I can not believe this but I have lost 6lbs in one week!! mind you, I got my period last monday so perhaps it is only 4lbs, but still! I'm all revved up now, to stick at it.
I am quite hungry though. I just used to eat toast, muffins, waffles whenever I fancied them....

chipmonkey · 22/08/2010 23:28

Oh, well done Valium! No, that is nothing to do with your cycle, it's a real 6lb!Grin

Yes, I was a grazer as well. I would just casually eat toast with peanut butter, those corner yoghurts with chocolate bits in the corners, chocolates in work ( pesky nice patients bring them in as thank you) and I really don't think it occurred to me how many calories I was consuming mindlessly. It's only when I have to account for them that I notice!

ValiumSingleton · 23/08/2010 14:23

Yeah it makes you think doesn't it!? I bought a digital weighing scales this morning and I weighed out 20grams of wheaties (full of apricot) and calculated the points in them. ONLY ten of them have one point! In the past, I would have grabbed a fistful and thought I was a hero for not have 3 digestive biscuits!

In five days I will be making umpteen rounds of sandwhiches again. That will be a really challenge. At the moment I'm ok, I'm in the zone, mentally! But in five days the smell of bread might be torture...!

chipmonkey · 23/08/2010 14:56

I think sometimes people who blame their metabolism don't really account for all the little snacky things and probably don't move around as much. I work with a girl who LOVES food but is really slim.
But when I watch her in work, if the phone rings, she will be the one to get it. If there's a job to be done, she will be the one to hop up and do it. She probably burns off a lot of fat just by being a bit more restless than the rest of us!
But if you were just to listen to her talk about food you would expect here to be about 20 stone!

ValiumSingleton · 23/08/2010 17:18

Yeah... I know what you mean. Appreciation of food, quality not quantity, and not eating mindlessly.

i have a couple of very slim friends and the portions they eat are always very ladylike compared with what I'd tuck away. eg, if out for a meal, and we get garlic bread to start, I eat my share and whatever they offer me! as they push it away gracefully 'saving room' Confused ...

I had this one friend and when before when i dieted, I would say to myself, would Laura be hungry now!? would Laura need to eat again yet! bonkers i know!

Hello all, weigh in again. I have amazingly lost 1 1/2 lb this week despite being very naughty. That brings me down to 13st 1/2lb.

I had a massive roast dinner with two types of puddings and copious wine on sunday as relatives were visiting. I also had a chicken kebab on Thursday so really I am lucky I have lost anything.

I have been doing an excersise dvd which I guess helps a bit and walking rather than driving where possible. I find it hard being at home all day while the DC's are off. I go back to work when they do and hope it will help being busy and active all day.
Well done everyone, keep up the good work. It's great to be a loser!

Well done everybody!

Can anybody tell me how many points (roughly) per 100mls of white wine?
I seem to have 3 points to spare, and I know I could just not use them, but I would really like a glass of wine.....

ValiumSingleton · 26/08/2010 14:57

chipmonkey · 26/08/2010 16:48

I think 100ml is one point but you have to be careful with wine glasses! They can often be a lot bigger than 100ml!

ValiumSingleton · 27/08/2010 08:38

I know, the size of wine glasses! My Dad was looking at one of my enormous bucket size glassses and remembering (toldendays) when a bottle of wine would fill 6 glasses, and we laughed heartily at the skinflintyness of toldendays. Not all they were craked up to be.

Had my wine the other night, measured out 180mls and called it 3 points and I thought that was safe.

chipmonkey · 27/08/2010 13:50

Oh, I would have left it at 2 points!Grin

Are you pre-menstrual? I rarely lose weight the week before my period.

That happened to me after ds4. I was so shocked at the amount of hair I lost but it did grow back, eventually.
