This is absolutely appalling. Even worse, they are not telling GPs that they are choosing not to offer vaccination :(

Grauniad article

"one of my cohort"?! are you for real?

I should imagine a number of your "cohort" would like to see all women refusing to live with all men but you know, I won't hold it against you Hmm

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 18:49

Oh Sardine we're being demanding again, are we?

Tell you what.

You respond to my questions then I'll respond to yet another of yours.

SardineQueen · 24/07/2012 18:50

Yes I think some of them do feel that way.
I understand their reasons.
make sure you understand who you are aligning with.

And remind me again how much you care about the impact of religion on girls again? Oh yes, NO INTEREST.

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 18:50

Remind me again - what do you know about Cervarix - aout Diane Harper - about safety trials - about damaged girls - about the PCT responsibility for immmunisation?

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 18:52

"And remind me again how much you care about the impact of religion on girls again?"

Remind you again? I've never told you Hmm as you well know, unless you're being deliberately obtuse, which I can't believe

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 18:53

Are you actually going to respond to any of these substantive issues?

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 19:00

"You say that you are not interested in the treatment of girls in some religious schools in the UK"

this for example is a complete lie

a. I didn't say it and
b. why would I - it's not true

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 19:01

This is what you offer up instead of a substantive response and an interest in informing yourself about women's health.

Sossiges · 24/07/2012 19:07

"Be careful who you ally yourself with"
Oh don't be such an arse

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 19:08

I agree - shouldn't you address the arguments presented to you instead of saying I don't like your friends so I'm not going to?

SardineQueen · 24/07/2012 19:19

accuracy you have said this:

"And just to put the lid on it - millions MORE women and girls than are being affected by this piddling religious nonsense."

and you have said this

"Plainly it's not of interest or we'd be talking about it, by the way." - in response to "I am trying to discuss, on the feminist section of MN, whether girls in religious schools in the UK should be "opted out" en masse from anything that goes against the "ethos". However it seems that conversation is not going to happen and the FACT that girls are being denied all sorts of things at religious schools is not of interest to most on here"

So you really have nailed your colours to the mast there.
I also wonder how your friends feel about you stating that none of them have any interest in the issue of religion in schools in the UK and what it can mean.

SardineQueen · 24/07/2012 19:20

I mean really I'm not about to engage with people who come to the feminist section of mn and say openly that they don't care about this stuff.

it's ridiculous.
you are all just after a fight.
the thread title was like a klaxon to the anti-vac bunch.
You have driven all the other posters away.
Stated that you do not care about pretty fundamental stuff affecting girls.
It's just annoying and pathetic.

SardineQueen · 24/07/2012 19:21

And now I am going to go and do my maths homework for a bit Smile
And listen to my fully vaccinated young children playing happily upstairs Smile

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 19:23

Oh. My. God.

"millions MORE women and girls than are being affected by this piddling religious nonsense."

Yes - millions more women and girls are affected by the global rollout of HPV vaccine that those attending these schools with this issue

How. Hard. Is. This. To. Understand. For the third, fourth time?

Which bit of that is not true?? I look forward to your response.

Yes, plainly we are interested in the BIGGER issue of millions of women and the global rollout. Or this conversation would not be happening in this way.

I'm getting a little concerned here - these things are neither false nor complicated nor difficult to understand.

Still waiting for your responses on the substantive issues.

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 19:24

Poor you. I did my Maths degree a few years ago and I remember how hard it was.

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 19:26

"I also wonder how your friends feel about you stating that none of them have any interest in the issue of religion in schools in the UK and what it can mean."

Whatever ARE you talking about? This is such a lie, why are you making stuff up?

Oh - sorry - forgot - you can't address the central issues so you just want to be randomly insulting.

Sossiges · 24/07/2012 19:32

[SQ sticks fingers in ears and flounces off going "I can't hear you neh neh neh"]

Sossiges · 24/07/2012 19:54

SQ won't be interested in this then:
"...only 9 of the 24 schools where the jabs had not been given were listed as religious schools. Of these, only two schools said that it was school policy not to give the jabs and that this was specifically for religious reasons. Both schools have less than 10 pupils."

Fancy getting apopletic that up to 20 pupils Shock will not have been given the HPV jab in school (which they can have at their GP's if they're that desperate) for religious reasons.
Gosh, that is very exciting [zzzzzz.....]

SardineQueen · 24/07/2012 20:26

Smile
Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 20:45

Nobody is here except us .. Are you suggesting no one on mn is interested either?

PigletJohn · 24/07/2012 20:47

SQ, you have great fortitude, but you aren't going to get any change out of the antivaxxers.

There's no-one else in here. I just looked in to try to offer a kindly word.

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 20:49

Sardine you are being deliberately obtuse, you must be. No other explanation for your failure to understand. Meanwhile you are more interested in bickering than in the real issue that millions of girls are offered a risky medical intervention outside a medical environment with poor safety trials and failure to monitor post roll out reaction.

What is more you have repeatedly refused to address this issue and even admit it is an issue, never mind of feminist concern.

Why you do not listen to the voice of these women I cannot conceive.

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 20:50

Sardine has not addressed a single issue and neither have you piglet. Very depressing.

SardineQueen · 24/07/2012 20:53

piglet, thank you for that post

You are right I know, been there done that too many times and never again! So why am I doing it here? Dunno... So,

I will leave this - it's not going to go anywhere - and the anti-vac crew can enjoy their victory in peace Grin

Accuracyrequired · 24/07/2012 20:57

Tbh I do not know how you can expect to get anywhere when you refuse to respond to a single point.

The words victory and triumphant indicate that what matters to you is some stupid Internet bickering rather than women's health. I don't understand that in someone calling themselves a feminist.
