PigletUnrepentant · 05/02/2012 00:05

[gets popcorn and sits in safe area]

HoneyandHaycorns · 05/02/2012 00:06

How can mothers not work?

DefiniteMaybe · 05/02/2012 00:08

I'm thinking we have a troll.

ouryve · 05/02/2012 00:09

Absolutely not. That's as obnoxious a question as those I see asking if working mothers are neglecting their kids. I get quite cross when i see women in a position to choose not to work outside the home being vilified for making that choice. Surely, if women are told they have to work, regardless of their home circumstances, then the whole point of feminism has been lost?

lorcana · 05/02/2012 00:11

I can see how it suits some circumstances to do this temporarily but struggle to understand why any woman would choose it as a lifestyle long term . Genuinely puzzled - it seems such a waste.

PigletUnrepentant · 05/02/2012 00:17

[takes the biscuit and spreads cheese on]

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 00:18

Shall I put some Abba on?

startail · 05/02/2012 00:19

Fuck off

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 00:19

Not Betraying anyone its individual choice
If woman wants to be housewife that's her look out
Doesn't impact upon me

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/02/2012 00:20

No. To assume that they are is to devalue nannies, nurses, cleaners, launderers, chefs and professional shoppers.

SAHMs are totally undervalued by society. The primary purpose of feminism is to promote the value of these women. No?

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 00:20

no you are- just making a thread like this and im not helping by replying but you have angered me (hmm)
now i will piss off to bed!

women should stick together!
where the hell does all this sillyness come from?

lorcana · 05/02/2012 00:20

why ? I am asking a genuine question - it is something I really don't understand . What do these women do all day - especially if children are older and in school/nursery all day? Do they get bored/depressed ? what about financial independence ?

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 00:22

are non working mothers betraying their sex ?

moron!

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 00:22

No child is in school 'all day'.

Himalaya · 05/02/2012 00:23

No, just wasting their education.

I don't know what 'betraying your sex' means. I don't see the world as a great big game of It's a Knockout with two huge teams.

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 00:23

its actually easier to go to work, i take my hat off to sahm's

lorcana · 05/02/2012 00:23

why is this such a contentious issue ? why can't we ask such questions- without getting abused and provoking such anger ?
