RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/05/2010 08:30

Bebejones.... You are officially having what is known as the munchies!!

bebejones · 18/05/2010 09:17

Am going shopping today so will buy lots of scrummy healthy snacks to try & stop me eating all the bad stuff! Feeling very full of cold still which sucks and it makes me not want to eat big meals so just end up picking all the time. V V dangerous!!

Weather here is beautiful today, just hoping it stays nice til the weekend so I can make DH strim the jungle back garden! Came home Sunday to a much rreduced tree in the front garden...and bits of tree everywhere! Is it just my DH, or do men always only ever half finish stuff that isn't important to them?!

Right, off to take some cold & flu & get ready for DDs music class!

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 18/05/2010 09:20

at Piste's terminology!

Munchies are retrievable at the beginning of the week Bebe!

I have banned myself from mumsnet for the rest of the day, house a tip and have to revise for my French exam next week.

Have a good day all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2010 12:48

Bebe. Yes the munchies tho these are often after smoking pot something you want to tell us ..........

Trimmer. Good luck revising

I'm still being good and hope for a loss Friday tho at friends for buffye lunch tom and out in evening so will have to try and be good

bebejones · 18/05/2010 14:27

Noooooooooooooooooooo!

Had pesto pasta for lunch. Having some cold roast chicken & salad for dinner. Been very good & been doing some gardening with DD. Must now remember to water the sunflowers now they are outside! Am so excited, have loads of berries on my strawberry plants!! Can't wait til they are ripe! I'm such a rubbish gardener & usually kill everything so this is so exciting for me!

Trimmer - hope the revision is going well!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2010 14:35

Love pesto and pasta. A simple low point meal but yummy

I often add chicken or ham to it

bebejones · 18/05/2010 16:06

I am shaking like a leaf, bloody cat just brought a bird in!!! I hate birds! It's been flying round the house & there are feathers everywhere, how DD is still asleep I will never know! Managed to get it out of the house, could really do with a stiff drink...or 10!

I love Pesto pasta with chicken, but got chicken for dinner so decided against it. I love the fact that pesto has oil in it, but you need so little that it's still like having 'normal' (ie. non diet) food IYSWIM?!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2010 16:36

Bad pussy cat!!!!!

And agree and pesto. It has oil yet good on ww

trimmer I tspn is .5p point. I normally have 2/3 so 1 or 1.5p worth

I'm in cafe waiting for older 2 while they are in tennis. Bubs had a cake and I didn't

dh rang and said he has made tea and I asked what was it and he replied pie. I said yummy what kind and he said

Sausage pie

can only happen to me tho tbh it is scrummy and low in points

GettinTrimmer · 19/05/2010 11:03

Morning all

blondes Thanks for info about pesto, I have a jar not opened. Good idea to put some sort of protein with it. Sausage time again?!

I eat carbs/protein at every meal.

bebe I am not very good with things being brought in by naughty pussy cats - mine in her hey day brought in frogs, mice and once a dragon fly. She is a strange cat, never killed them, just took them in the house for a visit

Nowadays she does nothing, 12 years old with chronic kidney disease. We have to order special food over the internet and put a pill down her throat every night.

I have pulled myself up a bit and trying to stick with 22 ww points per day. Just done 1/2 hour of Davina Fit and the 30 Day Shred.

Have a good day all - you're all quiet today!

GettinTrimmer · 19/05/2010 11:06

Revision a bit rubbish as well Bebe, big piles of washing to sort, and you don't want to know about my bathroom....

Hope you are feeling a bit better today

bebejones · 19/05/2010 11:32

Trimmer - my cat usually kills snakes! He obviously hasn't heard that cats are supposed to be scared of snakes!! Your poor puss cat, one of my mums cats has a thyroid problem & has to have a pill every day, she is 14 & has a whole host of problems. My first cat had kidney disease. He was just so adorable, we were all devastated when we had him put down. He was about 14, and had gone a bit senile You are so good doing your dvds I am so lazy disorganised, I never have the time to do it. Hoping when I have finished the work I'm doing for my mum next month I'll be able to use DD's nap time (yes she is napping again) to do exercise

Planning on pesto pasta for lunch possibly with some left over chicken. Got Quorn escalopes & lf chips & salad for dinner. Must just stay away from the cake!

Took DD to toddlers for the first time in ages today & 2 of the mums said how much weight I'd lost! It's so nice when people notice! Just rearranged my hospital appt for next week so that we can go again...teddy bears picnic next week!

Dentist this afternoon...hoping she doesn't find another hole, having DD has wrecked my teeth!

i have start again properly as of today and i really need to get back on it properly its just not right the way iv been eating im back up to 13st 11lbs i know its alot better then the 16st sumit i was last dec but i should be less by now and would be if i hadnt fallen off the wagon so iv slapped myself round the side the head and am back with ye guys!
too much gone on to catch up properly with everyone but you simply have to tell me Bebe where does your cat find all the snakes?! Do ye have wild snakes in England??
Well done on the losses and sts so far this wk and best of luck to the friday and saturday weighers

bebejones · 19/05/2010 14:42

PBM - just grass snakes! like this Not as big as that the ones he has caught here though. There was a very overgrown patch of ground near our house but our neighbours have cleared it up & put chickens on it. Think it disturbed the snakes as he has had 3 in the past month & normally you don't see them at all! Wish he'd leave the poor little things alone TBH!

2lbs on isn't a disaster, it'll come off again! Welcome back btw!

Blondes ? Oh my gosh blondes, I am so sorry to hear about your friends boyfriend. That must have been a real shock. I can?t even begin to imagine how your friend must be feeling but hopefully she has lots of people around her to help and support her. Well done on your 2lbs loss, that is brilliant. Were you asking me what I typically eat and drink? I mainly just drink water but sometimes have some black decaf coffee too. Having said that I used to have hot water with a slice of lemon in the mornings and I didn?t for the beginning of the diet but I am now because I can?t really see how it would do any harm. Eating, I had started making more of my own meals but as I have been cheating a lot lately when I am keeping to it I have mainly gone back to the Go Lower meals until I am back on track. I?m still having my lemon water in the mornings though to wake me up! Oh no, you must have been so mad about those jeans being chewed up. Lol on DH with the sausages!

Sarah ? That is interesting to know, I didn?t realise a product could be kosher in some shops but not in others. Funny cos I thought I had seen quorn in my local kosher shop but I must have been mistaken or maybe it has recently changed and used to be kosher. I must admit I hate marmite and can?t stand the smell of it but the kids love it and don?t think they could do without it. Yes a kosher Go Lower would be great! We normally keep kosher at home although I do eat meat out but don?t give non kosher meat to the kids (I know I am a hypocrite) but I bought myself a special plate for the Go Lower meals and I do feel a bit bad doing it. Yes I have heard of the Royal Beach, it is supposed to be amazing. I am sure you will have a ball.

PBM ? I heard somewhere a long time ago that muslims can eat kosher meat if they can?t get halal. Is that correct or do I have it totally wrong? That sounds really unfair that you had to pay for most of the dressings when you had the MRSA when it was their fault that you got it. They should be trying to make it up to you. I?ve been to Dublin a few times and also Kilkenny but was many years ago. You have been through so much lately so don?t kick yourself that you have put on. 2lbs isn?t very much and I am sure you will be back on track soon.

Trimmer ? That?s good that your brother recovered well from his accident. Hopefully my mum will eventually get there. She?s hoping to go back to work soon but she works in central London so the travelling is more of an issue than the actual work. Good luck with the job hunting. I hope the library job works out. Wow your grandma is doing really well, that?s amazing. I have never known of anyone that old before. Good luck with the French exam.

Laughalot ? That?s good that your DD is on the mend now. It sounds like she was in the wars. I hope the works conference went well at Skegness. I am sure you will be able to get back on track again. You are not a bad mum, your DD was with her dad and you didn?t know she would be poorly. At least she is getting better now. Hopefully the job hunting will work out.

Kazr ? Well done on getting into the size 14 jeans, that?s brilliant. I hope you enjoyed your child free weekend.

Bebe ? It sounds as if you had a very stressful time with your mum/ You are also not 100% and need a break too. I hope it wasn?t too much for you. Hopefully you can get a rest now that you are home. How did the jab go? I hope you don?t get any side effects this time. Is your mum far away to get the v cushion back? I so know where you are coming from with the munchies. Yum, that must be so lovely growing your own strawberries. Oh my gosh, that must have been horrible with the bird. How did you get it out? I would have been panicking like mad. Snakes in your garden, that must be scary.

Jodie ? You don?t need to stay away if you have been naughty. I?ve been really bad lately and must have no shame as I have still posted on here!

Piste ? That is brilliant about your size 12 jeans fitting so nicely now. You must be feeling great. I hope you manage to find Gok Wan. I know it must be frustrating having not much to wear but just think when you go shopping you can buy lots of nice clothes in smaller sizes.

Murtette ? Now you need eyes at the back of your head now that DD is crawling. It?s so cute when they start to get on the move.

I took DD to the doctor on Friday and it turns out she had tonsillitis so I was pleased I went and got her checked and it also meant I could go to the conference without worrying about her getting worse because she then had antibiotics.

I didn?t weigh myself this week. I cheated so much at the conference at the weekend. There really wasn?t much low carb that I could eat there and to be honest I wanted to join in with meals out and drinks etc as I don?t get out often these days. I sound like such a saddo don?t I! But I am back on track this week again and will be good from now on.

Poohbearsmom · 19/05/2010 21:25

thank god for st. Paddy
thanks guys iv been back on track today bought LOADS of fantasticly healthy food made wierd but healthy lunch and had fab baked white fish with loads of veg and a tiny spoon of mash for dinner and will bypass da mash next time as really didnt need it with loads of diff veg also had a salad with it and a few blue berries after and fell so much better tonight
Mels thats right its tot fine for us to eat kosher can i ask a stupid question (one of my many) can jewish people drink? I thought ye didnt like muslims but then i heard about kosher wine on the telly and was confused am often confused as ye here well know youv done sooooo fantastic mels your allowed a weekend off! Are you planning on gradually reintroducing some carbs as part of your daily diet when you reach goal or is it a kinda lifetime limitation with go lower?
Bebe how'd it go at the dentists btw?
Was your sausage good Blondes?
Hows da revision goin Trimmer? When you off on your french hols?
Sarah hope your havin a nice holiday 3 days of feasts sound good oh and mels too!
Piste size 12's that is brilliant fairplay to ya you will have so much fun shoppin this summer!

bebejones · 19/05/2010 21:34

Wow Mels - how do you manage to remember everyone? I don't get out often these days & I've not been out socially without DD since she was born (21months ) Glad you enjoyed yourself at the conference. I'm sure a few days won't have had too much of an impact! Your poor DD, I used to get tonsilitus alot when I was younger & it can be horrid! Hope she feels better soon. Jabs are fine, thanks for asking, I don't seem to be getting any of the really nasty lingering side effects. They make me feel a bit light headed a couple of hours after, but since I'm doing them in the evening I am sleeping through the worst of it usually feel fine by lunchtime the next day! Mum lives about 2.5hours away & it would have cost nearly as much to post cushion as to buy new one! I managed to get the bird to fly out of the back door, scared me half to death & I was shaking so much. It kept flapping about near my head! At least it wasn't a dead one, that's supposed to be unlucky! Don't ever see the snakes really unless the cat catches one, think they tend to avoid people & they are harmless so I don't really mind them! Birds scare the out of me though!! Odd!

Blondes - enjoy the sausage?!

DD was helping in the garden yesterday & today has a massive purple bruise on her face & splinters in her fingers! Oh well, live & learn! So excited about my strawberries, there are loads!! Just willing them to turn red so I can munch them!

OP posts:
bebejones · 19/05/2010 21:38

X post PBM - dentist was fine, she did Xrays, just for something to do I think!

Your dinner sounds nice, I really ought to eat more fish but DH hates it & it seems like a pfaff cooking it just for me as DD will only eat fish in finger form!!!

OP posts:
mummymels · 19/05/2010 21:47

PBM - Sorry I don't know what tot fine is! It's not a silly question as all religions are different but yes we can drink. To be honest I don't think I could not have carbs for the rest of my life. Once I have reached goal I won't go over the top but I will eat bits and pieces of carbs again. I have to admit I am not as religious as Sarah and we don't keep to the festival that is this week strictly although you have just reminded me I am supposed to light a memorial candle for my dad tonight so I have lit it now, a little bit late but I have still lit it.

Bebe - Okay giving away my secrets now so don't tell anyone but I go through and write notes on word then copy and paste but keep hush hush so no-one else knows has sad I really am! That's good you are not getting too many side effects. Do you notice they are making you feel a lot better or is it too soon to say? What a pain about the cushion. I have to admit I am not an animal person at all so any of that would scare me to death! To be fair DD rarely gets tonsilitis. DS used to get it a lot and had his tonsils and adenoids out earlier this year and it has made the world of difference to his eating, sleeping and breathing.

bebejones · 20/05/2010 07:42

Mels - that is a fab idea, why have I never thought of doing that?!

If DD hadn't been so attached to the pillow I wouldn't have bothered buying a new one, it's not like she is stil BF! But it's obviously a comfort for her & I am too soft & caved and bought another one!

It's a bit tricky to describe the effect of the drugs but will try! Basically the type of MS I have is called 'relapsing & remitting MS', meaning that the 'episodes' I have come & go. I have minimal effects of it really when I am not experiencing a relapse. So I am very lucky. I do get very tired easily & still have some residual numbness in my left thumb & right knee! But not really to the point that it is noticeable most of the time (it is worse if I am tired or hot). The drugs are intended to reduce the number of relapses that you get (by about 30%) they don't treat any other symptoms & as I understand it there are no drugs for that. So I'm lucky that I don't really have any other symptoms. Reducing the number of serious relapses is important as each relapse does permanant damamge to the nervous system & therefore aids the progression of the MS. So the less you have, the healthier you are for longer IYSWIM?! I felt pretty good, probably the best I've felt in ages, when I started the drugs so just hoping that they do stop the relapses although according to a MRI I had earlier this year, I had had a recent relapse that I was completely unaware of! Hope that all sort of makes sense?!

Don't want anyone to think I'm whinging about it coz honestly I am fine!

Got a busy day planned here, trying to wear DD out so that she naps! Going to walk to Tesco after breakfast & get some stuff. Then got a cake to make for my PG friend. Then off to get a birthday present for my mum from DD. Then got some serious housework to do & more sewing (when DD is napping fingers crossed) then will have to o pick DH up from work. Somewhere in all of that I shall have to eat as well!! Not sure what, the change in the weather is making me think twice about meals. Not really wanting hot dinners . DH won't eat salad so have been doing things that he can have with chips/veg & I have with salad, but I am short on inspiration...any ideas welcome!

OP posts:
Poohbearsmom · 20/05/2010 08:21

Lol mels tot fine%3dtotally fine your right life with no carbs wouldnt be much fun, not long to go now till your at goal then the odd bit of pasta or some of blondes pitta pizzas are awaiting you!
Bebe you dont sound abit like your complaining you sound like a very strong woman who is dealing with it very positivitly. I really hope the treatment does its job and then autumn '11 we'l be welcoming a new little baba jones tis a pity dh doesnt go for fish or salads they are so good for the warmer days, what about couscous? Nice and light 'cooked' with a vegi ozo, mixed up with chicken and raisins simple but yum... Or i do a nice sliced potatoes, onions and tomatoes layer thingy (in stock) in the oven which i put chick joints on top after an hour tis very yum and has a summery feel i think?!

Poohbearsmom · 20/05/2010 08:24

Dono wats wrong wit my phone da symbols keep going mad it looks grand then i press add message and it goes loola in the process! Mels i ment tot fine equals totally fine...

bebejones · 20/05/2010 08:27

PBM - have bought some couscous, might make that up to have for dinner. Will get some chicken in Tesco!

Really must get off fat backside MN and do my 'chores'!
