Here's the new thread

JODIEwantsanewname · 26/03/2010 16:39

Hi all, Well done blondes

bebe if your DH is that fussy then SW isn't going to work, you don't get many 'syns' per day as they want you to fill up on syn free food, which is mainly fruit and veg. Maybe WW will be better? I hope DD feels better soon x

I don't think I am going to lose this week, I;m due on my AF and I am soooo bloated I feel so pre menapausal it's un true, I just wish it would happen, I get a bad one like this every so often and it's rubbish It's like having all the signs of pregnancy without being pregnant. All I want to eat is a Creme Egg!!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/03/2010 18:52

thanks all - yes our list has def got shorter

BEBE sorry to hear dd still not well - not suprised dh caved in - so hard just doing hakes etc - have you tried boiling kettle/steaming at night or a dehumidfyer (sp) for dd?

LAUGHTALOT im def going for summer - hoping to be in my trousers then

TRIMMER stir fry sounds good or how about my fav roasted veg?

JODIE i have AF this week and still lost, so you may as well

bebejones · 26/03/2010 19:18

Trimmer - Stir fry sounds like a good idea. Or some veggie soup? A weight maintaing thread is a great idea...once we all reach our targets

Jodie - He lost 4 stone on SW a few years back (put it on again since) but actually did really well on it. Although he mostly had green plan which seems odd coz he's not a veg man!!! Biggest prob he was having on Cambridge was he had a constant head ache and blurred vision & couldn't concentrate on work so kept making mistakes! Not good!

Laughalot - I'm on for summer too. Want to lose another 2 stone by August (DD's birthday)

Blondes - DD has been a PITA again this evening so I'm that means she is starting to feel a bit better!

AF due here too so I'm craving sugar & carbs, had a muffin (well half) and feel slightly less desperate for sugar now!

Poohbearsmom · 27/03/2010 00:35

O guys iv bn so bad today will most certainly be gain wk for me id say...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/03/2010 08:52

Blimey.

One of DDs mates has formally been diagnosed with anorexia. They are only 12, but it is a funny old age. I haven't talked to DD about me losing weight and I am so glad. It is difficult when we have family meals but I've sort of glossed over what I'm having. I shall have to be very careful indeed, I'm not saying for one minute that DD will develop anorexia but I don't want her thinking dieting for her is a good thing. Fortunaty with her swimming training (6.45-8 already this morning groan) she has to keep healthy. It's a worry though, especially for her mate.

Poohbearsmom · 27/03/2010 09:25

My goodness piste what a shock! Da poor lil girl and her family

GettinTrimmer · 27/03/2010 10:10

So sorry to hear that Piste, what a dreadful worry.

I've not told 5 yo dd I am trying to lose weight but she has picked it up, agree with you we don't want them to develop the idea dieting is a good thing.

PBM I edited the list last time, after Monday we could see who weighs in? I think there's about 15 of us left.

I have just been running, 35 minutes without stopping. First time I've been in a while, the exercise DVD's have definitely helped with the fitness!

OP posts:
bebejones · 27/03/2010 10:52

Morning all!

Piste - that poor girl & her family, how awful

Thankfully DD is too little to realise I am dieting. Don't know how I would explain it if she was older.

PBM - sure one day wont hurt, I've been very naughty lately picking at things constantly & I have still lost! Fingers crossed for Monday that it wont have made any dfference. I have been feeling like I have been crap lately but then you guys all give me a virtual slap & I snap out of it!

Shopping trip for trousers postponed as DH has gone with his dad to show new tennant the flat. We didn't know how DD would be. Turns out she is loads better & being very naughty & toddlery! One downside is I have to put up with my MIL coming over 2moro as we were going to pop in and see her today.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/03/2010 14:30

I think when they are older it is harder - told DH from the start not to mention my dieting. For us on this thread, dieting has and will continue to be a good thing, but not for a 12 year old.

DD knows Her friends condition is making her miserable and just feels for her. Now they are seeking help and her close friends know it is a good thing, but it will always be part of her life which is sad.

I have a good friend who has suffered with anorexia all her life but has managed to keep healthy for her childrens sake. In fact she was healthiest when she was pregnant because she forced herself to eat resonably.

What a worry and v sad

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/03/2010 14:34

BEBE glad dd seems to be better and i think your dh shouldnt do cambridge,it can be healthy to limit your body to 600/800 cals you have done so wel ( over 2stone since jan) l so cant he do the same diet as you

PBM blonde removes her off the fat naughty step

PISTE at dd friend and so young - hope she gets better

TRIMMER well done on the running

finished nights and went to thegym for the first time in over 2 weeks

it killed me

amazing how quickly the body starts to get unfit again

Poohbearsmom · 27/03/2010 17:03

Thanks Blondes am sipping a lovely milky coffee at da mo back n da hosp for review as public health nurse wasnt happy wit me backside when she came to the house spoke wit surgeon s.h.o a&e nurse rang him...(he's a dumbass] said "o no worries come to the clinic on wed we'l hav a look"but the a&e nurse was 'NOT HAPPY' with that so called an a&e doc to give out to da surgeon who then decided to do my "surgery" today after all... i do understand due to budget cuts etc da place virtually shuts down on da wkend & runs on a skeleton staff but thats no excuse to give me shoddy care... thank god for nurses

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/03/2010 17:07

meant cambridge is unhealthy

poor you PBM

GettinTrimmer · 27/03/2010 20:18

PBM Those nurses are on the ball, glad they were looking out for you. Take care, let us know how you are.

I'm not going on the naughty step today, had 1800 cals but after running walked to Sainsburys and back (3 miles!).

piste good that dd's friend will receive the care she needs now - your dd is doing well with her swimming, she sounds dedicated.

blondes you'll get back into exercising quickly, hoping mine today has dealt with too many calories!

OP posts:
JODIEwantsanewname · 28/03/2010 09:01

Hello all, as expected I SS this week. Hopefully it will give me the kick start I need for next week. Might try doing the couch to 5k again.

PBM Glad you are getting sorted, hope you start to feel better soon

Piste Poor DD and DD's friend.Must be a very confusing time. It's hard isn't it, that line between teaching them about eating healthy and having good self esteem, but not putting 'body-image' in the mix too. 12 is such a young age.

Trimmer My AF's don't normally bother me too much (apart from the odd chocolate craving) just this one felt like my stomach was a big balloon that needed popping, I honestly felt aout 7 months pregnant! I didn't succumb to a Creme Egg though

I am however going to MIL for sunday lunch today, so I dread to think how many calories are in that. She's a really old fashioned cook, butter in all the veg, Roast potates dripping in oil etc. It's so delicious and it would be rude not to eat anything!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/03/2010 19:42

Good luck all for tomorrow!

I was mega despondent during this week with the dieting lark, but then I realised I am two jeans sizes smaller than when we started in January, so there is a renewed spring in my step!

I actually took back my M&S linen-y trousers because they were a bit too long, and I bought two pairs of their £12 jeans which are brilliant especially in this transition phase. I haven't been a size 14 for yonks and yonks.

DH has gone on a business trip to the States from Saturday to Friday which makes it rather easier for me on the catering front. In the old days we used to eat when he got home and that could easily be 10pm which is too late by anyone's standards, plus my problem was that I had already grazed while the DC had their supper and grazed all evening! I know that needs to change..

Again I say good luck all!

TubbyDuffs · 29/03/2010 03:54

1.5lb off this week. Off for a couple of weeks, as on holiday, so won't be reporting (don't delete me please).

Good luck everyone.

bebejones · 29/03/2010 07:52

Blondes - Hope things get better soon!

PBM well done resisting ice cream, I think I would have caved!

Trimmer & Tubby - well done on loss & sts!

I have another cold, not sure where it's come from, only left the house once all last week as DD was ill! How is that fair?!?!

BUT on a truly truly amazing note (probably down to stress) I have lost..............................6lbs I always seem to have a biggish loss just before AF then settle back down again! Have done a fair amount of exercise this past week though! Best of all, on a BMI front I am now no longer obese, just overweight! I realise this is still not good, but prefer overweight to obese!! Oh and also for the first time in I can't remember how long my weight starts with a 12!
