Nick Freeman (AKA Mr Loophole), lawyer to the stars, had this to say in his column for the Manchester Evening News yesterday. A friend who lives in Manchester has e-mailed me the article.

Because yes, of course, if a woman is dressed in a certain way, she is only out to attract/lure men.

Arsehole.

I don't personally know any men who leer.
I don't personally know any horrible men.
I don't personally know any men who would be angry if a woman stopped just prior to penetration but I don know that most men might be a bit pissed off and frustrated.
Just as most women would because it's not a decent thing to do REGARDLESS of whether you have a dick or a fanjo.

So if none of the men you know are like that, smashing, why are you going out of your way to defend this bloke?

If none of the men you know are like that, what makes you think this blokes ideas are really valid and need defending?

When most men I know, and from the sounds of it most men you know, would also concur that this bloke is spouting some atrocious and quite scary crap.

SmashingHairDay - yes I'd probably be a bit pissed off too, especially if I'd shaved my legs for the occasion!

But what I wouldn't do is spout a load of nonsense telling all men that wearing tight jeans was irresponsibly sending out sexual messages and making myself out to be Wonderwoman for controlling my carnal urges.

PurpleStrawberry · 15/06/2011 18:05

I have to restrain myself every time I see a man in a really nice suit, so I'm afraid men won't be able to wear suits to work any more, so I don't have to fight the urge any more! Wink

For me, it's any emo looking guy.... they shouldn't wear their jeans so low slung. They're just tempting me.

joaninha · 15/06/2011 18:33

Cos those emo guys are actually showing their underwear- does that mean they want me?!!

DontCallMePeanut · 15/06/2011 18:41

Of course they do, Joaninha... All yours for the taking. Wink

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 15/06/2011 20:02

The marvellous thing is, you don't actually have to use words or listen to what they think about it. You can just do what you want to them.

HerBeX · 16/06/2011 18:24

I constantly victimise men.

I'm always wearing low cut tops and dresses. I force them to gaze at my cleavage.

Big fascist bully girl man victimiser, that's what I am.

Maybe he was the prosecution lawyer?

Or do you have to be one or the other?

Not quite necessarily, m'lud. His line of defence could have been that the victim was telling a perfectly true story, except that his client was misidentified.
