Unbelievable. There has been a lot of hate recently in North Carolina with the bathroom bill. But this has got a lot worse. [ www.al.com/news/anniston-gadsden/index.ssf/2016/04/oxford_passes_law_aimed_at_tar.html]

So a transwoman will have to go the male bathroom. A transman in the female one. There's been cases of butch women being hassled already in female toilets.

Oh - and if you're in North Carolina and witness someone who you think is in the wrong bathroom, you can call the hotline.

Meanwhile, a convicted sex offender (who is also Ex Republican House Speaker) is allowed to go the male bathroom with boys.

The only good thing about this bill is that it's made people react to the discrimination and to show that many people think this is discrimination. Just like in the 60s. Apparently trans people are sexual deviants.

This is the real effect of hate.

Yep I don't think penises are appropriate in women's toilets if they are penises over the age of about 7.

If people insist on breaking the laws, then they know the consequences.

And OP most people can tell a transwoman despite all the dresses and makeup. I wouldn't know if she still had a penis. I probably wouldn't even call the police if she did. Hardly the point though. Why take a stand on this? It stinks of throwing your toys out of the pram and throwing a sulk over wanting your toilet NOW NOW NOW.

I'm talking about this law in the USA. It's made me very glad to see the reaction from many people in the US - from all backgrounds who have challenged it. It's made me realise that MN is not reality and that when things happen in the real world, people fight back against discrimination.

I'm saddened but not surprised by the reaction on MN. Luckily MN is not the real world.

It's what happens when people aren't afraid of being shouted down and called phobic.

It's the conversations women are having behind closed doors and in their safe places.

It's how the majority of women feel when the erosion of their hard won rights are explained to them.

The world has moved on - Transwomen aren't a small group who all have genital surgery, there is a growing group of men who are using trans/non binary/whatever to claim they are oppressed, while using it to silence women and take over women's space. Fuck that.

I also don't want to share any space with paedophile rapist David/Davina Ayrton or murderous sex offender "Claire" Darbyshire, thanks.
