Don't post here if you don't want to know who dies and what happens.

You've been warned.

Well, MB mentioned you as one of her 6, but Colin Creevy died too (or at least, one of the Creevy boys, not sure if it said which)s0 that makes 7.

GhostofHedTwig · 21/07/2007 19:34

I've been in it since the beginning

and I DON'T COUNT?

AttilaTheMum · 21/07/2007 19:35

Think she was dead before Harry blew up the sidecar actually.

GhostofHedTwig · 21/07/2007 19:35

always shoot the messenger

Blandmum · 21/07/2007 19:35

I think it was colin. I forgot him

So upset at lovely fred dying!

loonylovegood · 21/07/2007 19:36

She was dead before being blown up, but was still not very nice!

crowdedgraveyardathogwarts · 21/07/2007 19:37

Omitted from the final edit:
"And just where the fuck am I meant to put all the bodies" cries Filch

Blandmum · 21/07/2007 19:38

'and blood is hell to shift!'

loonylovegood · 21/07/2007 19:38

Best line of the book "She's as nutty as squirrel poo", brilliant!

GhostofHedTwig · 21/07/2007 19:40

so, how did I die? its all a blur

DeadPersonalHouseElf · 21/07/2007 19:41

I was a good House Elf!
I will be remembered!

rosmerta · 21/07/2007 19:50

You were avada kedavra-ed and then blown up!

DeadPersonalHouseElf · 21/07/2007 19:53

At least I was given a proper burial!

eca · 21/07/2007 20:11

Did anyone get the 'eyes' thing? Harry having Lily's eyes? Missed it

JulesJules · 21/07/2007 20:12

*Cried over Hedwig and Dobby, but the humans...not so much. Possibly because I was really anxious that Hermione would die and so relieved she didn't. Liked the book, better than the last two IMO. Loved Molly Weasley's Sigourney Weaver moment!!

JulesJules · 21/07/2007 20:13

Harry has the same green eyes as his mother, Lily? (But not in the films as Daniel R couldn't get on with the coloured contacts apparently)

eca · 21/07/2007 20:23

JJ - lol at Molly's moment. I was really anxious Herminone was a gonner too, especially when they tortured her and then when Bellatrix threw that knife... I thought that was it!

But someone said that there was some significance to Harry having his mother's eyes?

StripeyBroomstickSpottyWand · 21/07/2007 20:25

Just finished it - phew.

I was right about Harry being a Horcrux. Was right about Snae being a goody.

But I thought Harry was going to die.

I do get the feeling that JK intended for him to die but bottled killing him off when the time came.

It would have made mroe sense if he had died I think.

JulesJules · 21/07/2007 20:26

Oh, don't know then, unless it's just that Snape gets to gaze into them briefly, just before he dies, Lily having been the love of his life... I think it said something like Harry's green eyes met Snape's black ones...Can't check, i finished book at lunchtime and now DH has it!

tribpot · 21/07/2007 20:37

There was a green meets black moment, and later a green meets red moment. Albus is the only child who inherits the green eyes ...

motherinferior · 21/07/2007 20:40

Right. I caved halfway through today and despite yesterday's Amazon order asked DP to get it when he went out to get bogrolls, and started reading it at about 4pm and finished it about 40 minutes ago...

...and I rather liked it. But agree about the deaths, and I thought Harry should take on his godfatherly role in a more, you know, iconic manner.

expatinscotland · 21/07/2007 20:53

Finished.

I found it the weakest of all the books.

I was disappointed. Felt like I was watching the final episode of an Aaron Spelling series or reading a Lord of the Rings tribute novel.

Best part of the whole experience was the queue for it. Some lively characters there!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 21/07/2007 21:00

My dp went to get it for me and he was amazed and horrified that some saddos dressed as witches to go to Asda and queue up!

I'm really pleased he went out to get it for me, but he got the wrong version, it doesn't match the others on my bookshelf!

rosmerta · 21/07/2007 21:01

I guess the significance of having her eyes was that if he'd looked entirely like James Snape could never have helped him, but as he had Lily's eyes, that was Snape's connection back to his love for Lily
