Why would anyone describe another person as "the Zio" in the sense Wells did by saying "the Zio just arrived" ?

Wells said she didn't know the term was short for "Zionist". Presumably she thought it was a synonym for Jew. That doesn't make her statement any better. Substitute any other noun referring to a religious believer and see how it works; not well.

The police comment puzzles me. I thought the writer of the tweet must be from somewhere the police are known for beating up transpeople, perhaps a high profile shooting even - not Edinburgh, land of Rebus and no guns in sight.
I doubt anyone at the university cares about the anti-lesbian comments sadly, but I would have thought inciting violence against the police and anti-semitism would have lead to more trouble.

It makes me sad when I think about what Magdalen points out in that video- that 17 and 18 year old lesbians are turning up at Edinburgh Uni, where they should be able to connect with other lesbians, probably in ways they've not been able to before, and they're being greeted by people like Ada who tell them that lesbians have to sleep with people with penises or they're horrid transphobic bigots. How on EARTH could you make head or tail of your sexuality in that environment? What are you meant to make of the fact that you're attracted to women, to breasts and vulvas and all things female, when you're being told that isn't actually allowed? And it's being done in the very society that's supposed to SUPPORT you!

I am an alumni of Edinburgh uni too and am also disgusted that they are condoning this....but struggling to articulate my thoughts in a letter....

He knows Liney. Despite one persons desperate attempts to suggest that Ada is some kind of lone wolf asshole, they are well known and well supported within the university. They aren't merely a "twat" they are a twat with backing from EUSA and members of the University disciplinary council.

Publicly, and using accounts that clearly state their officer position within EUSA, they have made violent, misogynist, homophobic and antisemitic comments and have been supported and validated by students.

My beliefs of why lesbians are facing the most pressure: transwomen who previously would have been known as transvestite men are mostly attracted to women and being dressed up and accepted as a woman is part of a sexual fantasy. Now they fall under the transgender umbrella, they are told they really are women and are very happy to go along with this because it gives them an excuse to invade women's private spaces. Nothing is more women-only than lesbianism and lesbianism is fetishised by many males (think "lesbian porn").

Interestingly, many of these transgender lesbians who claim it is gender identity, not genitals, that determine sexuality will not consider sleeping with fellow bepenised transgender lesbians because they find it "triggering".

Transmen who are attracted to women or men are less likely to have that huge sense of entitlement some transwomen have due to their female socialisation. Although I have read one buzzfeed article with transmen complaining gay men didn't see them as men. Will be interesting to see if this type of thing from transmen increases more and more children are now being transitioned in their toddler years.

I can sort of understand (well, not really but sort of) how a fake vagina is made, but a fake penis? Can a transman get an erection, for example?

I saw a programme about trans men and one had a "penis" created from abdominal skin. It had an inflatable balloon inside which was pumped up by squeezing one of the newly created testicles, and let down by squeezing the other. It didn't seem a very satisfactory solution to me, as an outsider looking in.
Also the womb snd ovaries had to be removed as there's an increased risk of cancer when taking testosterone
