Since it looks like the first chat thread is about to fill up, here's the next one all ready and waiting.

Think of it as the gated commune with babysitting on demand and gorgeous poolboys serving the drinks :o

can't you meet in a coffeeshop or a pub?

the coffeeshop where we meet is big enough and relaxed enough that the more hard-up members just sneak in a bottle of water and don't spend any money.

I can see transport would be a problem though, if you are further out.

SybilBeddows · 09/05/2011 18:11

I bet Dittany is right that you're not the only one.
there are probably also women who never go but would like to, if it was different.

aliceliddell · 09/05/2011 18:40

Sybil - Sheila's new one 'Dreamers of a new day' is v interesting about that era of feminism. I just posted on the other thread re factions of suffrag/ists/ettes so won't reiterate it here. Prince Humperdinck's group sounds, hmmm, interesting. Wonder why the men never set up their own group since they find it so intolerable for an all women group to exist? Oh, the sweet mystery of men...

the man who thinks rape only happened if someone was found guilty for it is there.

JBellingham · 09/05/2011 22:37

That is not what I said at all.

SybilBeddows · 09/05/2011 22:42

you said 'Being found guilty makes you guilty', which is clearly nonsense.

JBellingham · 09/05/2011 22:49

Selective cherry picking. The tone of the thread was 'my friend has been accused' ... ' well in that case stay clear cos there is no smoke without fire'. On a legal chat thread guilty and innocent are just judgements (literally) not facts. If he did it or not we can never know.

SybilBeddows · 09/05/2011 22:58

you are misrepresenting the thread, as indeed you were on the thread itself.

but I'm too busy tonight to explain the problems with your strange illogic - will pick it up tomorrow if I have time.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 10/05/2011 00:02

Oh goodness we're about to run out of room! Someone start another thread? I don't want to hug thread creation duties but might I suggest patchwork quilts for the next one, we need cosy things to sit on whilst we smash the patriarchy.
