Ta-da!

dinkystinky · 04/06/2010 21:48

Hmm Sunday evening excuses....

Rescue mission for aged relative who is ill...

BF back in town unexpectedly before jetting off again on Monday for work...

Bad women's problems...

24 hour d&v bug...

Am sure is loneliness but is still inappropriate - so you need to nip it in the bud, nicely...

Undertone · 04/06/2010 21:54

BF one is good!

I hate myself though - for automatically being suspicious of his motivation. he's about 50! I think it says something about my attitude to men.

tostaky · 04/06/2010 21:54

i know i have a problem with proteins but i was vegetarian for 15 years so meat is difficult + im not home so eating the way i want is more difficult (hence the overdose on fruits)
bf is actually going very well so i dont think my milk supply is affected but i will try to get more proteins in.

undertone - can you "accidentaly" meet some friends at Kew?

Undertone · 04/06/2010 22:01

oo I dunno. the park's so big and if it looked staged then he would twig that I was feeling suspicious of him and it would be awful...

how about tofu as a protein?

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 05/06/2010 08:11

Oink.
Have period and had Sleepover Hell to contend with (they didn't go to sleep intil after midnight the little horrors darlings) and have eaten my own weight in crap. Got pissed in friends garden last night on Pimms and pink champers , but Pimms has fruit in, so it's healthy, right? Parrrrty tonight so more drinking.
Sodding 11 st again today. I am NOT ever going to be over 11st again. EVER.

Help me back to the Zone please!

BudaisintheZONE · 05/06/2010 08:18

Wow Undertone. Diffifult situation. Yes he may just be lonely and want someone to do something with for the weekend but he could have asked a guy what they were up to. I'm sorry but he may well be after more. I would tell your boss. And yes do Kew but say no to dinner. Say you are shattered and normally like a quiet Sunday in to prepare for your week and you have a very early meeting on Monday.

Tostaky - beans and pulses also good souces of protein and filling. Next time eat the whole egg not half! Slimming World or WW good for a structured programme as Dinky says.

Food yesterday was good - last of my granola for breakfast with blueberries, snack of kiwifruit, yoghurt and 3 brazil nuts, soup for lunch, snack of flaxseed tortilla chips with hummus, dinner was a chicken, chickpea and spinach dish. I did have a mini Magnum. Friday night treat.

Going to a party tonight. Will eat something sensible before I go so that I am not too tempted by badness.

Dinky - am planning on making asparagus soup for lunch - sautee onions, add asparagus for a few mins, then add stock, simmer and blend??

cocolepew · 05/06/2010 08:18

I would tell him at the beginning I couldn't make Sunday, rather than at the end of the day.

What's the Dukan diet?

OP posts:
gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 05/06/2010 08:32

Ooh, and ouch to Mum's broken femur. Poor old Mum.

Dukan diet is French version of low-carbing. Sort of 'Atkins avec Bof et shoulder-shrugging.' I have adopted the idea of eating protein only one day a week (part of the maintaining phase).

cocolepew · 05/06/2010 08:44

Oh. Low carbs. I love my carbs but I know they're bad atm. Been eating loads of strawberries and cream and farting like a trumpet not sure if it's the strawberries or cream.

OP posts:
DukesOfTripHazard · 05/06/2010 14:49

Are you all having BBQs?

We are. But first DD1 and I are going to 'Street Dance 3D' I am really looking forward to it.

cornsilkcottagecheese · 05/06/2010 14:59

I am avoiding carbs - they make my waist disappear. Am still eating spuds though.

cocolepew · 05/06/2010 16:52

Corny I've just learnt from another thread that some fruit and fruit juice is high in carbs. Am I the only person that didn't know this?

Might be getting puppy tonight [squeals] her mum got hurt and her milk dried up

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/06/2010 18:29

Coke I've come here to hide.

I know they are right in my heart of hearts, but really is it so bad?

JackBauer · 05/06/2010 18:30

Hello, hello, crappy day zonewise, but bloody lovely otherwise, met up with another MNer on the beach with our DC's, 5 hours at the playground on the beach, much castle buildinbg, kite flying, sea splashing and eating of picnic food (mini quiche and banana bread on my part).
Girls are shattered, would have put them to bed early but a friend has called and asked for a bed for the night as he got stuck on a callout near us so they want to wait up to see him. So bang goes my nice quiet night whiel DH is at work, oh well.

Undertone · 05/06/2010 18:49

evening all - back from Kew (which was lovely but BOILInG)

Bit intense having to have a 'happy client face' for 6 hours. nothing untoward happened. At an appropriate moment I metioned 'my young man' and he said 'what - a younger brother?' and I was like 'er... no. My boyfriend.' And i proceeded to invent a career (IT) a hobby (photography) and a name (Guy ). he looked a bit crestfallen (hard to tell, really) and there was generally less hand-on-arm, etc after that.

have said that my hostess tonight is having us to stay over and for lunch tomorrow, so it'll be hard to say when I would be free... which seemed to work.

Phew. Thanks guys.

duckyfuzz · 05/06/2010 19:19

ooo undertone, glad it worked out ok!

I am a bad bad girl, led astray by DH who plied me with wine almost all day yesterday as a result of which I have had carb overload today, but will be back in the zone on Monday

SIL had a baby boy thurs night, so that's v exciting, looking forward to meeting him when I can get down there

cocolepew · 05/06/2010 19:20

Bloody Nora I'm being slaughtered on my puppy thread.

OP posts:
duckyfuzz · 05/06/2010 19:35

god coco its grim on there, poor you!

DukesOfTripHazard · 05/06/2010 19:35

I spent a summer afternoon at Kew trying to get off with a very gorgeous young man many years ago. I expect there's quite a bit of fending off going on the whole time. Well done Undertone. When are we meeting Guy

cocolepew · 05/06/2010 19:37

It's like the Spanish Inquisition.

OP posts:
Themasterandmargaritas · 05/06/2010 20:12

Guy sounds gay adorable. Well done you Undertone, I hope you've earned your bonus!

Coke, they are a fierce lot. I just want to say my 6 week old pup is a dream, he is in his kennel at night, no crying til the morning, no separation anxiety. He plays with the cat and our other dog during the day. Perhaps he may die next week .

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 05/06/2010 20:21

Hello all - back from hols. Tanned and fatter - been decidedly unzoney and put on 3 pounds, so back to the zone for me.

What's been happening on here - any earth shattering news apart from Coco having her eyebrows threaded?

cocolepew · 05/06/2010 20:25

He'll go psycho and kill you all with his vicious bite.

I prefer my dogs to be dogs not substiute children. knowalls

Undertone, Guy? Really was that the best name you could come up with?

I would have went with Butch.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 05/06/2010 20:57

Evening all - glad you had a fab holiday porridge. Few days of shredding and that 3 lbs will be distant memory.

Coco - sorry you're encountering rabid MNers on your puppy thread. Hope he settles in ok. Do not mention separation anxiety - currently going through that hell with my 16 month old DS2 (thanks for posting on the thread Jack - good to know someone has lived through it and survived!)

Undertone - glad the imaginary boyf did the trick. Enjoy the rest of your weekend now without client related anxiety.

Ducky - congrats on your little nephew!

Had a lovely day today - wandered down through west london to Portobello with the boys and DH, through there to Notting Hill and Hyde Park so the boys could play in the fab playground there and we could have a picnic then on to Serpentine Lido for a paddle and splash and then back home via Edgware Road. DH just made us a lovely watermelon, rocket and feta salad for dinner. All in all a great day. Have been relatively zoney today - DSs mugged me for my toast this morning, walked loads, had a veggie wrap for lunch and fab ice lolly, lots of water, and some yoghurt when we got in.

tostaky · 05/06/2010 22:35

coco - re:fruits everything that is not fat or proteins has to be carbs... is it not how it works?

dinky - it does sound like a great day out!

i had a good day too and ate pretty well i think. i did think at one point about eating DS1 biscuits but i resisted.
off to have a shower now and do the laundry before i go to bed...
