Why the fucking fuck is that rapist Ched Evans being released anyway?

I thought that in order to get parole, the minimum you had to do was admit that you are actually guilty of the crime for which you've been imprisoned?

But Evans the rapist hasn't admitted that he's a rapist. He keeps saying he's innocent.

So why is he being released?

Is this normal now?

Do all prisoners automatically get early release for good behaviour even if they keep saying they didn't actually do the crime, therefore proving that the one thing that used to be a necessity for early release - remorse - is definitely missing?

And another appeal is being launched via a different route ( it's all over the newspapers). As I have said I have just looked at the case and have not supported him in any way - just stated why I think he will get off. Not whether I think that is a right or wrong decision.

Prisoners don't have to express remorse or undergo rehab to be considered for release these days:"The law changed in 2005 as a consequence of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 so that all persons on determinate sentences were released automatically when they had completed half their sentence regardless of whether they had attended rehabilitation programmes or shown remorse." (from napo.org.uk)

It's really shitty that he gets out and just picks up where he left off. The woman he raped has had her life ruined.

He has been found guilty but I wouldn't be surprised if a second appeal found him innocent for these reasons. The whole thing hinges on reasonable doubt I guess.

He has tried to appeal many times. Several judges have said his conviction was safe.

You might want to stop being such an obvious rape apologist now, Hup.

I am not sure his girlfriend should be called in for criticism. I do hope that in extremis my DH would stand by me, even if I was guilty.

Why sickening? She was taken advantage of was she not? By both men, not just one. If you read my posts you will see I am not supporting him at all and that my interest stems from being raped in the same circumstances when I wad younger. I am just stating why I think on this secondary appeal he will be acquitted - nowhere have I said it wasn't rape or that he is innocent.

An appeal against what? There is nothing left to appeal.

"Taken advantage of" what on earth.

Use of pathetic euphemisms for rape = check.

"Is it that they think he didn't do what he was convicted of, or if they think what he was convicted of doesn't count as rape, I wonder. Maybe a mix of both"

The latter, I think.

Seven I take offence with you using quotation marks around something that I did not say or insinuate. And again I am not supporting him. In any way. Nor have I said I have.

Yes I was paraphrasing.

FGS just that was my original post - I couldn't understand why he wasn't guilty too. Nice touch calling someone who has been raped in the same circumstances a rape apologist. I don't think so, just have an interest in the case because of the similarities with mine.

Hup, I'm sorry that you were raped Flowers. I believe you.

I'm also sorry that the victim of Ched Evans was raped. I believe her and so did a court.

Are we going to be subject to crowds cheering him on like he's a hero? Will parents be happy if he is the footballer holding their child's hand as the team walks out onto the pitch? What are we meant to think of someone who chooses an 'Evans' football shirt? Are children going to have his poster on their wall?

Paraphrasing should not have quotation marks and I did not say anything of like the phrase you used. I have read many outlets on the information thank you, I am a balanced person who would never accuse. If you read my posts you will not find anywhere where I say he is innocent - I knew why the other got off BUT cannot unsolder stand and as I said both should be guilty or innocent as they both took advantage of a young girl (but only one was convicted of rape - if the first man had not taken advantage then the rape would not have occurred).

Where have I said capt that I don't believe her? I have pointed out what I think the new appeal will focus on .... And they have applied for a new appeal. That is all. I have not given anywhere my opinion of the girl or of him, just the facts. Do you honestly think that having been tree I would not have sympathy for the girl and not believe her? Or that I am looking at the facts in support of the girl and what his appeal team will use against her? Or would you rather just read into my opinions what you want to?
