Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

America would rather be led by someone who boasts of assaulting women, than a woman

And some people think we don't need feminism any more.

Voting massively split by age group as well, as with Brexit.

I hope the women who voted for him (I think it was significantly less than the men who voted for him) will soon realize how stupid they have been when he starts to take away their rights.

There's a kind of person who votes out of protest but doesn't really expect bad things to happen. (After Brexit, apparently, a number of people where shocked that, whoops, their vote actually was a vote not a thumbs down button on youtube)

well, clearly you all make no sense because you've got blood coming out of your whatever!!!

(A reference to comments actually made by Trump at a conference, for those unaware).

his attitude to women is clear even when you remove the accusations. Just the shit that's come out of his mouth makes that clear.

I get that if you are desperate for change, you can ignore a lot of things, but to ignore that kind of thing...just, wow. The man wasn't allowed to run his own fucking Twitter account in the end.

this thread is funny

user1478684818 · 09/11/2016 12:31

What if Obama never got president? Would black people be going online saying "white people hate us"?

Perhaps it has nothing to do with gender and all to do with the fact voters simply thought Trump was a better choice. Hilary certainly had her flaws.

RiverTam · 09/11/2016 12:35

Only if the white candidate had proved over and over again that they hated black people, as Trump has done, for years, with regard to women.

Glad you think it's funny, user.

whoputthecatout · 09/11/2016 12:36

Am I surprised a that so many women voted for him? Not really. There are an awful lot of handmaidens out there Sad

Lottapianos · 09/11/2016 12:40

'They fucking hate us don't they? '

Yep, they sure do. And the 'they' involves plenty of women. 40% of female voters apparently. For the love of sanity. Misogyny is alive and well and rampaging around and shouted from the rooftops by people who positively revel in their own ignorance.

Maybe shove off now user, people who have functioning brains are actually upset about this. This situation hasn't been funny for a very long time

KERALA1 · 09/11/2016 12:40

Its like that Victoria Wood sketch. She wants to play in a Northern working mens band which is threatened with closure. She reels off a litany of amazing things she has done to save the band. Then turns and says hopefully "well, is that enough? Can I join". Pause. Answer from all the men "noooo" in broad Yorkshire accents.

user1478684818 · 09/11/2016 12:41

allegations are allegations, what if it turns out Trump is actually not guilty of the things he's been accused of all along? mud-throwing isn't unheard of in politics

SquedgieBeckenheim · 09/11/2016 12:43

I've seen American women on Facebook today saying that Trump is the lesser of 2 evils. That makes no sense to me. Apparently Hilary Clinton is hated over there.

RiverTam · 09/11/2016 12:44

He's been recorded saying these things!

And he would have been due to stand trial of raping a 13yo girl, if she hadn't withdrawn her complaint in the face of death threats.

Hillary had allegations against her with regard to her emails which have been proved to be untrue. Didn't stop millions of Americans preferring the man accused, and not yet proved innocent, of child rape, and clearly guilty by his own admission of misogyny and harassment of women.

Still laughing?

Lilmisskittykat · 09/11/2016 12:46

Just wondering where the credibility is in voting for a woman that said it was acceptable for her husband to have an affair and stood by him and risked homeland security

Not the best role model I don't think.

I think America didn't have two particularly great choices

3wishes · 09/11/2016 12:51

Completely agree with Pluto30
By a woman who stands by another man accused of assaulting women.
The same woman who threatened her husbands victims and who had no qualms about defending a peadophile and gloating that she knew he was guilty. Not to mention brandishing his 12yr old rape victim a liar. Not exactly a woman I'd want as role model.

YonicProbe · 09/11/2016 12:52

"allegations are allegations, what if it turns out Trump is actually not guilty of the things he's been accused of all along"

The thread title is 'boasts of' - he boasted of grabbing women by the pussy.

I have been saying this (the title of the thread) for months and that is why he would probably win. Lets face it, America has quite a racism problem and despite this the democrats put up a black man as a presidential candidate over a woman previously because that was less of a risk.

I am not surprised but disappointed. He campaigned on irresponsible populism and abuse.

Zxyzoey31 · 09/11/2016 12:54

Also sorry to say but some of the worst critics of women and who try to keep them down are other women. Just look at suffrage for women in the past.

He was on film saying it!

Lorelei76 · 09/11/2016 13:00

user, I was very careful to say in my post - my view isn't based on allegations, it's based on the stuff that has emerged from that man's gob, usually on live TV.

i said it on another thread but I'll say it again for any US MNers - if you are a woman and you don't want kids, or don't want any more kids, get sterilised while you still can. You won't have any abortion rights very soon.

tribpot · 09/11/2016 13:02

I don't think 'innocent until proven guilty' applies to self-confessed acts of sexual assault, does it? He said he did it.

user1475253854 · 09/11/2016 13:16

I haven't seen the picture myself, but someone on the news quiz said there was a woman at a trump rally wearing a T-shirt with an arrow pointing down saying "trump can grab my" ...

VestalVirgin · 09/11/2016 13:16

Please stop complaining about Clinton.

Clinton is a politician you don't like.

Trump is ... I think someone somewhere used the description "rabid circus monkey" which is somewhat accurate, only that an actual monkey would be way less dangerous.
