MN deleted thread

I feel sorry for the team at HQ. They deleted the thread about the bathroom issue, and posted this:

"Message from MNHQ: We have removed this thread following several reports.
This thread had personal attacks, general nastiness and transphobic posts on it and we felt that what began as an interesting discussion, became a bit of a slanging match and so we felt it best to remove it."

I agree that the thread did include these. However it also included genuine discussion, cries for help, abused women trying to make their voices heard.

By deleting the whole thread, rather than just the bad, you are telling these women to shut up and put up.

LilacSpunkMonkey For god sake read my posts will you!
A friend of mine done exactly that! Her children (2 boys) have been diagnosed with add after her preservence with the doctors DESPITE never being in the same room as them and never teaching them right from wrong! When they spent weeks with me and also thier dad they learnt towards the end thier behaviours were not acceptable and they were like different boys
When she was questioned about it by thier dad she TOLD me it was about the money
As I have said over and over again knowing someone that has done it means it DOES happen - NOT all the time and be no means everyone but why can I not post facts about a person doing it just Incase there are genuine people with SEN children going to get offended!! on the other thread I also said I have another friend with a child with ADHD and you can tell that is a true diagnosis so I am not brushing the condition off like most do I'm just stating that there are people who play it!
Seriously, since I joined mn I have realised how so many people read what they want to read and jump!

PortiaCastis · 12/07/2016 21:05

Ok so parents of adhd children how easy is it to get benefits? Not very I should imagine?

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:06

wantingresults I take your point and as I've said (again) I'm aware it does happen and it's not fair at all, I agree BUT not every situation is someone being sexist
All I'm trying to point out is that just because it can be sexist doesn't mean it allways is

LilacSpunkMonkey · 12/07/2016 21:08

How do we know you're posting 'facts'? I could tell you I'm Kate Middleton. Doesn't make it true.

And if you weren't offensive you wouldn't have been deleted, would you?

Maybe spouting off your offensive nonsense is why people keep 'jumping on you'.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 12/07/2016 21:10

And I love how you're qualified to say what is and what isn't a 'true case' of ADHD.

Are you a Dr? A child psychologist? A brain specialist?

Thought not.

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:10

PortiaCastis Well she did and quite proudly said it
I reported her btw after filming the conversation after she initially admitted it to me!
She confessed when under caution and has been done, not only for that but for neglect as she let her boys have medication for years that they didn't need
Since being with thier dad (now 15 and 17) they are doing great

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:12

LilacSpunkMonkey And I've apologised if I've been offended, it was never my intention but why should I not post on experiences? I clearly stated it was one case but it has happened!

NeedACleverNN · 12/07/2016 21:12

No offence but I can't see it being that easy to claim DLA for something like ADHD.

People with severe disabilities struggle to claim it so why would they allow a mother who had never had her children formally diagnosed allow to claim?

Something there doesn't add up

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:13

Dr? A child psychologist? A brain specialist?
Thought not

Never claimed to be thanks!

PortiaCastis · 12/07/2016 21:14

It's very difficult for severely disabled people to get dla

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:15

NeedACleverNN They were diagnosed and the dr appeared in court, not sure what was said though as I wasn't there

I've not made out to know it all I've just stated personal experiences

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:16

PortiaCastis I know it is, I'm disabled myself!

LilacSpunkMonkey · 12/07/2016 21:16

I'm guessing from your posts that you're actually the boys step-mum. You're certainly no 'friend' of their mother. You've done nothing but run her down. But the boys were fine with you and their Dad?

Yep, step-mum and the mother is the crazy, lazy, negligent ex. So clichéd.

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:18

And amongst the things She had was a 25 page document of what answers to put on the dla forms to get high marks - clearly illegal!

NeedACleverNN · 12/07/2016 21:18

No doctor will prescribe medication for a child who doesn't need it so there must have been ADHD involved.

The parent may not have helped the behaviour but there's no reason to doubt the children

NeedACleverNN · 12/07/2016 21:20

And amongst the things She had was a 25 page document of what answers to put on the dla forms to get high marks - clearly illegal!

Not illegal at all. I had someone from the deaf society come out with her own answer sheet and sit down to go through the entire paperwork to fill it in. When I was rejected she pushed for a tribunal but I didn't go through with it. Tempted to try again

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:20

No I'm defiantly not their step mum. I've been with my husband since I was 16 and we have only 2 children who are ours!
One of the boys is my god child and I only know their dad Mutually through her
If my own mother was to admit to something so horrendous I wouldn't think twice about reporting her either!

LilacSpunkMonkey · 12/07/2016 21:20

So much insider knowledge of a 'friend' you clearly despise Hmm

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:21

NeedACleverNN Is thier a test that can prove it or is a diagnosis based on reports from medical proffesionals and schools!?

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:22

I was very close to her hence being the eldest boys god mother! Doesn't mean I'm gonna stick by someone doing that!
I wouldn't stick by anyone doing that!

NeedACleverNN · 12/07/2016 21:24

Why would a school and doctor confirm a false diagnosis?

They won't. It's not in the child's best interest.

Hell I had to push the doctors to diagnose my son with allergies for 7 months. Despite screaming every single day, I was basically told it was my fault

wantingresults · 12/07/2016 21:30

My point Lou was that while there are sometimes reasons for males and females getting different treatment, widespread groundless discrimination does exist and when you say you have never experienced any discrimination for being a woman, this is highly unlikely to be the case.

FWIW I believe you on the ADHD thing although I don't think it's that relevant to the discussion on the deleted thread!

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:31

NeedACleverNN I can't answer you I don't know how she managed to get the diagnosis but she did somehow

Trust me I know what it feels like to be trying to find out what wrong and get a diagnosis, I started getting a lot of pain and fatigue at 13 years old - I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 17 after years off appointments, tests and drug trials! I was even told at one point it must all be in my head!
From the age of 5 I was under a dietician for my weight, my mum was accused of not feeding me, I was accaused at age 7 of making myself sick and it wasn't until I was 14 that the Doctor turnt around and said 'well I guess your just naturally skinny!'
This is why I was so against what she done! I was a child being put through tests and all sorts, not coz of my parents but because of school and doctors making a big deal of my weight

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:32

wantingresults Thank you. There probably has been at some point I'm sure but I havnt been aware of it or just too nieve to see it?

Louw1988 · 12/07/2016 21:33

And the whole adhd this is because I used it as an example of being being badly tared with the same brush as people and yet again I was taken offensively when that was far from what I attended
