Do feminists believe that vented tumble driers or condensers are best?

Sorry. Inspired by another thread. Grin

Challenging questions for feminists.

Do feminists believe slates or tiles are best for the roof?

Do feminists prefer fitted carpets or floorboards with rugs?

Do feminists believe gammon is best cooked in cherry cola or classic coke?

Do feminists believe potatoes should be mashed or roasted with roast chicken?

Do feminists believe that before they smash the patriarchy, they should focus on male victims of domestic violence or prostate cancer?

I could go on all night but you get the picture. Hmm

If we are in the kitchen, I'm going to show y'all how to cook okra.

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 13:22

Perhaps it's a disembodied kitchen, hovering slightly out of sight. And therefore out of mind. After all you can never step into the same pub twice.

ShumbTucker · 23/01/2015 13:29

Lightning Its a middle class tumble dryer, only interested in progressing its own privilege at the expense of working class tumble dryers, it spits out pound coins, boden and misandrist comments Wink

scallopsrgreat · 23/01/2015 13:32

Loving this thread Grin

I never knew celery was so despised before I came on MN. Mind you, I'll eat pretty much everything. Apart from baked beans. They are just food of the devil patriarchy. I'm pretty certain I could make a case that eradicating baked beans would eradicate male violence and end womens oppression.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 23/01/2015 13:36

[Grin] I am loving your work Buffy. And indeed, Shumb's ad (what in the name of actual fuck?) did in fact make my teeth grind uncontrollably, so maybe we're onto something here.

Feminist dentistry. Bite the patriarchy!

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 13:37

Actually I meant to say out of my washing machine, which is working class and proud of it. I don't have any of your poxy middle class dryers. I declare class war! Take that .

[You know, I think I was supposed to be doing something today]

ShumbTucker · 23/01/2015 13:46

My washer refuses to drain water properly. Its probably a woman, doing it wrong. Well at least she is constantly wet which means it is at least it is living up to some of its gender ideals...

ShumbTucker · 23/01/2015 13:47

"Well at least she is constantly wet which means it is at least it is living up to some of its gender ideals..."

Sentence structure fail there...I'm sure you get the gist.

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 13:53

perhaps it is also merely attempting to cross dimensional space, to become something more than a mere temporally-bound physical manifestation, to develop into a jump-into-as-many-times-as-you-like ideal.

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 13:54

Or become a shattered mere.

grimbletart · 23/01/2015 13:54

My dryer goes round and round and emits an awful lot of hot air…is that clue about its sex?

ShumbTucker · 23/01/2015 14:00

I never thought of that Lightning, I will go home and congratulate it later. The resourceful little scamp.

My dog rubs its arse against the dryer vent grimble, make of that what you will. Shock

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 14:06

It may need encouragement at this stage rather than congratulations. It is only at the first stage of it's transformation if it still physically manifests the mere.

UptoapointLordCopper · 23/01/2015 14:09

We don't have a dryer. I feel deprived. I never felt that before. Has my consciousness been raised?

ShumbTucker · 23/01/2015 14:14

I love the feminist board, only here can I gain aspirational support for my white goods.

I was worried it was going to start getting ideas from the dryer and I would return home to this sort of situation....

Do feminists believe that vented tumble driers or condensers are best?
LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 15:15

I trust this is additional aspirational support: not been neglecting them yourself have you?

Only in aspiration is there life, only in life is there breath, only in breath is there inspiration. Onwards and upwards to join with the transcendental goddess, hand in hand with white goods, black and all other sisterhoods.

DuelingFanjo · 23/01/2015 15:41
Grin I luvs you lot I do.
LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 16:05

ssshhh I am now cutting up my celery in accordance with the 7th haruspicial guidance on feminist convocations to try to ascertain the whereabouts of our goat and how closely 'they' are aligned with the transcendental ideals of mere creativity, in the hope that they will then reveal the whereabouts of the secret feminist handbook, that I may become an all-round better person.

YonicScrewdriver · 23/01/2015 16:14

Hang on, hang on, what?

I thought we AGREED about celery.

Well, I'm not sure I'm on the right board anymore

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 16:16

You mean you knew where the goat was all along and let me go ahead with this? aarrrgghh it's all ruined now, I need more celery!

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 23/01/2015 16:24
ShumbTucker · 23/01/2015 16:27

Confession: I am a feminist and I have been neglecting my duty to raise the conciousness of my white goods .

I like celery, I enjoyed inserting blue dye into the xylem at school. They also described it as "turgid" which caused a snigger.

AnnieLobeseder · 23/01/2015 16:36

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce - the goat is in the pub. Right next to the cannon. If you were any kind of real feminist you'd know that. Sheesh.
