im weighing in at 12st 11 which is way to big for my 5'2 height, im a size 16.....
going on my hols in 7weeks and i have been off and on dietingfor the past 6 weeks, losing half a stine putting back on etc.
well enough is enough.....
i am HUGE and really down about it....
i would love to lose as much as poss in the 7 weeks but have very little willpower.
my bmi is about 30-31, and apparently my "ideal" weight should be 8-9 stone....
but i would be happy at 10 half-11 stone....i start different diets conatantly
1 week its slimming world, then next i calorie count
really want someone to kick me up the arse!

good god em, what have we done to ourselves we're bigger now than we were to start with, id actually maintained my 13.2 weight for quite a while before then..i blame the bloody low carb thing, it sent me in the other direction. (sorry i know its working for lots of you.) On another note...CONGRATULATIONS!!! All that planning to do you wont have time to eat! I reckon you could lose half a stone by then, have a spray tan, tone up doing some exercise and you'll look and feel a million dollars! Easter is well over now, dh is back at work on Monday so I'll send in the chocolate with him. Plus from the beginning of May my working day is going to be 8 - 6 Mon - Fri so I hopefully wont have time to eat!
I have no idea what my diet strategy is now. I am watching my carbs now and only going to have what I call natural ones like sweet potatoes and fruit occasionally. I think its safe to say that chocolate is out the window. Apart from that I am going to eat lean meats, salads, lots of veggies and am going to start by walking 2 miles every evening and then the plan is to do that and up it every week with a bit more exercise like boxercise, yoga. I am going on holiday and havent had one like this for about 10 years so I want to look and feel good for it. Hopefully now its lighter and the weather is better we will get out more. Im not going to weigh myself for a while because Id like to get back to starting weight..I'll weigh when I feel right again. Lets get back on it Em!!! x

Welcome back Em83, come on girls we can do this. I had a pig out 2 weeks ago and put on a pound, have slightly recovered and weighed myself last Friday and lost 2 1/2 lb. So only 1 1/2 pound loss in 2 weeks.

However I am staying strong and my GoLower counsellor has really motivated me again when I called them today. Got another delivery due end of this week and she is going to change some of my meals to help add variety to my diet.

So far 37 lb off in 12 weeks!
I surprise myself I have stuck to this for 12 weeks! Really starting to notice the difference in my face now only 1 double chin not 2 anyomore Ha ! Ha!

em83 · 20/04/2010 09:10

thanks em83, I think is it a combination of will power but more importatnly finding the right way to eat for me. I have one of my friends to thank for introducing me to GoLower after watching her follow it and literally shrink before my eyes in a number of weeks, and she has kept it all off!

TBB - don't beat yourself up, hope you enjoyed your beans on toast and well done for getting back on track.

woahthere · 21/04/2010 09:41

erm, madness has happened, 5 days of eating low carbs and power walking has got me back down to 13 stone again. Thats crazy though isnt it, how can it be so easy for me to gain half a stone and hten lose it again. Whatever way Im happy so Im going to carry on! I think this is def the way for me to go...no choc, no crisps, no cake, bread, pasta, rice. Just lean meat, cheese, salad every lunch, veggies and if im fed up some fruit. Am really chuffed...the walking every evening definately helps. i think what im doing is probably similar to golower but because ive not banned myself from having carbs i dont crave them so much. Oh but I have still been drinking wine though! heehee.

em83 · 21/04/2010 21:43

way to go woahthere i got weighed yesterday and iv lost about 3 lb , however im on my period .... maybe its more, will get weighed at weekend !

Well done both of you that is brilliant! Keep it up and keep posting how you are doing. I haven't eaten much today, feeling a bit run down and tired. DD still waking couple of times a night and guzzling full bottles. And poor DS has fractured his arm! Only a slight hairline fracture near his elbow and as he is only 3 1/2 too young to do anything about it. So lots of calpol, cuddles and the promise of MacD's tomorrow and new toy!

I am off for a little break minus DH and the children this weekend. Going to stay at my best friends for a long weekend as she is having a big 40th birthday bash, can't wait for the break but will miss my little darlings. Am going to try really hard to be good. I have already packed my little food bag with all my GoLower goodies. Luckily my friend doesn't eat chocolate so there won't be cupboards of that to tempt me!

woahthere · 22/04/2010 10:13

yay em, we'll get it back on track now. The sun is shining and there is no excuse to not get out there and no excuse to slob in nad eat comfort food either (unfortunately it is just the right kind of weather for a nice cold glass of wine after a long hard day!) i still havent caved and had anything naughty and dont much feel like it either and I ve kept up my walk s nearly every day apart from tuesday whe ndh was at football and I worked late so it was impossible. Im getting quicker at it too. Next week Im going to introduce some other exercise so my body doesnt get too used to doing the one same thing. I figure that if I do extra little things every week I should start to lose weight quicker.
simmo...sounds like youve had a nightmare of a week, enjoy your break you deserve it!

higgle · 26/04/2010 16:58

I'm 5'3" and was 12st 8 on 1 February and am now 11st 3lb, I'm going to keep on until I am just under 9 st. which seems to suit me best. Already I'm feeling a million times better and much happier to look at myself in the mirror. I would find a low carb diet very difficult, I'm old fashioned and just count calories. I have cereal and soya milk for breakfast, or a banana on toast. Box of salad with corn cakes and either cottage cheese or humous for lunch and a smallish helping of whatever everyone else is having with lots of veg in the evening. It doesn't work for me if I don't exercise so I do Step, Aerobics and yoga classes each week and I'm doing The Guardian 0 - 5 km running course over 8 weeks, which means going out first thing 3 mornings a week. I've tried Weightwatchers and Rosemary Conley in the past but actually think that the boredom of attending meetings eventually makes me give up and I'm better on my own.

I'm 53 and I thinkk that it just isn't worth it trying to lose lots of pounds very quickly as you just end up looking ill and your face gets saggy, I'm just pleased that I'll look so much better on holiday this year than last year.

simmo39 · 27/04/2010 22:36

How is it going ? Weighed myself before I went on Friday morning, 3 lb off
Weekend was fab had a great time and lovely long lays ins. Did have a few too manys wines though and a chinese Feeling a bit bloated but will get back on track. Haven't done any sit ups or my DVD and can really notice already that things are starting to sagg again!
Am not going to let any of this detere me, I will carry on as over half way now....
Hi Higgle - when is your holiday?

travellingwilbury · 28/04/2010 07:42

Can I come back ?

I did really well on the low carb thing but I got bored and put a few pounds back on . I am starting again doing the more do able eating healthier and trying to move more .

Only started again yesterday but I am hoping to stick to it this time .

em83 · 28/04/2010 11:18

simmo39 · 28/04/2010 21:13

welcome back travellingwilbury, and congrats em83! Not heard of that pill and sensible of you to thoroughly check it out. I have never tried any pills, always worry about side effects. Maybe stick to your slimming world

What a beautiful day, was lovely on the walk to school today, then had a lovely wander round town and DD snoozed in her buggy. Tried on a few clothes in next but nothing fitted right. All their longer tops are too tight and slim fitting and just cling to my bumps! And the ones that flare out at the bottom just make my bum look even bigger.

There are some strange styles in the shops this year. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get reasonably priced clothes they will see my through the summer, and hopefully as I shrink as I am hoping to reach goal by August.....

em83 · 29/04/2010 08:14

i always find next is really big fitting for kids and small fitting for adults loldont know what your budget is but new look is reasonably cheapish for clothes, what style are you looking for ?
leggings are still very in and very nice for summer....

also la redoute have a deal on at the minute, its £15 off a £20 spend ,i have tried and it works..promo code number 0105,advert code RM2015
,got some nice summery things in.

and tesco clothing is 25% off clothing for a limited time only, discount applied at online checkout... they got some lovely summer clothes ,i actually got loasds for my holidays next week.

hope this helps

Thanks for the welcome

Day 3 of being good again and so far so good (fingers crossed it lasts) I am even boring myself now moaning about my weight . I just have to get on with it . My goal is that when I go to see my mum at the end of July I have lost a stone and half . That is do able isn't it ?

em83 · 29/04/2010 09:55

very doable travellingwilbury , if i tried hard enough i could lose half a stone for when i go on holiday and get married next week, but i loack motivation, however yesterday went very well

OP posts:
simmo39 · 29/04/2010 22:20

thanks for the advice Em, will check out Newlook and Tesco's this week. Have got the recent redoute catalogue so will have a look. Thanks for codes thats a great offer!
Leggings are a life saver, but I always stick to my rule of long tops that cover my bum. I don't even think short tops with leggings looks good on skinny girls!
where are you getting married?

travellingwilbury - I think your target is achievable, just take it a week at a time...

em83 · 30/04/2010 19:17

just thelocal registery office , just a small do !

my calves are huge so im always on the lookout for disguisable clothing lol !
