Hello I'm back

Up 0.5lb this week which is not bad considering I have done bugger all exercise as well as eating sandwiches and drinking wine on a school night.

Hope you guys have done better.

+1 here but not too unhappy as sore hip and shifts have meant no gym and eating at strange times - back on the fruit and yogurt this morning and a decent shop yesterday should help

luckoftheirish · 19/03/2010 11:40

+0.5 here but af has finally arrived hurrah!!! been to the gym and sweated my guts out on the stepper/treadmill so hopefully some wine here for me tonight ..

welcome back hots

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 19/03/2010 14:48

-2 here today, hurrah. That's -6 on the 11 week challenge total so far and a bit more as well since starting. Thank you all, am feeling better about myself, and some new clothes from M&S arrived by post a couple of weeks ago (still a bigger size than I was, but nice to feel good anyway) so I feel a bit smarter too. A bit of a way to go, but still feeling quite positive.

Now can anyone tell me how to get a 3 month old to nap ...

well done LWFH and quite frankly the best way to get a 3 month old to nap is curled up on your chest whilst you have a snooze and a cuddle with her too

fecking show off Sazz - didn't text me from the pool did you

friend cornered me about not being at gym and I had to tell her about the physio - am considering going in the morning anyway

am missing it though

no, the training pool is FULL of kids - will sort something out this week coming to replace the gym

GreenGardenia · 19/03/2010 22:43

I am not precisely sure what my minus is but on the 11 week thing I am now down 10.5 overall - target 11 so happy. Until next target, obv, which is the final 14

LOL at truly mobile texting

dizzy it's so frustrating

Good work all ye.

Gosh sorry about being useless on the maths front and thank you Sazz . Am thrilled with how much has gone these last few weeks, sadly was not in a very impressive starting point , however feel firmly on the road.

ALBS didja pray&weigh yet?

ataraxis · 20/03/2010 10:22

Ladies, I need some help please.

No decent gym around here so bought a cross trainer promising to use it at least 3 times a week for 20 mins. Reckon I have managed around once a week since I bought it (about a month ago). Am feeling terribly flabby and yuk.

I don't have a chance to get on here regularly enough to use your support properly, but I also need some external incentive as my internal motivation is clearly rubbish.

Aim: To be able to (not that I will) wear a bikini by August.

Current weight: No idea (somewhere around 10 1/2 stone - will check on Wii later)

Need: people to kick me from time to time (probably 3 times a week) to make sure I am doing it. Any volunteers?

dizzydixies · 20/03/2010 11:55

ataraxis - I hate my sodding cross trainer and all it does is get moved from shed to house to shed to house etc

do you find it easier to get out and about once the weather improves? my friend has lost a tonne of weight walking, without the kids so she can get up a decent pace

have you tried weighing yourself once a week at the same time, we normally do it on a Fri morning - not weighing ourselves in here has not done anything for DH and I any favours but at least we know where we are now

the food focus site is really good but was too high maintenance for me time wise, due to shifts etc - seems to have worked well for the others though

how about setting yourself smaller targets - e.g VG's challenge? (once again I am not a great example of this )

I joined Curves but am not sure if you have one near to you - it was a great incentive for me as it wasn't too intense/ there weren't loads of skinny addidas clad gym bunnies making me feel like a lardy, sweaty lump and it cost £29 per month so guilt was an incentive too

will go now and leave the advice to the experts who are actually managing to loose weight

luckoftheirish · 20/03/2010 13:06

welcome ataraxis.. i find that i fit my workout ie home bike when dd2 is napping.. of course should be doing other stuff but it is the only time of day i can fit it in and i loathe to do exercise at night...

when i started it i could only manage about 10km and now up to 25km.. takes time but worth it.. also log on here when i have done it as its motivation in itself to actually type.. i have exercised ..

on that merry note i have completed my 25.1km in a dreary 39 minutes as feeling completely shattered today and dd2 still shouting the odds upstairs so no nap for her today.. ho hum off to take them swimming and hopefully that will wear them out

ataraxis · 20/03/2010 13:33

Thanks guys

dizzy, cross trainer is my favourite piece of gym equipment, it's just that it's in a room with no TV/music. I have overcome this by on demand tv from laptop/iphone but it makes it not just 'go in, switch on, get started'

loti with 3, even if L is napping the other two are around and want to join in (or worse, WATCH )

There go those excuses again... I am just going to have to set a time on a regular basis and stick to it irrespective.

So... Here is my commitment for the next month:

Tuesdays and Fridays 6.15am for 20 mins
Plus one extra evening a week for 20 mins

On the food front I generally eat pretty healthily but two more commitments:

  1. I will take my own food to work (so saving money and making sure it's healthy)
  2. No crisps

Just weighed in at 10st 9lb on the Wii so that is my starting point.

I will weigh myself on a Friday morning and update on here then.

Tis now in writing and so has to be done

hotterpotter · 20/03/2010 21:53

Hello ataraxis

Unfortunately I am currently languishing at the bottom of the loser board with Dizzy and I do not have her excuse so don't necessarily pay any attention to me, but I know sazz will come back and say '20 mins no no no 30 mins please for an ExerSazz '

Well done ALBS - nearly a stone for you, impressive! - and welcome ataraxis, guaranteed success here, roll up, roll up for the guaranteed weight loss, trimming and toning.

Sadly I find I am up 2 today, wtf is going on there apart from 4 Jaffa Cakes (don't tell India) yesterday I do not know. Also zero water yesterday due to being in town on the move the whole day (dp rowing in race which we were watching) so fear of being trapped without a loo or with one and nowhere to dump the boys. Sigh, and continue sculling water today.

Ataraxis - the Potster speaketh the truth, verily, this thread herein and hereupon no exercise but exerSazz, thirty minutes a pop or you're back to square one. Four times per week or you are banished, or might get detention.

luckoftheirish · 21/03/2010 14:08

don't think 4 jaffa cakes can give up +2 up greeny ..

massive well done ALBS..

just logging as usual to say that i have biked my 25.1km in just under 39 minutes.. that under 38 mins must of been a myth ... feel ever so slightly addicted now as i have exersazz every day for the last three weeks .. something tells me i really need to get a life

GreenGardenia · 21/03/2010 16:19

LOL are you saying a. I'm lying or b. I am right to be confused?

Grrrreat that you're feeling the exercise addiction!

Ooo or c. my scales are dodgy
