Vegetarian haggis is actually very good. I think McSweens sell nearly as many (if not more) of their vegetarian ones as their "real" ones.

If by "swedes" you mean the big purple skinned ones, that you have to chop up to cook (and have a lovely sweet orange flesh) yes they are turnips - or even more accurately neeps.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 28/09/2010 16:35

hi guys. Smile may I join?

I want to take more control of my weight loss and really crack on with it!

Are you all doing it on your own, or do you do slimming world / ww or anything?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2010 17:30

welcome aboard

we are all doing different but somewhere between ww/sw and food focus (counting calories)

add your name and weight (if you dare) to the list

HecateQueenOfWitches · 28/09/2010 20:53

ooh, I don't know if I am brave enough Grin

I joined ww last week, to try to get some control and some structure to my dieting.

I have actually already lost 13 stone - I had surgery. but now I've lost it! Can only eat a small amount but making poor choices and actually managed to put a few pounds ON over the last month!! So I thought NO I did not go through all that to simply slide backwards!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2010 21:29

13stone

fuck me Shock

'blondes faints'

that's amazing. Well done!!!!! :)

if you have lost that amount before you can certainly kurb your eating and continue

I'm assuming you have had a gastric band or something like that?

HecateQueenOfWitches · 28/09/2010 21:36

sleeve gastrectomy. They did say I could expect to lose up to 10 stone and then I'd need a gastric bipass, but I have decided against further surgery - well, I will need extensive plastic surgery if - no WHEN Grin I reach a healthy weight, to get rid of excess skin. Will need thighs, arse, arms, tum and boobs and I'm wondering if I'll need my chin doing.

anyway, I've decided to do the rest myself instead of further surgery.

I am on day 6 of ww and really getting into it. It feels good to be in control.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2010 21:52

A whole body lift - I saw one of those on tv. Was amazing to watch

you must be so proud of yourself losing that amount of weight

I'm also doing ww. Lost 4 stone in 11mths on it 7years ago but 2.5stone crept back on over the past year or 2 Blush :(

so this year has been rather slow losing it :(

have lost 23lbs and got 10lbs to go

HecateQueenOfWitches · 29/09/2010 07:17

I'm not very proud really, no.

I would have been, perhaps, if I hadn't needed surgery.

I am just so angry with myself every single day that I let myself get like this!

I have lost 13 stone.

I have got 13 stone to go.

and then a full body lift.

Why oh why oh WHY did I do this to myself Angry

Anyway.

What are the rules? Do you post what you've eaten each day? Just chat?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/09/2010 07:34

first rule is not belittling yourself!!

you have done SO well and you should be proud and if you dare argue with me i shall thump you

you have done an amazing thing and doesnt matter if you had surgery or did it alone YOU have taken the first step and YOU have lost weight

no other rules apart from that :)

i pop on daily, often few times a day, have multiple school runs and often sit in car playing on iphone

there are the regulars and those who pop on less often

we pop on and talk about what we have eaten and general every day to day crap

all used to weigh on a monday, but ive always weighed on a friday as if a bad weekend then i can counter balance ww points sun-thur

though recently others have joined me

but wweigh whenever you want

as i said a few on here are on ww so discuss receipes/food value points etc

anyway i must dash to work, but will pop on later

GettinTrimmer · 29/09/2010 07:56

Morning all Smile

Welcome Hecate! When you meet Piste she always reminds us we're "in it for the long haul" we are sticking with it, the thread's been going since January.

Must dash, school run etc, will catch up more later.

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/09/2010 13:10

...and here I am!! Welcome Hectate.

GT is right, I do bang on about long haul because it is TRUE!! It's not about looking at the whole amount of weight you want to lose, or your starting point, it is about small steps, day to day, keeping the momentum going. Small steps over a long period of time = significant progress. We have really seen success on this thread because we are sticking with it. Yes we have all had ups and downs, but we are not giving up anytime soon!

So you are very welcome Hectate, stick with us! Different people are doing different things - some are doing points on WW, I am doing calorie counting, some like to write a blog of what they are eating, Blondes likes to talk about sausages. We are all different but all enjoying success!

We all post once a week, majority are now on Fridays, Murtette is on Mondays, and that really helps the momentum. There is no need to feel self conscious, because it is all about progress. It's where you go from her. Everyone is so supportive and if you ever need a kick up the bum, Blondes will do that cos she is fierce and does body combat

Here is the latest list, copy and paste with yourself on the bottom, then we just update and go ( in small significant steps ) on our merry way.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 30/09/2010 07:02

I had one of those - the sort of ring pizza, Salad in the middle = 500 cals? It was really yum and I feltlike I was having something nice. Of cours American hot would have been yum too Wink

prettybird · 30/09/2010 10:46

Had a bad day yesterday - an uncontrollable attack of the munchies :(

Not holding out much hope for tomorrow's weigh-in......

On the plus side, I have now done Day 14 of the Shred. :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2010 12:02

That's it piste. Was actually yummy and filled me up or was that the garlic dough balls Grin

pretty - well done for keeping up with shred :)

GettinTrimmer · 30/09/2010 13:11

Afternoon Smile

Pretty - Impressed at you getting to day 14 of the shred. IKWYM about the munchies!

Blondes - Was the dog sick? Daft animal!

Piste - I like the sound of that ring pizza.

I have been for a run, to get enough energy I had a bowl of muesli and x2 slices of toast and marmite, 500 odd calories. But did run for 65 minutes, probably just over 5 miles.

Have a good day all x

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2010 13:16

The ring/salad pizzas are ok. Obviously not the same as a really cheesey meat feast but eatable :)

no dog wasn't sick tho poo has a blue tint to it

I posted in pets and bella (a nutter) often pretends to be him and always cracks me up - she was also colin my dead catfish and got in the mn talk email :)

my claim to fame that!!!!
