Since it looks like the first chat thread is about to fill up, here's the next one all ready and waiting.

Think of it as the gated commune with babysitting on demand and gorgeous poolboys serving the drinks :o

massive school uniform fetish. some schools have reacted by making really ugly school uniforms, such as thick woollen skirts that stop at the calf. I'm sure they'll end up being fetishized too eventually.

I think the companies that buy and market the clothes know that this is derived from a prostitute look. I don't think the girls would take it upon themselves to dress like that without it being pushed because for one, it's quite uncomfortable; I'm talking about black and fushia pink, in a specific style that sort of screams prostitute. Of course the girls just want to wear what's on the billboards and advertised everywhere.

sakura · 03/03/2011 12:22

LOL! that's true, they can't be fetishized. I don't think they've got hockey skirts. Just issue T-shirts and shorts AFAIK

The conversation has moved on, but yes Engelbert you were indeed responsible for that rumour!

Have to agree with the general consensus - nothing good can come of a calf length skirt.

I don't either SAF. But just putting it up in the tube station is a bit of a shocker really! And people wonder why we still have some way to go ...

I can't see link. Do I want to?

Saw my boob-job friend today. She is very keen to tell me about it. Me very conflicted - she isn't going to change her mind but I think it's :(

on positive side I had a talk to dh re the feminist parenting stuff we were talking about recently and my fears for dd and showed him some stuff about women being brought up to be nice to men and we had a really good talk. I really felt he 'got it' :). We agreed we'd rather have a daughter with complete freedom over her own body than teach her to be nice etc. So I think everyone will soon hate us for not doing that 'give Auntie Magaret a nice kiss' thing :)

sakura · 04/03/2011 01:05

I felt a bit sick reading that link LadyBiscuit.

Have just been catching up on threads and thought this a little too trivial to post elsewhere -

I looked at the M R A forum that was linked to on one thread. It was the vile cliche they usually are, but had a laugh that one of the posters had a Margaret Mead quote as his sig. Grin

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 04/03/2011 08:10

Was suddenly reminded of this poem today- just posting here because it's one of few I can think of that focusses on female sexuality, aside from love. I Being Born A Woman
