Apologies if there has already been a thread on this.

Bj strap

I actually don't know what to say about this.

This thread is years old and inactive. If you've found this page in search of Ann Summers products that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best Ann Summers sex toys useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ 💐

Why would you mention the site if you hated it.

I didn't say you linked to it. Obviously you haven't.

Insane? Isn't that a bit much?

AsCorruptAsWhisky · 21/03/2012 20:33

You aren't turned on by this, MmeLindor, but why does that make it wrong?

Im not sure it would work as a cunnilingus strap though, it would be the wrong angle.

Beachcomber · 21/03/2012 20:36

Dh said you'd have to be a cunt to use one.

Sounds about right to me ledkr.

LeBOF · 21/03/2012 20:37

Surely part of the fun of sex to a young person is the whole feeling that you are discovering things for yourself? Having elements of hardcore bondage and coercion marketed to you alongside chocolate body paint commodifies the whole experience and makes sex an off-the-shelf drone exercise, flattening everything into a boring "add to basket" spoonfeeding. Sex becomes something to consume, rather than to discover.

Yes dear. Except it's not the morning.

Dworkin · 21/03/2012 20:39

LeBOF: Exactly.

MmeLindor. · 21/03/2012 20:42

It is not my personal feelings that my argument is based on.

Using anecdotal evidence to make a judgement is wrong.

Put aside personal preferences and look at it objectively.

Selling this product influences young women. Since it is AS and not a seedy BDSM shop on the outskirts of town, young people will be inclined to see it as "normal".

The point made earlier that those who enjoy BDSM generally do so with a trusted partner, not a guy they recently met, or a new partner.

Beachcomber · 21/03/2012 20:42

Lenin we need you here.

Sex is nice. Orgasms feel good. But there is more to life. And one needs to be careful with sex, it corrupts, it distorts, it suspends critical thinking.

Which is why it is so powerful in this here patriarchy.

THIS IS FEMINISM 101 FOLKS. (sorry to shout)

MmeLindor. · 21/03/2012 20:44

yy BOF

It is McDonalds Sex.

AsCorruptAsWhisky · 21/03/2012 20:44

If people aren't encouraged to experiment, they will never discover what they enjoy. If I hadn't bought [insert sex toy] because I happened to see it in the shop, I would never have found out that I enjoyed it. And I wouldn't have been open to my partner's suggestion that we try it together.

Goawaybob · 21/03/2012 20:45

I agree with LeBof (are you Bit of fun? - im sooo slow!) I like bondage, but its very personal to me. I do NOT want it from anne summers, anne summers = tack and just not very sexy.

I wonder if anne summers has had its day - if i want a sex toy, i'll look on the internet and buy what ever it is that i want. I did got into anne summers the other week and looked at the vibrators, quite happily trying out on end of nose when a fresh faced young girl came up to me and started telling me all about them - i'm 41 years old, i didn't need to be made to feel comfortable about purchsing stuff, i wasnt gong to, too expensive. We had a laugh about about the different shapes, but i felt uncomfortable discussing sex toys with someone younger than my DD.

Having given serious thouht to the BJ strap - its just a bit naff if you ask me. I quite like to feel DPs hands in my hair when i do a bj, thats quite a dominant thing to do, but that strap is just odd.

AsCorruptAsWhisky · 21/03/2012 20:46

I need Feminism 101. I am clueless about feminism. When I met my first feminist last year, I was astonished to find that she didn't have hairy legs and a moustache.

LadyBeagleEyes · 21/03/2012 20:48

I read The Woman's Room while working as a topless hostess in Amsterdam.
I'm 55, I came in at the beginning of Women's Lib, oh sorry, feminism.
There's far too much polemic on the Feminist thread, but there is still so much injustice towards women. And going on a thread where everybody tries to make it into some sort of intellectual debate, rather than tackle the real issues is scaring ordinary women away.
That's to Bof BTW.

MmeLindor. · 21/03/2012 20:48

AsCorrupt
Yes, but as BOF says, it is a race to the finish.

I see my sexual development as being a long leisurely lunch, a buffet, where I had a look at what there was to offer, perhaps nibbled here and there, and over time realised what satisfied me.

This is driving to the Drive Through, stuffing my face with a Big Mac and Fries and feeling slightly sick on the way home.

Why rush it?

MmeLindor. · 21/03/2012 20:49

AsCorrupt
I suspect that she wasn't the first feminist you have met. We don't wear name tags.

Starwisher · 21/03/2012 20:49

Just out of interest I don't know anyone who frequented Anne summers at 16. We were all too embarrassed.

Goawaybob · 21/03/2012 20:52

Oh well, im sorry, i dont have any intellectual input to make - i'll skulk off to AIBU then

Dworkin · 21/03/2012 20:53

It's the morning somewhere in the world. Dear.

AsCorruptAsWhisky · 21/03/2012 20:54

A long leisurely walk might suit you. I drove and I don't feel a bit sick.

You can't look around at what there is to offer if it isn't offered, or it is presented as bad. You wouldn't nibble on something that you perceived to be disgusting, would you? So you wouldn't find out what satisfied you the most.

LeBOF · 21/03/2012 20:54

Yes, I'm BitOfFun- I just fancied a change.
