Nah I think Nige is going to put women in some kind of farm, where we will be impregnated, kept until we produce a child and then let out to pasture till our time comes again. Or have I been reading too many dystopias?

don't forget, Nige didn't only say he agreed with loony man re the insanity of employing childbearing-age women, he was quite down on Christhemormon's suggestion women should be purely domestic, so I think it is ok for us to work after we are menopausal.

I can't come :( I wish I could. I am going to do the London feminist thing in November though and I'm going to the feminist parenting thing at the Fawcett on Monday.

Just watching 'The Wright Stuff' (to find what there was about the Turn Your Back on Page 3). And they're talking about The Internet: A Bully's Playground. Why is mumsnet always hauled out in these discussions and selectively quoted as if it's the domain of all that is mean on the interweb? Could it be anything to do with it being a place where women talk

Oh and of course we should be looking after our children too I think that reveals the misogyny I was suspecting.

(I'm lurking on that thread too Proles and resisting the urge to argue why we're not scary, as I don't think that is the way to not be scary)
