Mine are:

Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart
Winona Ryder as Jo from Little Women ( she did a nice job but I wouldn't have cast her!)

MAd eye moody shoulda been Billy Connolly

Any part Jude Law has played shoulda been given to an actor instead.

Mamazon · 25/08/2008 23:23

Roger Moore and daniel Craig as bond.

sooooo wrong.

NotSoRampantRabbit · 25/08/2008 23:24

Kevin Spacey as Quoyle in The Shipping News (not clumsy, or overweight, or shy, or socially inept enough - by a long way).

No idea who it should have been - Gordon Brown might have worked quite well.

Gordon Brown for Mr Rochester too.

NotSoRampantRabbit · 25/08/2008 23:25

But then of course Gordon is Heathcliffe.

chipmonkey · 25/08/2008 23:27

Oh yes, Sean Astin as Sam Gamgee.

The hobbits were all miscast. Frodo much to young. Merry and Pippin much too suilly.

NotSoRampantRabbit · 25/08/2008 23:29

God yes to Jude Law.

Horrible in Cold Mountain.

But then so was Nicole Kidman.

Perhaps Boris Johnson and Margaret Hodge?

janeite · 25/08/2008 23:29

I thought Branagh was perfect as Lockhart (and I normally hate him!).

Billy Piper as Fanny Price was the most ridiculous mis-casting I have ever seen.

Think might go to bed and re-cast films with fools politicians.

TsarChasm · 25/08/2008 23:30

Ooh snap!...I was about to post the Billy Piper/Fanny one. That was bizarre.

suey2 · 25/08/2008 23:30

ray winstone as henry VIII
keira knightly as lara in dr zhivago

Threadwworm · 25/08/2008 23:30

Tony Blair for Gilderoy, obv.

puffling · 25/08/2008 23:31

Renee Zellwegger looks German, is American and gets English parts.

chipmonkey · 25/08/2008 23:32

I thought Hugh Grant should have been Lockhart.

John Thaw (God bless him) as Peter Mayle in Year in Provence - one of the worst adaptions of a book ever seen.....

NotSoRampantRabbit · 25/08/2008 23:32

Then there was Nicholas Cage in Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

But that whole film was arsetastic.

onceinalifetime · 25/08/2008 23:32

That should be 'A Year in Provence'

NotSoRampantRabbit · 25/08/2008 23:34

Yes Threadwworm - the perfect choice for deceit and toadying and all round slimyness.

Hazel Blears for watserface that makes Harry write lines on his arm.

Lord I can't bear the Blears.

SunshineSmith · 25/08/2008 23:34

The Golden Compass.-
The girl that played Lyra... oh my god ... she was soooo wrong!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2008 23:35

Aaron Eckhart as Roland Mitchell in the film of Possession by AS Byatt......just so different from the Roland in the book, physically as well as overall demeanour and character.

Helena Bonk'EmCantAct in anything she has done.
