Background: 8 weeks post parting. PPH losing 1.4 litres of blood after delivery. Theatre sorted it. Bleeding non stop until I had Implanon at 4 weeks PP and a week later started Cerelle to curb the bleeding. Bleeding stopped for a week. Came back last night.

Just passed this >> see photo

What the actual fuck is it? It's like raw meat, not bloody and just laying there on the pad. It's about an inch long and 2cm or so thick. Waiting on out of hours GP to call me back but any ideas? I'm 30, third child and I've never experienced anything like this.

Give your midwife a call and keep it in some tissue as they’ll want to check it. I passed a large clot after DD2 and got a fright, called the midwife who confirmed it was just a blood clot but that looks more like tissue than a clot.

wineandwhine · 13/10/2018 17:39

It doesn't smell. It's just your usual meaty smell. No fever or tenderness either. Feel a bit off and have since birth but was told by the GP that's normal as I lost quite a bit of blood and it may take a few weeks to feel 100%.

I’d say some retained placenta too. Definitely get checked out.

SoyDora · 13/10/2018 17:41

Also agree no need for a warning. It was pretty obvious that it wasn’t going to be cupcakes and roses that had come out of OP’s vagina.

Gosh op Flowers

SoyDora · 13/10/2018 17:46

Reported why?!

Moneydoesntgrowontrees · 13/10/2018 17:46

Why reported? Confused

StateOfTheUterus · 13/10/2018 17:47

Reported what? The title including the word "pics" tells you what to expect.

StateOfTheUterus · 13/10/2018 17:48

Hope you can get some advice quickly. I can see why you're worried.

Redtartanshoes · 13/10/2018 17:48

Reported for what exactly @everyoneiswingingit Confused

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 13/10/2018 17:49

Part of the alien that was your child’s twin?

wineandwhine · 13/10/2018 17:50

Just called the midwife triage for advice while waiting on the OOH call back. She said it sounds like womb lining and that happens with a heavy period but they don't see past 28 days PP so I'd need a doctor to refer me to gynae. She made me feel overly concerned.

Am I overly concerned? Literally never seen anything like it but have two kids and a baby so i don't want to get two taxis back and forth to the OOH in a storm if I'm being dramatic.

Call midwife, I had regained placenta, and bleeding would lighten and I suddenly had a massive bleed when I thought things were settling down ended up blue lighted to hospital.

You need to be checked to ensure there’s nothing further left and you don’t have an infection. Mine didn’t smell either. Was terrifying.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 13/10/2018 17:51

Sorry, tbh if it is part of the placenta it needs investigating

EarlyModernParent · 13/10/2018 17:52

Why post to say you have reported this harmless thread? Just wait for MN mods to do their thing. Honestly.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 13/10/2018 17:52

I have pcos and severe periods but that is in no way normal.

Louislovesmud · 13/10/2018 17:54

How soon can you get referred to the gynae? Def sounds a bit odd, hope you're seen soon Flowers

TruelyTruelyScrumptious · 13/10/2018 17:58

Placenta- 5 days after I had my 1st I passed a ball like an orange-enormous, turns out to was retained placenta, looked just like that. Had to have a scan that found more that then passed over next week.

Polkapjs · 13/10/2018 17:59

I’d be going to ooh tbh. Just go to be sure

OhTheRoses · 13/10/2018 18:01

I think pragmatism is the order of the day. You don't have a fever, you aren't bleeding profusely, it's a bit gross but not foul. You certainly seem to have had sub optimal post natal care.

If you have a partner to see to older two I think I'd be minded to go to a&e with it. Best chance of being seen quickly by O&Gyn and being put into the system. And get there now, before the drunks roll in

Good luck Flowers

persianpeach · 13/10/2018 18:01

Looks like after birth but definitely worth getting it looked at, looks too pale and meaty to be a blood clot.
Make sure you mention you have been feeling unwell too.
Hope you get some answers and reassurance too.

therealimposter · 13/10/2018 18:03

Have you seen Alien?

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 13/10/2018 18:05

Blood clots don’t tend to be that defined
