Here's the new thread

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/03/2010 08:03

You are good Blondes!!! I would have bought him one,but not resisted myself I am so weak willed !!!!

Advice time ladies. It's DH's birthday today and we are going for a curry tonight. What do you think the best thing to have is? Chicken Saag Aloo or Chicken Tandoori? Boiled rice obv. No Naan [sulk emoticon] do any of you have cal.counting books???

Hope you al have a good (and cake free) day

bebejones · 17/03/2010 08:39

Blondes - You are a better woman than me, no way I would have gone and got one for DH!

Jodie - I would have thought the Saag Aloo was better, checked foodfocus & saag aloo comes out lower but that's supermarket versions!

Piste - The ginger biscuits come in packs inside the big box, 5 per pack. I usually have a couple & put the box back in the kitchen so I can't be tempted just to keep munching!

GettinTrimmer · 17/03/2010 09:42

Blondes Your restraint is impressive! I would have joined him as well with fish & chips. Hope he appreciates you've gone beyond the call of wifely duty, that was saintly.

Piste not if I keep snaffling left over chocolate from the cheesecake . I find digestives filling, but bebe's ginger ones sound yummy for those emergency munchy cravings.

Jodie As bebe says, foodfocus gives us supermarket versions, but I think myself the saag aloo would be cooked in more butter/ghee, whereas the chicken tandoori is marinated in yogurty stuff so would be lower. Blondes will probably know the ww points, very roughly I think 1 point is 70 calories, but maybe not that simple as it goes on sat fat as well.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2010 10:14

think he did appreicate it

needs must, i want to shift a lb as sts last week

regards to curry, i would go for the spinch/veggie one, its normally prepeared fresh so ask for less oil etc and enjoy

bebejones · 17/03/2010 11:26

Trimmer - I hadn't thought about butter maybe tandoori would be better, I was just thinking the saag aloo would be less creamy. Doubt there is much in it tbh. Hope you enjoy whichever one you decide Jodie

Feeling really low today, just one thing after another here! The choc fudge cake is calling me!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2010 11:44

on ww chicken sag is 17p and tandori is 12

as not in sauce, so better option for you

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/03/2010 12:18

Thanks ladies I've just googled it(don't know why I didn't do that before ) Saag Aloo is 500 cal and Tandoori is 300cal, rice is about 300 cal per 250 grams. So Tandoori and rice it is then, plus a glass of vino (220 calper 275 ml glass) thats 800 cal for dinner, wow it soon adds up doesn't it!!!!!

I am doing a big clean now, so thats some calories used to make way!!!!

GettinTrimmer · 17/03/2010 12:43

I've just been eating lunch with dd (she's off sick) and the chair collapsed under me!

Cheap rubbish from Argos, used to be dh's from his batchelor days, he would have bought the table and chairs in 1990ish.

Quite funny really, I've almost lost a stone so would take umbridge if it was anything to do with me and not the crap furniture

Jodie Enjoy dinner! 800 calories for a meal out is pretty good.

bebe I will get some of those biscuits, I am a coffee addict and have just bought some cafetiere coffee from Sainsburys, not too naughty to have a couple with a cuppa. Sorry you are feeling low today, hope you get some time to yourself later

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2010 13:10

BEBE sorry you are feeling low - if you were near me, you could come and have a cuddle with my 10.5 stone woofa - pushing him off you 10 000 times a day must burn calories

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2010 14:49

11 wow thats late knackereing for you

are they worried at school about anything or just playing you up?

be firm, consistant etc

my dc 7 goes up to bed 7ish, teeth, story and in bed 7.15 and asleep 7.30 - as are the baby and 4yr

thank god, im pp at work till sunday as mb has taken db away for his birthday and i need my sleep

GettinTrimmer · 17/03/2010 15:17

He's been like this for a while now Blondes.

No tv/distractions in his room, bedtime routine, he goes up later than 7, started taking him up for bath, story, cuddle at 8.30pm, he just lies there are can't go to sleep.

He has some rainforest music in his room but makes no difference, last night he woke me up (I was asleep early) at 10.50pm crying, upset at the moment about Pokemon card swaps. Probably did completely the wrong thing last night got into bed with him till he dropped off, this was more like 11.20pm.

Always something he is sensitive about, gets upset and worries. Dd fine, goes off no problem.

Thanks so much blondes, I posted on parenting about this and got no replies.

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 17/03/2010 16:05

Sorry about going off topic everyone. Blondes, I'll post on sleep and see what happens, just helped to write it out tbh!

OP posts:
bebejones · 17/03/2010 16:48

Trimmer - hope you get some good advice, I have nothing to offewr I'm afraid!

PBM - Happy St Patricks day!

Jodie - I completely forgot about the tandoori being drier thing I was confusing it with a Tikka Masala. Have a nice meal anyways!

Just been having bad time financially & things had been improving & then last night our tennents in our flat have given their notice! Just the worst timing ever. Poor DH is so stressed about money & things are really tight. That'll teach us to think things were on the up, especially since his business is picking up again!

Oh & my friend is pregnant & moving away (not far though) and I'm just feeling all & about it as it was a shock. I'm sure I will feel better about it soon! Had a raspberry & white choc muffin & now feel incredibly guilty about it. So didn't cheer me up at all!

bebejones · 17/03/2010 18:13

Just had a sudden realisation, I have lost more than my DD's total body weight! That puts things in perspective a bit, especially when I pick her up, that's a lot of weight to have been carrying around!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2010 18:22

BEBE well done!! Thats a great way of looking at it [s,ile]

TRIMMER anytime, but yes def the worst thing you could do is to get into bed with him as he may expect/want that every nighto

the fact it still took 30mins for him to drop off does mean there is something worrying him, maybe fallen out with friend/worried about spellings etc

if he wakes, go in, see what the problem is, re assure him and walk out

try a nightlight

mrswill · 17/03/2010 19:30

Morning am still eatin bfast as we r lazy... Trimmer my lil sis was bullied at sch & was/is such a worrier she HAD to hav some1 lye n wit her so she cud sleep till she was bout 8 or 9 at least im sure it was a lot out of habbit but as she was da youngest it wasnt too bad as either my mum or me (im 8years older) wud lye n with her, prob really comfort him but its hard on u as ur dd might feel jealous then poor lil man he must b wrecked, hope it gets better for ye soon Bebe its great business is picking up hopefully ye will let yer flat soon at ur muffin, altho these yummies taste lovely they really never help us feel better do they, tis da guilt dat ruins it well done mrswill on ur lb gosh i wonder what our combined weight loss is now?

bebejones · 18/03/2010 10:35

I work out the total weight loss on the list as 19stone 11.7lbs

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong!!

Had a boiled egg for breakfast after DD had finished dipping her toast in it, didn't realise it was 100+ calories! Also just shared a 'light choices' Hot X bun with DD, I say share, I think I got about 2 bites!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2010 10:42

i beleive you bebe, cant be arsed to work it out

breakie cheerios and skim

not sure about lunch yet, my family have gone away so i am PP till sunday afternoon - 3 kids and woofa

i did make a yummy tea last night - was going to have pasta but dh decided to order takeaway pizza, asking if i want one, i reply no as cant eat pizza as soooooooooooooooooo bad on ww - he said are you sure, i reply yes

but i smelt his pizza

but i was VER RESTRAINED and didnt have any but made my own

2 pittas 5p spread with tom puree and then scattered 2 slices of chopped ham 1p and 30g lf cheese 2.5p and popped under the grill - so tea was 8.5p

and was bloody yummy

might make for a treat on saturday night as takeaways wont deliver to where i work as too rural

have a good day all

GettinTrimmer · 18/03/2010 13:34

mrswill well done on your 1lb.

PBM thanks, ds was asleep at 10.40 last night, woke up himself at 7.40, I am wondering if in some cases 7 year olds only need 9 hours sleep! can't see a Health Visitor anymore because of cuts, but feel I need to speak to someone so will make an appt with the doctor.

How are you??

bebe Hope you get more tenants soon, these things are a pain. Take care.

Amazing how much weight we've lost between us!

People I've not seen for a while are noticing - my sister hadn't seen me since christmas and noticed, but I don't think it really shows on me in a big way until I am below 11 and a 1/2 stone

Blondes Good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow. The place where you're working sounds lovely and peaceful. How old are the children?
