Do feminists believe that vented tumble driers or condensers are best?

Sorry. Inspired by another thread. Grin

Challenging questions for feminists.

Do feminists believe slates or tiles are best for the roof?

Do feminists prefer fitted carpets or floorboards with rugs?

Do feminists believe gammon is best cooked in cherry cola or classic coke?

Do feminists believe potatoes should be mashed or roasted with roast chicken?

Do feminists believe that before they smash the patriarchy, they should focus on male victims of domestic violence or prostate cancer?

I could go on all night but you get the picture. Hmm

Think of the impact factor, Buffy! You'd be the envy of your colleagues.

You'd probably have to submit your project to an ethics committee first, though, before wantonly turning the lives of internet randoms upside down.

Imagine! You would stand head and shoulders above other researchers in the cannon of [feministcelery]. And rightly so.

PetulaGordino · 23/01/2015 00:03

Never mind third/fourth wave feminism

We're on the verge of a vegetable wave

EBearhug · 23/01/2015 00:46

I'm not sure which camp spring onions or okra fall into....

Okra's also known as lady's fingers, if that helps.

kickassangel · 23/01/2015 01:19

I fucking hate aubergine.

For Petula:
What's That Smell in the Kitchen?
by Marge Piercy

All over America women are burning dinners.
It's lambchops in Peoria; it's haddock
in Providence; it's steak in Chicago
tofu delight in Big Sur; red
 rice and beans in Dallas.
All over America women are burning
food they're supposed to bring with calico
smile on platters glittering like wax.
Anger sputters in her brainpan, confined
but spewing out missiles of hot fat.
Carbonized despair presses like a clinker
from a barbecue against the back of her eyes.
If she wants to grill anything, it's
her husband spitted over a slow fire.
If she wants to serve him anything
it's a dead rat with a bomb in its belly
ticking like the heart of an insomniac.
Her life is cooked and digested,
 nothing but leftovers in Tupperware.
Look, she says, once I was roast duck
on your platter with parsley but now I am Spam.
Burning dinner is not incompetence but war.
PetulaGordino · 23/01/2015 06:33

I love that kickass

(And to completely miss the point) My unintentional act of war failed though - he said (genuinely) "mmm I love it when the sausages are a bit burnt"

I've always hated the word "ladies" and learned why on here: Ladies are women who know their place.

That's why okra should be okra and not lady's fingers. Grin

PlumpingUpPartridge · 23/01/2015 07:43

Buffy I suspect that you enjoyed imagining documenting that HQ conversation Grin

Sad that I missed the originator thread now....

I'm handing my feminist league membership card back in if I have to so much as look at okra again.

Sorry, but I will have to take a firm stand over a vegetable which is not only phallic in it's presentation, but also exudes gallons of slime if you warm it up.

Just no.

but as a feminist if i choose to eat okra doesn't that make it feminist? what with feminism being all about choice?
