Should have name changed for this but I'm to lazy, oh the shame Grin

After seeing Mrscampbellblacks nick name on the s&b threads. It reminded me how much I enjoyed her books. Can anyone remember what sequence they follow before I pounce on the second hand book shops.

Was it polo, riders, jump.

Poor dear rannaldini was murdered most horribly.

I left darling Bob (who was very gay) am am happy at the moment with Sexton (and i think had a daughter with).

However my artistic temprement cannot be controlled and i am a martyr to my moods and whims.

DameHermione · 03/05/2012 21:38

I know far far too much.

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/05/2012 21:50

Cosmo and Rannaldini ?

Happily I found Jump in the charity shop in hard back for £1-99 to replace the paper back I lent to my sister

DameHermione · 03/05/2012 22:35

oh they are all Still in print,

PetiteRaleuse · 04/05/2012 14:22

I was going to start a thread about Jilly the other day !

I am looking forward to my upcoming maternity leave as they are perfect reading material when you want a good story but don't want to think too much.

I love all the Rutshire Chronicles but Rivals is my absolute favourite.

Am looking forward to adding them to my kindle actually I got Hmm looks from people when readnig them out in public in the past.

SuePurblybilt · 04/05/2012 14:24

I like Rivals best too. It has the best balance of soppy romance and splutteringly unlikely scenarios.

FayKnights · 04/05/2012 14:29

Love, love, love a bit of JC. Although picked up 'Wicked' in a charity shop the other day and wished I hadn't, it was absolutely dire and event the appearance of RCB and Taggie couldn't redeem it. Has anyone else read it? My favourite is Rivals, brooding Declan nearly usurped RCB in the gorgeous stakes!

PetiteRaleuse · 04/05/2012 14:51

Wicked was the first once I read actually - I must have enjoyed it enough to buy all the others. It was pretty outrageous, and compeltely unbelievable, but fun to read.

I admit though the others are far better. That said, I wasn't overly impressed with Jump but was recovering from surgery at the time and pretty bad tempered in general :)

theonewiththenoisychild · 04/05/2012 17:27

Got 10 books in a charity shop today 4 of them jilly cooper books so will be reading them soon. Havent read a jilly cooper book before

chocolateandcoffee · 04/05/2012 19:34

Grin I got riders and rivals for a pound.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/05/2012 19:35

There are loads of Jilly names on here from a thread when Jump came out. Sarah Stratton and Dame Hermione ....

letseatgrandma · 04/05/2012 19:48

I loved all of them except the last one-about the irritating Etta. It was so forgettable, I have forgotten the title! I only kept going to see if Rupert got any more mentions ;)

GiantPuffball · 04/05/2012 19:53

Wicked is awful. The others are good.

IShallWearMidnight · 04/05/2012 19:54

Tried ot read Jump the other week, but gave up as they style was far too irritating (the 14 yo explaining who everyone was to the new arrival - " thats' so and so, we call him Awful Pun because he's so whatever"). I was very disappointed Sad.

dearprudence · 04/05/2012 19:56

The later books have definitely gone off the boil a bit. Wicked was dire!

I still like the old romances - Harriet, Prudence, Bella and the rest, but Riders & Rivals best of all.

Get0rfMoiLand · 04/05/2012 19:56

I love them. The early ones anyway.

She has a great talent of starting off with ghastly characters (Rupert, Perdita, Abbie) and making you really root for them at the end.

My favourites are Riders, Rivals, Polo, Appassionata and Pandora.
