Apologies if there has already been a thread on this.

Bj strap

I actually don't know what to say about this.

This thread is years old and inactive. If you've found this page in search of Ann Summers products that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best Ann Summers sex toys useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ 💐

Still working my way through the whole thread but jesus - feel sick that this piece of crap is being peddled in a high street shop. Can you imagine the picture was behind a male head? Think topshop should put that image on one of their twatty t shirts. Fuckers.

thegingerwhinger · 21/03/2012 21:42

I don't like AS parties personally. Last time I went to one all I could think was how useful the nipple-less nightie would be for bf Grin

that's breastfeeding, not boyfriend btw

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 21/03/2012 21:46

I'm currently amusing myself by looking through the lovehoney bondage section and reading the reviews of the Glow In The Dark Pussy Opener Speculum, the Anal Vibrating Invader with Cock Cage and the Monkey Rocker Hybrid Sex Machine.

This stuff is really accessible to anyone with a curiosity. I note you don't age an age warning flash up these sites.

Ann Summers I believe operate a 'no under 16s in the back section of shop' policy.

Dworkin · 21/03/2012 22:04

I'm just amused I tell ye at someone who would post and include in capitals CONSENSUAL sex.

Why not put it into lower case and in more erotic consensual sex. It is sexily consensual after all.

Carry on.

You can get 68 thrusts a minute with the Erotic Dream Bag Thrusting Sexe Machine. But you do have to cough up £400. Since I am vaguely amused by this now, I can imagine being fascinated by this at 16.

TSC, I agree with you about the anal sex - on three sex websites that I have visited in the last hour (due to this thread, not my excessive viewing of sex sites :o) anal sex toys have been the top "essential sex toys" and "bestsellers" under vibrators. However, although I may feel differently when my own girls become older, I do feel that 17 is about the right age to start learning about this.

Salo was 1975. Hardly the odd beaver shot. (Although, of course, this was not a normal porn video.)

JoyceDivision · 21/03/2012 22:25

I 'm sorry to lower the sensible tone, but I showed the pic to dh and he said Wouldn't it be cheaper to use a teatowel? Grin (He was joking, btw!)

AsCorruptAsWhisky, Eurotrash had a lot to answer for when I was a teenager in the 1990s.

Now we have introducing us to sex toys at 10.30am on a weekday.

Where do you think the 'normalising' starts?

AsCorruptAsWhisky · 21/03/2012 22:37

Late night shows are, of course, fine. It shouldn't have a lot to answer for because it wasn't on during the daytime, as far as I remember, and therefore you made a conscious choice to watch it.

I'm not sure where I stand with Holly and Phil. I don't watch This Morning or whatever their show is called so I didn't know that this was a prominent feature. The clip was hardly explicit, though, so not unsuitable for kids.

My point is with the late night shows, I remember having the volume on very low so my parents didn't hear and watching.

My point with Holly and Phil, is people were suggesting that you have to know what sex toys are before you can start googling them. Well when they are talking about them in the middle of the day, of course it leads to the curiousity.

Which leads very very quickly to the websites.

Ann Summers are not to blame imho. They are a business keeping up with market demand and competition. That means they will only sell stuff they think will sell. They will want a particular market share and demographic. If their online competitors are selling certain products, they need to make a commercial decision to keep up or go for a particular niche (potentially limiting) market.

And actually having something on their website doesn't mean they will have it in store.

Starwisher · 21/03/2012 23:43

Ok I showed this to dh

He says its disgusting and looks like oral rape

Hmm maybe on second glances this particular product is worse than I thought

MmeLindor. · 22/03/2012 00:35

That is interesting Starwisher. I note that all of the DHs questioned have expressed revulsion.

I don't need to ask my DH. He would be so incredibly repulsed by this. He wasn't even keen on my rabbit and did not mourn when it got stolen.

Starwisher · 22/03/2012 00:38

You rabbit was stolen?!

Ok, you can't end the story there

I agree with you TSC, and SQ.

That's what I find uncomfortable about it. the normalisation of it to young people.

It must be like being landed into your Maths A Levels exam without the years of times tables, multiplication and algebra that comes before it.

I hope no one thinks I'm a prude for comparing the fun and discovery of sex to dusty old maths. Grin

SinicalSanta · 22/03/2012 09:24

ha ha The Joy of x

god I crack myself up sometimes

Hoebag · 22/03/2012 09:53

TBF Sexcetera.Eurotrash is vanilla as owt and was/is on like 11pm.

Sex toys on this morning? Why have I been watching the right stuff instead.

the product isn't something I would have.

LineRunner · 22/03/2012 11:54

My daughter and her friends have been handed Ann Summers leaflets in the street, outside the shop, from when they were about 13.

Greenshirt · 22/03/2012 11:59

Ann Summers is a sex shop no? it is a sex product that can be used during oral sex for both men and women.

Maybe the woman wears a strap on for the man to enjoy. As the sensation of having something shoved down your throat is really quite pleasurable it would appear, So it's nice that men can experience it too. I'm sure that happens lots.
