im weighing in at 12st 11 which is way to big for my 5'2 height, im a size 16.....
going on my hols in 7weeks and i have been off and on dietingfor the past 6 weeks, losing half a stine putting back on etc.
well enough is enough.....
i am HUGE and really down about it....
i would love to lose as much as poss in the 7 weeks but have very little willpower.
my bmi is about 30-31, and apparently my "ideal" weight should be 8-9 stone....
but i would be happy at 10 half-11 stone....i start different diets conatantly
1 week its slimming world, then next i calorie count
really want someone to kick me up the arse!

I have just been to my normal playgroup which involves a short 15 minute walk there and back...I feel awful, had no energy on the way back up and just feel like vomitting...will someone please tell me this is worth it and that its going to get better really soon please.x

GypsyMoth · 24/03/2010 13:16

i dont know!! are you sure its not something else? a virus or other illness maybe coinciding with lc?

hope you feel better soon, drink some water...

simmo39 · 24/03/2010 22:36

em83 - everything is worked out for me by Golower, all the meals are calculated. Not everything is zero carb but almost. Once I start to make all my own food (the counsellor service helps you with this) I will be continuing to maintain a LC diet.
Their website is golower.co.uk if you are interested or give them a call for no obligation chat and costing. I can get you 10% off if you want to give it a try......

woahthere - stick with it, it is probably just your body going into ketosis it will pass. As suggested drink plenty of water, it does help flush out the ketones....

woahthere · 25/03/2010 12:29

thanks 3 blondeboys and simmo, i feel a bit better today and have been drinking lots of water, woke up with a headache though. But must say feeling a lot brighter. I just accidentally scuppered my self by having a cup of tea with....gasp...skimmed milk in it. i had a friend round made her a tea and just made and drank one myself without thinking! does that have loads of carbs in it then? will i have just buggered it all up?

GypsyMoth · 25/03/2010 12:32

i doubt a splash of milk will make much difference! i'm loving the cream in my coffee! dont think i can go back to milk now ever again

i strangely copied you last night! had a headache too. drank some water and went to bed, feel fine this morning. finding i need to go shopping alot, and kids keep pinching my food....2 whole cucumbers gone in 2 days.

going to drink more today. tis 'time of the month her' so scales are only showing loss of about a pound.

woahthere · 25/03/2010 17:38

oh my god, the kids are bringing easter eggs home from school, the desire is unbelievable. Its the hardest thing ever making them their snack too hot buttered toast with honey, apples, bananas....I hardly ever ate apples before but I now want one more than I thought possible. I am 3 days in and don't know whether to weigh myself yet or wait a bit longer...I tend to get disheartened easily...but then again maybe i will be encouraged to carry on. One thing is for sure, I usually have terrible ibs....have not had any since i started...who knew!

travellingwilbury · 25/03/2010 17:42

I would def weigh yourself tomorrow , you should have lost a couple of pounds I reckon .

I weighed myself this morning and today is day 4 and I am 5 pound down

woahthere · 25/03/2010 19:09

oooh oooh oooh, i m so excited...please let me have lost weight or i might cry! 5lb is un-bel-ievable...it takes me 6 months to lose that usually! Have you been exercising as well?

simmo39 · 25/03/2010 21:06

Woahthere - hold on if you can till the morning then weight yourself, I am quite excited for you. You must post how well you have done. Great about the positive effect on your IBS!

Had a good food day today, started with eggs & bacon, coconut bar snack mid morning. Brocolli and blue cheese soup for lunch with small salad, some chicken pieces and cheese for snack in the afternoon, chicken and leeks in a cheese sauce for dinner (added some cauliflower to this as goes well with the cheese sauce), and going to eat a packet of smokey bacon go lower crunch soon (bit like quavers). As you can imagine haven't felt hungry yet today!

Weight in for me is tomorrow morning so lets compare results

GypsyMoth · 25/03/2010 21:17

That's a good day foodwise simmo! I doubt I'd be hungry either.

Have had alot of celery today, for some reason I really wanted it!

simmo39 · 25/03/2010 21:19

Ha!Ha! well its better than craving chocolate

travellingwilbury · 26/03/2010 06:41

woahthere , no more excercise than usual . I did go for a walk on tuesday which was about 3 miles and normally I march round and harldy feel it but tbh I was knackered . I am feeling a lot better today . I have been feeling a bit sluggy on this diet but more energy today and yesterday .

Good luck for weigh in today .

woahthere · 26/03/2010 13:38

Started at 13.2, weighed myself this morning and am 12.13 which means I lost 3 lbs...I am pleased sort of but I feel really crappy and ill today and am wondering if it is worth it, Ive also not had a number 1 since I started and am thinking it cant be good for you...no wonder I feel like shit, im full of it! Still feel sick as well. I reckon once I have a poo I'll be about half a stone lighter!!
I agree about the feeling knackered after walking. Usually Im really energetic and walk everywhere but I am finding myself absolutely fatigued after walking short distances. Perhaps I have a bug or something and its a coincidence. Am going to weigh tomorrow and see how Im getting on. glad you feel a bit better wilbury.

GypsyMoth · 26/03/2010 14:18

well i have lost 3 lbs too...am pleased, but its going to be hard work!!

have got quite alot of energy, housework all done and started spring cleaning as weather means we cant get out much!

need some new food ideas??

simmo39 · 26/03/2010 22:52

Well done woahthere I know its hard to begin with but try if you can to persevere. I felt tired in the beginning, its your body de toxin and you need to have a clean slate so to speech to start fresh from.
3lb is excellent well done to both of you. I also lost 3 lb this week so am really pleased, not as good as last week but still a good loss.
Weekends are harder, going out tomrrow night on a school reunion, have offered to drive so I won't be tempted to drink. I don't think there will be any food. Also can't them get drunk and make a fool of myself in front of all my old class mates!

twinkle183 · 27/03/2010 18:01

Hi ya girlies... please let me join!!!

I have 3 stone to loose by August... dh and I have had a bet as both of us have weight to loose! He is going away for 5 months on deployment so I said that if I managed to loose the 3 stone then we can go to Las Vegas which is where I want to go or if I don't then we go to Scotland fishing which is where he wants to go...

Have ordered the 30 day shred which should come tomorrow am going to try and cut out carbs.. any ideas on meals for me... am a great lover of egg, chicken and fish!!!

Have tried ww but always manage a week and then fall off the wagon....

I need HELP!!!!!

woahthere · 27/03/2010 18:19

hi twinkle, id like to lose about 3 stone too. What is 30 day shred, hold on I'll just google it...aaah, i see its a dvd. So far for meals Ive been having - eggs for breakfast, some kind of salad and meat for lunch with mayo and things like roast chicken and green veg for tea, bit boring really but ive been so busy ive not had time to come up with any big ideas! There is another low crb thread on here which might be better for things like that. Ive had serious wobbles about low carbing today. I have stuck to it rigidly nad so far (am on 5th day) have lost 3lbs then put 1 back on (weighed myself this morning) have felt seriously nauseous, cross tempered and dizzy. Im waiting for a) the weight to start magicly whizzing off me or and b) to stop feeling so ill. Its so hard...I want fruit and it doesnt seem right that i CANT HAVE IT!

How long did you feel like this simmo?

woahthere · 27/03/2010 18:21

but...i have still not got ibs AND I did suffer with terrible swelling in my legs and ankles and I noticed last night it seems to have gone...you can actually see some shape to my legs!

em83 · 27/03/2010 19:34

well done on the weight loss you guys
we must be doing something right !

*em838 I would be interested in having a look if you don't mind forwarding it on.. I need to loose the weight and fast as I have spina bifida occulta and lets just say the extra weight is causing havoc....!!!

Email address is [email protected] I'll see if I can give it a go and see if it works...

Am also on the depo injection which puts on weight... so feel like I am climbing everest at the moment.. nothing seems to work so I'll give anything a try!

woahthere · 28/03/2010 09:50

well i have weighed my self again this morning and guess what....no weight loss which means a grand total of 2 lb in 6 days which is akin to any diet really. The amount of dedication that goes into not eating carbs and eating lots of meat, fat and cheese is just not sitting right with me anymore. It seemed the perfect thing for me because I love meat and stuff but not anymore, Ive woken up with a headache again and I need to be healthy to look after my kids so Im going to reintroduce the carbs.
Yesterday morning my son was quizzing me about how much fat there was in food. Im there telling him its all about balance and there is some fat in some foods but thats ok as long as we try and eat unprocessed foods the majority of the time eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg etc...all the time thinking what a hypocrite I am. Then we were out in town and it was lunch time. My family all sat eating their lunch while I sipped a coffee (there was nothing low carb at all!) I just dont think its setting a very good example to my children, and if thats the case well its not really very good at all is it? I was all buoyed up by the stories on here of 10 - 15lb weight loss in 2 weeks but its not working for me and believe me I have been following it to the letter.
I do agree that low carb is good and that its a good idea to eat protein to fill you up, but Im not easy with the stuffing yourself with cheese, cream in your coffee bit. The amount of dedication it takes to stick to this feels like having an eating disorder and if I can manage this then I can manage to just not eat loads of shit instead.

So new plan. From now on I am going to eat sensible amounts of fat with lots and lots of veg (YES I CAN EAT CARROTS AND SWEET POTATOES AGAIN!) A small amount of carb in the form of brown rice, sweet potato, jacket potato etc) and snack on fruit only. If I cant lose weight doing that then I never will.

If nothing else this diet has broken my addiction to bread, cakes, biscuits, chocolate etc. Im really happy for the people that low carbing has worked for but its not for me. I suppose what Im going to do is a bit more like slimming world on a red day (I cant do green days ive tried before it makes my ibs terrible.)

Cant weight for my snack later...grapes and apple here we come!!!

twinkle183 · 28/03/2010 09:58

em83 thanks for the email... am going to give that a try when dh has gone away although am not to great at not exercising but it says not to... we'll see! I'll let you know when I start it and do a weigh in before and after! There are a few foods on there that i am not liking the idea of consuming but I will just hold me nose!!!

Am starting my 30 day shred dvd as soon as I get it and I can't wait to see the inches come off if I am honest! I just feel like a slug at the moment.. no motivation to do anything!

Am also going to come off my depo injection while dh is away so hopefully that will help me shed the weight aswell! I have so many nice clothes from pre 3rd baby that I just can't get in to and its so frustrating...

But I guess this anger is just fuel to fire to do something about it!

em83 · 28/03/2010 16:47

twinkle183 i also have the diet which is a follow on diet to the diet i emailed you, its basically the same but with more choice, not sure if results will be the same as if you followed the 1st diet, but can email you so you can decide for yourself.....

woahthere its awful to here about your headaches, but what about slimmingworld??
come to think of it im sure it was you who said you wernt overly keen on slimming world, but it has all changed now and the food as you know is unlimited....

monkeyfacegrace · 28/03/2010 17:09

Ooooh Em83, could I pipe up and ask nicely for a copy of the diet that makes you lose a stone in 4 days . Could do with some of that!!
My email is becci_macpherson@hotmail dot co dot uk.
Thanks!! [excited emoticon]

HellBent · 28/03/2010 17:35

The golower success stories all still seem to be 12-14 stone after they finish, that would still make them overweight-obese depending on their height!

Can you exercise while on low carbs diets? I'm doing two boxercies classes a week and trying running once a week, then giving myself a treat for doing well which cancels the good stuff out! I heard that you don't have much energy, mum is a fitness instructor and never recommended it, she said "Atkins will make you lose weight but so will gastroentiritis! Neither are healthy for you" when it first came out so I have never tried it. also heard your breath smells of nail varnish and you get terribly constipated
