Why the fucking fuck is that rapist Ched Evans being released anyway?

I thought that in order to get parole, the minimum you had to do was admit that you are actually guilty of the crime for which you've been imprisoned?

But Evans the rapist hasn't admitted that he's a rapist. He keeps saying he's innocent.

So why is he being released?

Is this normal now?

Do all prisoners automatically get early release for good behaviour even if they keep saying they didn't actually do the crime, therefore proving that the one thing that used to be a necessity for early release - remorse - is definitely missing?

Authentic stuff, eh?

AlpacaYourThings · 14/08/2014 23:45

Tis all very convincing

Hmm

Hi Pan- I'm really interested in what you're saying about indeterminate sentences. Do you have any links which outline your position a bit more, or have you got time to elaborate more here?

The reason it interests me is that I knew a person who was definitely your standard Pillar Of The Community type who received such a sentence after some really horrific crimes against women. I naively thought it meant he would more or less be locked up for life, but on re-reading the newspaper reports, it looks like he could be released as little as three years into his sentence (round about now, I guess). It really worries me that somebody who was clearly such a consummate liar in the past will be able to pull the wool over the eyes of whoever decides if he is fit for release. I'm actually quite scared about it, tbh, especially as I don't think there will be any announcement made publicly if/when he gets out.

Can you tell me any more about how it works? And is there anybody I can make a statement to about his capacity for deception, and would it make any difference?

BOF - greetings! My eyes are closing right now, but yes if course, I'll post or PM you - it's complex, BUT the time spent in prison prior to release is tricky to guess, when a risk assessment is involved, and the Parole Board do wish to take into account most peoples investment. It also depends IF there is a victim voice, officially.
Be in touch tomorrow? Night.

Thanks Pan.

Hup
Ched Evans hasn't been granted leave to appeal - we are a way away from any of his ideas making it to court.

Personal attack much, Beatrix?

Only anyfucker

Hup · 15/08/2014 00:31

AB I posted a link earlier and his legal team have applied to the criminal review people with evidence from some independent company that have new evidence (or something along those lines). If the new evidence adds any 'concerns' then it goes to court. It was in the newspaperin the last few weeks.
I hope it does not get granted.

ABlandAndDeadlyCourtesy · 15/08/2014 00:53

Hup

There's a fair chance it will be denied again.

lezuvucaje · 15/08/2014 03:11

From www.chedevans.com/judge-for-yourself

"On the run up to the trial the mainstream popular press claimed that video footage showed the complainant being carried, hopelessly drunk, into the Premier Inn by two men."

Yet there is CCTV footage available from 2 different angles (which you can see on the above link) showing the complainant walking (stably IMO) into the Premier Inn in high wedges.

lezuvucaje · 15/08/2014 03:19

What if he really is innocent??

EveDallasRetd · 15/08/2014 06:15

Again, don't base your judgement on the 'evidence' taken from a website set up by Evans relatives.

The full CCTV images (the ones seen by the judge and jury) show the victims falling over inside a kebab shop. Falling over outside a kebab shop. Stumbling around. Squatting down. Oh and leaving her handbag inside the kebab shop and walking away. It is obvious that she is VERY drunk.

But Evans the Rapist's vile family aren't going to let you see that, are they?

Well that took longer than I expected, even in spite of the advance party.

Ched Evans family are very keen to peddle the idea of this being a miscarriage of justice. I would imagine that is a lot easier for them to stomach than it is to take a look at his whole attitude to women.

But, just because they want to believe that he is not a rapist does mean that he is not a rapist. They are clutching at straws.

CaptChaos · 15/08/2014 08:12

Pretty obviously yes, Just. However, you're always going to get rape apologists, because, well, wimmins lie, innit.

Some of the stuff on that website is almost certainly libelous to the victim.

CaptChaos · 15/08/2014 08:13

Also, you have to remember that his girlfriend has 'forgiven him' for 'cheating' on her. Which must be a hell of a lot easier than having to admit that the man you have spent so much time with is actually a vile rapist liar.

mausmaus · 15/08/2014 08:22

he has the right to go back to his job?
if he were a teacher, barrister (probably many more professions) he wouldn't.

Mengog · 15/08/2014 08:49

If we held footballers to the same standard as teachers or barristers there wouldn't be many left. That includes club owners to members of FIFA.
