Was Bristol Palin raped?

according to this bristol palin was so drunk when she conceived her son that she doesn't remember having sex.

Sounds like rape to me.

Then she was basically 'forced' to marry her rapist? WTF! Sometimes America sounds more like the middle east!

Quite a few forums are discussing this, with some

disgusting rape myths on this forum

"About half of all adolescent and teen boys and girls told interviewers that "pressure from their partners" was a factor in neglecting contraception during sex."

Is that another way of saying "half of all teen boys feel that girls are insisting on unprotected sex"?

If so, I'm surprised by that.

29% have had sex with a girl they knew was drunk.

9 out of 10 said their cats preferred it. Drunk or sober.

Macaroona · 26/06/2011 18:30

Don't feel bad for them Peanut, they were wearing short skirts and clearly wanted it.

Just bumping this thread because it was very disturbing at the time and has been hard to forget.

But in the context of the Mumsnet "We believe you" campaign, I think it's worth saying that I believe Bristol Palin, I believe she told the truth about what happened to her. Believing women is difficult, it's easy to find reasons not to - if we don't like their mothers, or they come from a different ideology from us for example. Still, finding reasons not to believe them or to pick holes in their stories, isn't supporting women, it's business as usual in the patriarchy.
