

amispartacus · 22/01/2017 22:49

I wonder if she'll keep taking the testosterone?

I just hope she's happy. This is an article from September. It's very personal.

There's quite a lot of stuff online about how a lot of women suffer from low testosterone even before menopause and could benefit from patches for a variety of symptoms, Jack said she felt "more balanced" on the testosterone, I wonder if remaining on a lower dose would be what she needs? If it's the "feeling" of being more balanced that she liked about the testosterone, and not acually becoming a "man"

Low testosterone in women is an endocrine issue, and can result in feeling "wrong" or "off" without it being anything to do with being trans

Perhaps there was some cross-over there for Jack?

Wolpertinger · 22/01/2017 23:02

Not surprised as she has been gradually posting more and more female-orientated stuff and clearly spending more time wearing female clothing than male for a few months which didn't really fit with the non-binary thing, let alone being full on transman.

Hope she is happy - she clearly has an awful mental health history plus some grim life experiences. Would be nice for her to be happy in her own skin.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/01/2017 23:07

If she wants to go back to identifying as a woman why doesn't she just do it? She appears so publicity hungry for someone who most people have never heard of. Trying on different sexualities/gender definitions as if they are clothes.

People are talking on the thread as if she has escaped some sort of captivity Hmm

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/01/2017 23:09

And it's not 'brave' or indeed 'very public' - much as she would like to be a full on celeb, she's a way off that Grin

vichill · 22/01/2017 23:12

nah. still think she is a bit of a dick.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/01/2017 23:14

nah. still think she is a bit of a dick. Grin

Give it a few months and she will be into the next gender fashion

AskBasil · 22/01/2017 23:50

She did escape some kind of captivity. The Trans Cult. Whoever used the term apostate, has got it spot on.

And it is brave for her to come out and say she's a woman after all. They fucking HATE de-transitioners. The amount of misogynistic shit they throw at them is incredible.

However, given that she's more famous than any of the other de-transitioners, they may not want to show their true colours in public and that may protect her from their bile for a bit.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 22/01/2017 23:55

Sorry , I agree with bibbity and Livia

She appears so publicity hungry for someone who most people have never heard of

Are her book sales down?

AskBasil · 23/01/2017 00:03

I feel sorry for someone who is very publicity hungry though.

It either means they have serious self-esteem / mental health issues, or that they are desperate career-wise.

Either way, it can't be much fun.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 23/01/2017 00:04

She's attention seeking - she's been lesbian, non-binary, trans and now back to being a woman. And even worse she appears to think she represents whatever group she happens to be part of.

Nobody forced her to identify as any of these sex/gender roles, in fact most people don't care. She wasn't held captive by the TA, cunningly escaping months later Grin

I understand why people feel threatened by the trans movement but this is getting into serious tinfoil hat territory now.

tygr · 23/01/2017 00:18

She comes across as vulnerable and emotionally fragile so I'd be more inclined to see her behaviour as part of that than label it attention seeking. I hope she finds some peace of mind.

AskBasil · 23/01/2017 00:23

It was a flippant comment Livia, about escaping captivity.

The very fact that JM does feel the need to do all her growing up and working stuff out in public, makes me think she has big issues and I feel sorry for her. I just think if it's all about attention-seeking, then there are far worse things people can do. If you compare her form of attention-seeking, if that's what it is (and I think that's probably too simplistic) to someone like Katie Hopkins' form, then I think we've all got off pretty lightly. Grin

LunaLoveg00d · 23/01/2017 08:01

I really don't get the fawning over this person. Jack is very attention seeking and me, me, me - always has been and loves the fuss every time she makes a statement about how she "identifies". She even started a thread on here a few months ago inviting people to tell her how great she was or "ask her anything".

I personally don't really care how anyone identifies, it doesn't affect me in any way and I believe the "gender is a social construct" stuff in that people can wear what they want, sleep with who they want and have whatever hobbies they want. But cutting your hair short and referring to yourself as Mx doesn't make you a man.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 23/01/2017 08:28

It must be odd for her DS too, having a mother who publicly announces every few months that she changing sexuality/gender etc Confused

I remember the 'ask me anything' thread - it was hilarious, with all the arse licking - like schoolgirls trying to get the attention of the 'cool girl' Grin

MercyMyJewels · 23/01/2017 09:16

Do you ever see the positive side of life Livia? Your posts are cynical

amispartacus · 23/01/2017 09:16

However, given that she's more famous than any of the other de-transitioners

I was never sure what she was doing. She claimed to be non-binary (what ever that means). I don't think she claimed to be male. I think she claimed to be neither male or female and was taking testosterone.

So if she was transitioning, what was she transitioning to?

amispartacus · 23/01/2017 09:39

Just reading her Twitter account. She should stay off social media for her own mental health. I know her career is based on selling her books and she needs publicity but she sounds so vulnerable.

I hope she has good support in RL and does not have people who want to take advantage of her.
