Oh HIlls sorry to hear you are having a shitty time.

Took DD1 back into school this morning (yesterday was inset day) and within 2 minutes DD2 had fallen and scraped all the top 2 layers of skin off her leg. So instead of park and me getting a bit of running after toddler exercise I am on the sofa with ehr sobbing on my lap.

Weighed myself this morning, Have lost 4lb in 4 days

ZoneArmatrading · 20/04/2010 09:42

Hills we haven't 'met' but sorry everything is tough. Bet you can't wait to get feckin' builders out what with everything.

ZoneArmatrading · 20/04/2010 09:50

Aaaaaaaaching today.

Didn't have a hot bath. Watched Blitz Street with DH under a blanket with a scalding hot water bottle on each thigh.

Desperate to shop but people keep sending work back to me for my next go on it. Far too efficient. I need the shops. Really badly. And like Noddy, I've got some vouchers.

I have also got excess belt flapping away. I think I may have lost about 4 inches from my (still very flabby) waist.

Cyb am jealous of your comments from the gym birds.

ZoneArmatrading · 20/04/2010 09:55

Jackbauer that's brilliant. Sorry about dd

AitchTwoZone · 20/04/2010 10:15

everyone is impressively in the zone here, vg. it's really shocking to me that i haven't just pulled my finger out before now to do something... i should have done this when dd2 was younger than 18 mos ffs.

BudaisintheZONE · 20/04/2010 10:17

Morning all.

Well done on such great losses coco and Jack!

Poor DD Jack. Sounds sore!

Hills - we haven't 'met' before either but I am sorry you are having a bad time. Sometimes everything seems to go wrong at once.

I am still in Dublin. Now booked to fly back to Budapest on Monday.

And am still in Zone. Stomach feeling MUCH flatter. Really dying to weigh myself on my scales. Sis said I should try hers but afraid it would weigh me heavier than mine and put me off. So I will wait till I get home.

ZoneArmatrading · 20/04/2010 10:22

Aitch my dd2 is 5 if that makes you feel any better!

AitchTwoZone · 20/04/2010 10:27

a leetle.

and yes sorry i meant to say hillls that i'm sorry you're having a really crappy time.

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 20/04/2010 10:32

Everybody leaves it after having a baby though don't they? With DS 1 I didn't do anything til he was 18mos - thought that I would just magically shrink! With DS2 the only reason I did something earlier was because I became such a fat biffer over Christmas and I couldn't fit into any of my blardy clothes.

AitchTwoZone · 20/04/2010 10:44

the ultra-annoying thing for me was that i lost weight during pregnancy both times (i'm sure it's got something to do with my pcos) and came out of hosp looking LUSH. but then the bfing HUNNNGGGGEEEEEER would take over, in combination with the fact that i am the world's worst bfer, and i would biff up.

my pal said to me the other day that everyone can carry an extra stone and still look okay, it's when it goes over that... that's when you really blubber up. and having lost over a stone now and feeling SO much better, but with certainly another half stone and possibly more if i'm feeling daring to go, i think she's right.

so what i'm saying is, i think the tipping point for me between that extra bearable stone and the jabba the hutt look is really stark. one day i look fine, the next not, and it has always taken me so much by surprise that i have turned to the pain-relieving bread basket for comfort.

BariatricObama · 20/04/2010 10:49

congrats to lg&t that is lovely news.

hills - soon you will have a new kitchen and things will feel better. in the mean time be good to yourself.

i am struggling to find my way back to teh one atm but dd is back to school to day so 'bring it' as su might say.

did anyone see glee last night su was magnificent, esp. the sarah palin crack.

aitch i was a huge biffer until dd was 2 1/2 and then decided i couldn't really hide behind the old 'baby' weight excuse! you sound like you are doing really well.

"I have turned to the pain-relieving bread basket for comfort"

BariatricObama · 20/04/2010 10:53

zone - who were you before?, i have forgotten

OP posts:
thehillsarealive · 20/04/2010 10:58

thanks all - felt like a heffer this morning (I am) and I still use the excuse that it is baby weight... except mine are now 10 and 6 so it is wearing a little thin, geddit???

Anyway I have had a lovely 'bracing' long walk with the dog, a huge cup of proper coffee and 2 cigarettes - I dont even smoke, but I bought a packet yesterday and I am working my way through it quite nicely. I should say that I am an ex smoker of 6 years. But like food, old habits die hard and well I will stop again once this packet is empty - better cigs than a fridge/supermarket raid i think.

Things will get better I know and the kitchen is getting there - end of the week it will be done.

Feck I am a right moaning cow lately, sorry.

BariatricObama · 20/04/2010 10:59

funny hills i stopped smoking about 10 years ago but always feel the urge again about this time of year.

OP posts:
ZoneArmatrading · 20/04/2010 11:02

Yes, me too last week with the fags urge. Weird. NOT GOING THERE. Bariatric I was/am Toots. MNing since 2002 mostly unprolific though.

thehillsarealive · 20/04/2010 11:02

I think it is when the sun comes out and it reminds me of fun times and relaxing things.

It is a stress thing - I am also Scottish, and I have spent the last few weeks up there, noticed that EVERYONE smokes, (except my father) whereas down here it is like a secret society, will blame my family.

BariatricObama · 20/04/2010 11:07

tis a filthy habit thought [battles urge to run off and buy some]

thanks zone!

OP posts:
BudaisintheZONE · 20/04/2010 11:24

I have never smoked but do at times wonder if I had started would I now be slim!

My 3 sisters smoke although one is now week two into giving up with help of tablets from doctor and they are all slim.

jenduff · 20/04/2010 11:40

sympathies hills - fags were always my stress relief and it was giving up that caused me to turn to food. Am still occassional social pariah smoker.

back squarely in zone - slice of ham and half an Atkins shake for brek .

dinkystinky · 20/04/2010 11:54

Morning (just) all. Hills - so sorry everything is so crap at the moment: hope all the bad news is out the way now and life takes an upturn for you. Good on you with doing lots of walking and still staying semi-zoned despite all the crapola being dumped on you.

MamaG - good luck with the bob.

ZoneA - pop a couple of aspirin and stretch and the pain will go away. Drink lots of water too is my top tip.

Porridge - will look out for the stick insect lady on the dvd on Thursday. Not doing it today or tomorrow (circuits this am so muscles fatigued already, bodypump and PT session planned for tomorrow but Thursday is the first day of plan - have it my diary and everything).

Whoever was talking about the Dukan diet - have to admit that when I was at my absolute lightest at uni (have no intention of being that stick like again) I used to just live on tequila, vodka and protein (mostly in the form of chicken) with the odd kiwi fruit thrown in to fend off scurvy. Maybe I should market that as the dinky diet

Aitch - my DS2 is 14 months and to be honest, with all the sleep deprivation etc I really couldnt have started to focus on losing the biscuit-barrel I put back on when I returned to work in September last year (mostly got down to 10 4 before returning to work then biffed back up) before he turned 11 months and started sleeping abit better. I think with kids around cocking up your sleep/exercise plans (speaking of which, Jack your poor DD2 - hope she's ok and over her nasty scrape now) you need to leave it until you feel you really want to go for it.

dinkystinky · 20/04/2010 12:08

Oh yes, cheers to whoever recommended taking your own food to legoland yesterday - we took a picnic (and sandwiches for the kids to eat in the queues - brilliant, killed the whinging and ensured they ate their lunch in one fell swoop) and boy was I glad when I saw how disgusting the food at the outlets was...

geordieminx · 20/04/2010 12:50

So things are so crap Hills. Hopefully next week will bring some better news.

Another dirty smoker here, I am thinking about packing in after hols. but given the choice between smoking 5 day and being a biff... well...

Got that pesky 1lb off this morning so thats my stone, would like a bit more off, am still 1/2 stone heavier than wedding [grr]

dinkystinky · 20/04/2010 13:00

Well done on the stone Geordie - that's you and Reshape now who have hit that milestone. Who next?

ZoneArmatrading · 20/04/2010 13:09

only 2lbs to go here.
