Weight Watching in 2019? Come and join the chat thread! 🥗

I've recently joined Weight Watchers as I have three stones to lose. Last year's chat thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd start a fresh one for 2019!

Anyone else out there making a fresh start? Smile

Oh gosh I went and had a look at Connect and it's all before&after pics and people saying the most dreadful things about their "before" bodies. I don't have an eating disorder but I feel I'd soon get one if I keep reading that stuff! So for now I'm staying away from that bit of the app!

Well... I did it. I went back tonight. 13.3lbs. The only way is down! 🙈

@doodlejump1980 well done! I think we have similar weights, mine was 13 something (can't remember!)

Me too. I need to be between 8-10 stone to be healthy apparently. Never been below 10 stone in my life

Hmm well I would take anyone declaration of what is or is not "healthy" for you (or me or any of us) with a big pinch of salt. There are many unhealthy ways to get to a small size.

Ooo! I joined on Monday. Need to lose 2 stone. I find weight loss really slow going though so have lost motivation in the past.

I'm trying to just think about small goals at the moment. 7lb will take me into the next stone bracket so I'll start with that goal and see how I go.

I just want to be able to fit in size 14 again! And lose one of my chins... and not cry when I catch a glimpse of myself naked lol

I'm off to Greece in July so this is the big incentive

Not an excuse but, as an explanation, I’ve been on a roller coaster as my darling daddy had cancer and sadly died. I comfort ate (and drank) massively.

I’m doing WW lite for the next few days as we’re still with family until next week so it is impossible to make our own decisions over what’s for dinner and there’s no space to exercise! I’ll be starting properly midway through next week Smile

Oh @Talkstotrees I didn’t read the thread before I posted. Cancer is an absolute arse. I don’t blame you for comfort eating one bit and you shouldn’t either x

I’m in my 30s and also an interloper @szetox but I’ve been here for ten years as it’s the only place intelligent women come to chat on the internet! Grin

Ttt, sincerest sympathies extended to you and I totally get why food and drinks were an escape for you. You're here now and, with the support and encouragement from these fine women, (including moi!) you will reach your goals!
Lardass....off to Greece in July? That is awesome and definitely the boost you need to stick with it, get fit, get healthy, and look awesome!
WW2019....I was with my family from mid Nov. til Dec. 30th and loved being with them. Don't we all gain weight with family over the holidays? My gain was 10 lbs and I can't stand it so, that's my goal plus 5 more!! WE can do it!!!
Raggie.....small goals are good and YOU did good joining WW on Monday. With the help of their new Freestyle program and all the women here, ALL of us will win the battle! I can "feel" it! :)

Wow, this thread's taking off! Just had time to skim read as I'm off to work. @tryinganewname thanks for the Instagram recommendations, I've followed you, nice pictures! I'm loving the zero point foods had a chicken stir fry with a bag of veggies plus some orange segments, delicious and the only thing I had to count was a splash of oil. Sadly overdid it on the wine front however so I was over points but I'm pleased I counted honestly.

I've got a new favourite thing right now: butter beans. O M G what luxury, they are so nice! i even are some straight out of the can I've got out my crock pot and have soaked some black beans overnight, going to cook them today & hopefully come home from work to a lovely bean soup.

I'm really liking to new WW vibe with the emphasis on wellness. I've had a love- hate relationship with them but I've come to realise that I always gravitate back, it's a part of my life. So I might as well make it work!

Good luck to all!

Fab Ooh I've never tried butter beans but might get some and make a stew.

What day is everyone weighing in? I've set mine to Friday's so I can use all my weeklies on a weekend then reign it in mon-fri which will hopefully equate to a loss.

2 days back 'on plan' and 1 day of just not eating rubbish and I'm 0.6kg down so guessing that's the bloat gone. 2kg until I'm at pre-Christmas weight.

The meeting near my house is on Tuesdays so I guess that's my weigh in day. I saw people on other threads write "WI" for weigh in, which j initially thought mean they had a Women's Institute meeting !

About 4 years ago I went to Slimming World for about a month (another January discount) and their weird words for everything wound me up!! They were also very funny about only weighing once at week at meeting and never at home. I just smiled and nodded as I weigh every morning.

In the Black Friday sales I treated myself to one of those fancy internet enabled scales which I've connected to my WW app. So now it looks as if I weigh in every day 😮

I've set my weigh day as a Saturday.
I'm really liking this thread already 💖
I'm not on any social media so can't follow on Instagram etc .. is there any way we could suggest meals, recipes on here as well? X

For people who weigh every day - do you not find that your weight fluctuates a lot? If I weigh every day I can fluctuate by 2-3lbs which is why I try to stick to weekly.

I'm just about to join up. I've been comfort eating since my mum died but that was 9 years ago and overeating has just become a habit now that I do when I'm tired and when I'm bored, and as a result I'm really overweight. I'm 30 in a few days so time to get serious. Blush
