Should have name changed for this but I'm to lazy, oh the shame Grin

After seeing Mrscampbellblacks nick name on the s&b threads. It reminded me how much I enjoyed her books. Can anyone remember what sequence they follow before I pounce on the second hand book shops.

Was it polo, riders, jump.

I wonder if Jilly does Gransnet? Shall we link to there and find out?

Jojay · 04/05/2012 21:35

Remember this thread, Jilly fans?

Had me crying with laughter

skinmysunshine · 04/05/2012 21:41

Ooh no Cameron not Halle Berry for me - she's someone harsher. And she needs to be younger as isn't she looking for a break in Rivals which is why she gets together with the sleeze Tony (Ian MacShane?)

Lysander needs to be someone young, fun and dumb. Harry Styles?

There must be a role for Bill Nighy somewhere?

Ranaldini looks like Jose Mourinho in my head

fussbucket · 04/05/2012 21:44

100% yes for Ian McShane as sleazy Tony

skinmysunshine · 04/05/2012 21:44

What about Taggie and her parents?

skinmysunshine · 04/05/2012 21:45

Jojay that thread inspired me to read Jilly in the first place.

fussbucket · 04/05/2012 21:46

Oh YES Jojay - had me in stitches and caused me to root out Riders for another wallow!

MessyTerrier · 04/05/2012 21:47

Rupert Penry-Jones has to be RCB . Sorted!

SleepyFergus · 04/05/2012 21:48

Maud - a younger Stephanie Beecham.

Declan - ???

fussbucket · 04/05/2012 21:51

Right, just been rereading the old Jilly thread, we've GOT to find a part for Richard Armitage.

SleepyFergus · 04/05/2012 21:53

Richard Armitage - yes, he defo deserves a part. Jake perhaps? Or Ricky?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/05/2012 21:58

What about Helen Campbell Black?

skinmysunshine · 04/05/2012 21:59

I think Helena B-C could do a great Maude. Somehow I see Amanda Holden as Dame Hermione. Richard Armitage could be Wolfie maybe?

Found myself on the old thread funnily enough - diff name.

Jojay · 04/05/2012 22:00

Cameron shoud be played by the woman who used to play Jak Naylor in Holby. She'd have to ditch the red hair but she's got the insecure bitch thing spot on.

HairyButtMonkey · 04/05/2012 22:02

Loving Ian McShane as Rannaldini. Jilly Cooper just doesn't translate to TV though despite my scripting in my head :-(

ReactionaryFish · 04/05/2012 22:06

Gabriel Byrne is Taggie's dad
Rufus Sewell is Jake Lovell
What a festival of top totty this will be

SleepyFergus · 04/05/2012 22:09

Yy to Helena B-C for Maud, spot on!

There was that foreign doc/ surgeon in Holby City, he'd be good as Ranaldini.

dearprudence · 04/05/2012 22:12

I'm glad we've ditched Cumberbatch for RC-B - not nearly good-looking enough.

To be honest I can't think of anyone who can fit the pictures in my head. Except Jilly herself for Etta in the last shite book.

SleepyFergus · 04/05/2012 22:16

I know what you mean Prudence I have people in my head when I read them, but they don't really translate into real people.

Having said that, to me Taggie was a young Julia Roberts - all legs and fluffy hair, big wobbling bottom lip.

Nicole Kidman would be a good uptight Helen.

Can our budget stretch to US stars???

fussbucket · 04/05/2012 22:23

Yes yes yes to Rufus Sewell. Absence may be even longer than usual, how to fit him and Henry Cavill and Richard Armitage into the same fantasy is going to challenge even my fertile imagination.

Also I really should send the children to bed...

fussbucket · 04/05/2012 22:26

For the cuddly ladies, can we use Ruth Jones? She's just been fantastic in Stella on Sky1.

ReactionaryFish · 04/05/2012 22:33

she would be an excellent Tory Lovell.

hermionestranger · 04/05/2012 23:48

I'm back, had to watch 300 tonight for college. Dubious historically but men in vair vair little clothing. Nice. Grin

Anyway, YY to Jose maurinho as Rannaldini.

Brendan Gleeson is Declan.

Also huge YY to Nicole kidman as Helen.

Geoffrey Palmer as Malaise.

seeker · 04/05/2012 23:52

Rivals is wonderful. It's a proper book as well as a bonk buster. Moat of the others are fab too, but not in the sameleague

BerryLellow · 05/05/2012 08:25

Jose mourinho is inspired, so glad to have poirot replaced in my head!
