Well... I'd love to meet you all!

Anyone who thinks they might be interested in coming to meet and talk books, post here.

There are going to be lots of dates, ideas and places and i wonder if anyone would be willing to organise with me?? It would mean private messaging and perhaps moving to WhatsApp or email at some point. Maybe 3 of us?

Many thanks to those of you …..

Boiledeggandtoast · 21/02/2024 18:27

I'm in the reticent category too, but would be interested in a London meet-up.

StColumbofNavron · 21/02/2024 18:54

Very happy to be third pair of hands.

I live quite centrally in London so can be totally flexible.

Im away until 11 Aug.

like the idea of this thread for ongoing adhoc catch ups too.

For those who are a bit apprehensive, in my experience you don’t actually get huge numbers on the day if that is reassuring at all.

TattiePants · 21/02/2024 19:16

I’m another who’s uncertain whether they’ll make it though it’s refreshing there are lots of other introverts as I always assume everyone else is much more confident than me. I’m in the NE so Manchester or London would both be possibles for me. Bath would be too much of a faff.

Midnightstar76 · 21/02/2024 19:46

My preferences would be Manchester, very iffy Lobdon then Bath. Manchester a lot easier for me to get to but London would be timely and costly. Great idea

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 21/02/2024 20:12

I too am a rather reserved introvert - sounds like there may be a quite few of us. I would possibly be able to make a London meet up, depending on dates and trains, which have been pretty unreliable here. Manchester would be very easy indeed. I wouldn't make Bath.

satelliteheart · 21/02/2024 21:25

My preferences would be

  1. London
  2. Bath
  3. Manchester
RomanMum · 21/02/2024 23:42

I'd love to come if I'm free! First choice would probably be London.

SheilaFentiman · 22/02/2024 05:56

My order is also

london
bath
manchester

BestIsWest · 22/02/2024 10:07

@sadik I’d be up for a Welsh meet up sometime. I’m very boring though.

Tarahumara · 22/02/2024 16:50

Hello, London would be easiest for me but willing to travel!

CrepuscularCritter · 22/02/2024 18:01

Sounds like a great idea. My order of preference would be London then Manchester with Bath being a bit challenging to reach. It would be good to meet the fellow MN readers.

Sportycustard · 22/02/2024 18:35

If this is a weekend meet up I'd be up for it. Manchester or Bath preferably for me but I could do London if I had to.

I haven't been to a Mumsnet meet up since 2013 so it could be fun

JaninaDuszejko · 22/02/2024 21:22

My preference would be

  1. Manchester
  2. London (bizarrely chesper yo get to than Manchester despite being further away)

Wouldn't go to Bath this year but if I was in the area I would, love Bath.

Palegreenstars · 23/02/2024 19:41

Ah what a fab idea, I’m always curious about who everyone is in real life. I’d definitely try and make it.

PermanentTemporary · 23/02/2024 20:00

Morning 50 book meet up people.

I spent an enjoyable time with a spreadsheet and a Brew yesterday. Results blurrily shown below - lowest score is most popular. And in with a bullet is LONDON due to a high number of second choices.

In fact first choice cities were equal - London and Manchester got 15 first choices each. So we agree that organising two dates is a great idea. No restrictions- come to both if you like! Apologies to the Western folks as Bath unfortunately had the biggest number of people who couldn't get there at all.

Next step is dates - @StColumbofNavron will post soon about that. Then we'll think about specific locations. Spring is coming!

And thank you Eine !

If we all end up siting roughly together and reading in silence it will be totally successful x
