i'm horrified to find I have put on 1 stone 7 lb in the last year.

horrified.

So, back to Weight Watchers I go.

I weigh in at 13 stone 8 (horror) and am taking it one day at a time with 21 pooints a day.

Mushrooms cooked in frylight are my life saver.

Sorry, vnmum! Meant to say welcome!Grin

Diaduitpuisin · 29/09/2010 00:40

Hi vnmum. Welcome! :)

Wish me luck. My weigh in is tomorrow. I've been hovering around -14lbs for a few weeks now and I'm so desperate to have lost the stone!

chipmonkey · 29/09/2010 15:10

Good luck diaduit!

Diaduitpuisin · 29/09/2010 18:00

Thanks chipmonkey.

Had my weigh in. I was down 2lbs. Smile So now I'm down 15.5lbs! Grin

Onwards and downwards!

vnmum · 29/09/2010 18:52

I have decided to join properly tomorrow and go to group as a friend wanted to join so i thought i'd go along. i am having a bit of an indulgence tonight with cakes and chocolate before i have to be on the straight and narrow

chipmonkey · 29/09/2010 19:18

Well done Diaduit!!!Grin

vnmum, isn't it funny the way you feel you need that "last supper"? Almost like the last cigarette for a smoker, I suppose!

vnmum · 29/09/2010 20:09

yeah, but i could blame it on my hormones this time. A convenient excuse Smile

vnmum · 29/09/2010 22:56

Well i had my cakes and a bit of chocolate tonight but to be honest it didn't actually taste that nice so i didn't enjoy it. that must be a good sign for my weight loss. i have left most of the chocolate for DH and the kids to eat, well actually i left more than 3/4 of the bar. I am hoping i have lost something this week that i've been doing at home but of course my official journey will start tomorrow.I will let you all know how i get on and good luck to anyone else who is weighing in tomorrow.

vnmum · 30/09/2010 13:39

weighed myself this morning before going to join a group and by doing it myself last week i'd lost 3lb.

i'm not sure wether i like to group i went to as it seemed no fun. The last group i joined was where i used to live and it was fun and i looked forward to going, but this one i felt like i should have taken a knife with me Grin

It was very fat fighterish, even worse than i found SW groups and the leader was a bit scary and looked over her glasses at you. She just stood at the front and covered the weekly topic but with no real enthusiasm. It may not be that bad over the next few weeks coz at least i'm going with a friend. Had i gone on my own i don't think i would have gone back to that particular group.

chipmonkey · 02/10/2010 20:05

Well, I put on a pound this week!Sad Riga is a very fattening city! But worth the visit!

kid · 03/10/2010 09:02

Hi, I think I may be joining this thread. I need to do something but haven't had much luck on sw or ww. Out of the two, I do prefer ww. I haven't weighed myself for ages as I don't have a battery for my scales. Not sure if that's a good thing or not though. If I'd weighed myself and seen it creeping up, I would have done something sooner.

Dh also wants to lose some weight bur he doesn 't like diets, he prefers healthy eating (grilled/boiled instead of fried) and increasing exercise.

I'd like to try running as an exercise but dh reckons my body would go into shock! Lol

I will read this thread for inspiration and advice. I would also love to hear any additional tips or advice. I won 't be attending classes, which is probably going to be my biggest downfall.

chipmonkey · 03/10/2010 22:30

kid, I have never attended a WW class! I just don't have the time, I work FT and have four children so really don't have many extra-curricular activities!Grin

This is as good as a class, IMO. Going online and making yourself accountable to other people is the same as going to your local village centre and making yourself accountable to other people. I also follow ipodge on twitter as the leader there is not backward about berating you if you fall off the wagon!Grin

Welcome to the thread!

kid · 04/10/2010 00:17

Thanks chipmonkey.
What is the easiest way to get started?
I've been here before, more times than I wish to remember, but I always fall off the wagon. I know I can do it, I just have to plan ahead. It's not that I constantly eat, I actually don't eat a huge amount, but I
clearly eat all the wrong things.

I have to have packed lunches for work, I also like quick and easy meals. If I could make extra and freeze food, even better Grin

I have a ww shopping guide and a couple of week by week books, but they are very out of date. I'm happy to buy some ww books, but there are so many to choose from and I'd like a bargain lol

chipmonkey · 04/10/2010 08:31

I get all my ww stuff from ebay. I have never followed a "plan" as such but try to keep to 3 points for breakfast, 4 for lunch and 8 for dinner. I find the first thing to do is to replace oil with Fry-Light, mayonaise with a low-fat version and to cut out buying bars of chocolate every time I pass a shop. I find the WW chocolate caramel wafer biscuits to be a very good replacement.

vnmum · 04/10/2010 12:16

i have just earned myself 2.5 activity points by doing a 20 min run, if i do that plus 30 day shred every day that would be 5 activity points. (i class 30DS as high intensity as i certainly can't hold a conversation through it).

Kid, i had a nice filling lunch the other day that may be ok for packed lunch.

1 WW wrap - 1.5p
1 med boiled egg chopped up in 1tbsp extra light mayo - 1.5p
4 or 5 slices of wafer thin ham - 0.5p
salad leaves to bulk it out.

That lunch was enough for me and then i just had grapes or an apple for a snack in the afternoon.

If you can get to a group as a one off membership is free at the moment so you may have to pay £5.50 for your first week but you would then get your books, have a chance to buy any books from the shop you wanted and then you don't need to go back, just do it at home.

kid · 04/10/2010 21:50

Sounds like a good idea to me. I will enquire about a group near me and also see if I can drag someone along with me Grin

Thanks for the lunch idea vnmum, sounds tasty enough for me.

Diaduitpuisin · 06/10/2010 18:25

Well, it was my weigh in today and I lost 1.5lbs. Anyone else have a weigh in recently?

vnmum · 06/10/2010 20:05

mine is in the morning, i did do a sneaky weigh in yesterday and had only lost 1/2lb but it is my time of month so that could have something to do with it. I just hope my chips and chop suey roll i had tonight (pointed in of course Smile) doesn't bite me in the bum tomorrow at the scales

TheFlabHasGotttaGo · 06/10/2010 21:10

Just signed up for GP referral today. 12 stone 10, eek.

Should be 9 stone 10

First meeting on Friday.

It has just gotta go!

kid · 06/10/2010 21:27

How do you get gp referal?
I asked at drs before about gym referal and they told me I'm not big enough!

I have since gained more weight but am reluctant to go back for fear of a knock back again.

TheFlabHasGotttaGo · 07/10/2010 10:06

I think it depends on the practice. I didn't ask for it - my GP recommended it. I had a number of serious health problems which led to my weight gain so she was eager to help. I don't know what their normal rules are.

vnmum · 08/10/2010 17:19

had my weigh in yesterday and had lost 1lb so thats 4lb gone in 2 weeks. I seem to be less hungry on this than i was on slimming world but i'm eating less. I'm not complaining though.

mumofthreesweeties · 08/10/2010 19:10

Hi Ladies, can I join please. Am also on WW and have been since April. I have lost 28lbs so far with 20 more to go. I am finding it a bit tough going now. I have WI tomorrow but am dreading it as I have been a naughty girl eating everything I could get my hands on. I weighed myself this morning and have put on a pound aarrgh.

Well done on the weight loss all, and if you have gained don't get hung up about it. It will come off

mumofthreesweeties · 08/10/2010 19:11

I started off weight 14 stone 12 and now weight 13st 12. My target weight is 11 stone 6 - it seems so far away

kid · 09/10/2010 19:17

I started ww today and already it's been a bit tricky as I haven't ben shopping this week. Also we went out to burgerking but I anticipated that so knew a veggie burger was 6.5 points so I had that.

I have just finished 1 litre if water and I hope I can do this.
