Well... I'd love to meet you all!

Anyone who thinks they might be interested in coming to meet and talk books, post here.

There are going to be lots of dates, ideas and places and i wonder if anyone would be willing to organise with me?? It would mean private messaging and perhaps moving to WhatsApp or email at some point. Maybe 3 of us?

Thank you StColumb and others who are organising. Suggested London locations sound marvellous, I’ve never been to any of them so will be a treat! I’ll probably be travelling from home which is at least a couple of hours away so would prefer not too early a start. Good idea to confirm details off thread, I can’t think of best way other than perhaps if people pm you email addresses?

Bloomsbury sounds great. I like the communication suggestions, and the thoughts of a base for the meet up. I'm still hobbling a bit post surgery, so would welcome not too many steps that day. I'm currently amusing myself by wondering how we might identify one another on the day. A Virago Modern Classic in hand?

We thought we'd ask everyone to bring a book they've enjoyed to swap too. My guess is that we will manage to spot each other... I might bring a bookish umbrella of some kind.

I love the idea of a book swap! Maybe wrapped and make it a lucky dip type thing? We did it on a group holiday once and it was really fun. I suspect I'd like almost anything anyone on this thread brought along.

In Manchester today and visited central library. Honestly this photo is not the best but the building is absolutely amazing! To be a student and have the honour of studying here would have been epic. Wanted to visit John Rylands library but just no time today so hopefully this will be added to the Manchester trip 😁

I'll know closer to the date if I'll make it. I would have to make a weekend of it as it's a bit far to go for one day only. I would need to go with dh for company and for practical purposes as I don't know London at all and am liable to get very lost by myself. But we might just manage it! Fingers crossed.
