Since it looks like the first chat thread is about to fill up, here's the next one all ready and waiting.

Think of it as the gated commune with babysitting on demand and gorgeous poolboys serving the drinks :o

I think if we all went in en masse and explained at great length and articulately, including references to several feminist concepts, why we're not scary that would do it Wink

I am heartened by the number of lurkers though.

Yes it's interesting that politics was highlighted too. You can't help being feminist when discussing feminism, or political when discussing politics, and that does tend to generate debate.

Yes there are a gazillion threads, and they just pull out random ones to say it's a mean place. It would be like going into a library, pulling out Das Kapital and saying look it's all Marxist in this library. Grr.

AliceWorld · 25/02/2011 21:27

I wouldn't dare! I get fairly scared outside of here.

AliceWorld · 25/02/2011 21:32

Lenin - stop running round with the V's in there Grin.

I saw, twas a good thing (says she who has never managed to read a book for book club in her life). I do already have Fat is a Feminist Issue though, so maybe...

Hello to the lurkers from me too. Grin

Aww, I thought there must be discussion of that thread and here it is! Grin

I myself am fucking scary. I'm amazed no-one flees screaming from my mere presence, though I'm sure I saw dittany tremble in horror at my ignorance at least once.

It's odd isn't it - I don't find this section scary in the bunfight-y way at all but is that because I'm brainwashed?

But I do think we ever do all agree! (See what I did there? Grin)

I've had a real bashing on all but one of the other sections I've ever posted in (hmm, that says lovely things about me. Not.), but never on here. I think people only really seem to get narky comments if they come on here with the express intention of saying how crap feminism is - and isn't that as daft as running around the breastfeeding threads talking about how great formula is?

sakura · 26/02/2011 07:44

Someone posted "life's too short" on a thread in feminism. How about we all go on Style and Beauty and stencil "Life's too short" on random threads there Wink

Yes those comments piss me off. If it's important enough for someone to want to post it, who the hell has the right to say 'oh just lighten up'. Do they go and do that in relationships? Maybe they do Hmm

On a lighter note, I dreamt about you all last night Grin. We were all online, then there was a fire alarm so we all had to go outside. And obviously when you are all online you are really all in the same place Hmm so we met up in the car park. And none of you looked like I'd imagined, which is odd considering the dream was my imagination. That was it really. We chatted. Maybe it was my subconscious telling me to go to MWR and meet up.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 26/02/2011 10:22

That's precisely what it was Alice. We are all far more gorgeous and articulate than anyone could possibly imagine unless they'd seen for themselves. :o

LOL at the last 4 posts

I'm halfway through watching Black Swan online for free Grin
Why do I find the misogynist attractive? I remember watching him in as a teenager, when I was a teenager, and being blown away by his acting.
Black Swan is not a feminist film at all is it.
