Mad as a March hare or dozy like a dormouse?!

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/02/2010 12:28

So the challenge continues.

March has 4.5 weeks. You can aim for 2lbs a week, or the more dozy 1lb a week - either way, that's a good loss for the month.

Any plan/diet is welcome - just sign up here for the solidarity/support/encouragement/kick up the backside (delete as appropriate).

We don't use actual weight (unless you want to), but a points system. If you're joining us/starting from tomorrow, you start on 100 points. Every pound you lose is one point gone.

You can weigh in as often as you like, but just remember to update the list!

Here's the list from February - please add your name and c+p it into the next thread:

Well done AW .

I am predicting I will have lost something this week, but prob not 2lb as hoped . Will weigh in tomorrow.

mummymels · 05/03/2010 17:57

HinnyPet ? Great news that your jeans are so loose now but shame you haven?t lost the weight where you wanted to. It just means you?ll have to go shopping to get some more and that can?t be a bad thing!

Motherofluvlies ? Sounds like a lovely night out at the theatre. I think that one little cheat though won?t do you too much harm.

Ninjacat ? Yummy, curry. I?m sure you?ll be back on track now though.

Amazonianwoman - Great loss. Wow if you can lose 2lbs after eating all that lot that is brilliant!

Brollyflower ? Good luck for weigh in tomorrow.

HinnyPet · 05/03/2010 19:21

I'm on 76 now, good stuff. Jeans still tight round waist though I will try on old (pre baby ones) trousers tomorrow, fingers crossed

mummymels · 05/03/2010 21:38

That's brilliant HinnyPet. Good luck with the jean trying on tomorrow. I have a load of clothes in the loft that I hoped I would fit in again one day and I keep meaning to see what is up there but not got around to it yet.

theQuibbler · 06/03/2010 08:16

Can being premenstrual make the scales stick?
All other things being equal?(ie I haven't been cheating at all or eating more than usual.

I seem to have lost one measly pound over the course of the week and got on the scales today and NOW it is the same as last week

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 06/03/2010 08:26

Just a mere, piffling 1lb off this week. Pshaw. ut I haven't really got into the swing of it if I am honest. Hoping to do better next week.

Brollyflower · 06/03/2010 08:39

Oh Quibbler, I hope so. I had as good a week as any other food and exercise wise, but my weight is static this week too . V disheartening. They do say fluctuations are normal, but so far I've managed to go down even after disasterous weeks, so this is a really miserable end to a crappy week.

I am wearing size 12 jeans though, although I think Sainsburys sizes are v generous.

theQuibbler · 06/03/2010 09:04

Oh dear! You too? Well, here's to a better week next week. And good job on the jeans.

My official weigh in day is Tuesday, maybe I'll be surprised . I need to keep off the scales - it's not a good habit.

Brollyflower · 06/03/2010 10:25

I actually weigh every day, but only record on Saturdays. Only three times in 9 weeks has my weight gone up from one day to the next, though it's often static, and one of those rises was today -yesterday I was 1lb down. Good luck for tues .

FrazzledBlob · 06/03/2010 10:41

Quibbler & Brolly - my weight has not shifted this week either

I am stuck at the same weight I always get stuck at. I have known it take months to shift these couple of pounds to get into the next stone on SW and I am so it is happening on the LC plan to.

I am weighing daily at the moment as I am using the wii fit daily. I have gone from couch slob to using it daily for 1/2hr to 1hr with the vibro plate and gym ball. I am holding onto this lack of weight loss being some muscles coming out of hibernation.

I am trying to look on the bright side as I feel fantastic in myself and I am not pigging out due to how i am feeling.

I am off on a Noodle hunt today and will make a LC cake later to cheer me up

Brollyflower · 06/03/2010 16:52

Oh help! I have had to do baking today for a sle and I guess I've had what you might call a blow out day . I have totally lost motivation and after feeling rubbish all week because the kids have been so tough, today I have just lost the plot. Need to give myself a shake before I just throw in the towel. And I've been doing so well up to now too .

WilfSell · 06/03/2010 20:48

Oh stick with it! Premenstrual stuff can stall you and indeed put weight on (water retention, cravings etc). And in any case it is normal on this way of eating to have periods where you seem to lose nothing or even gain and then whoosh down again. I just didn't believe it until it happened to me! 2 weeks of hovering just above previous weight, then I lost 3 or 4 lbs, followed by a consistent lb a week after that.

I'm on week 8 I think (or maybe 8 on Monday) and I've lost weird amounts at different times.

And anyway, you need to try Uses for Celeriac No. 157:

Aloo Saag. Instead of potato. Loads of spinach. Delicious. Made by my DH though (curry is not my specialism). With tandoori chicken, sour cream and one large spoonful of mango chutney (I know, but this was my saturday night treat!)

theQuibbler · 07/03/2010 08:59

Hope you're feel better today Brollyflower - back on that wagon, lady!

FrazzledBlob - that's a really good positive attitude; I'm going to follow it. Did you manage to find any noodles?

thanks for that chicken sag recipe idea, WilfSell, I'm going to have that for my dinner tonight, I think as I love spinach.

I need to remember that "weight loss is not linear" - see what happens tomorrow/tues.

WilfSell · 07/03/2010 09:06

Just to be clear though - that tandoori chicken were done separately and cream/chutney on the side: he doesn't chuck it all in together! i've no idea how he makes the aloo saag - will ask him...

Stick with it everyone (she says with piece of 70% green & blacks in mouth ) - even one pound a week is good - that's a couple of blocks of butter isn't it?

amazonianwoman · 07/03/2010 13:49

Frazzledblob - do you have a recipe for LC cake? Please!

WilfSell · 07/03/2010 13:54

someone used an older version of the list! i was definitely 82 at the last weigh in...

Argh. Now we're going to need to update everyone.

FrazzledBlob · 07/03/2010 14:26

Have'nt found the noodles yet as came down with bad tummy ache yesterday, so bad i could'nt shop or make cake Have sent DH on a mission for them today.

Today I feel great. Have been doing lots of baking.

Amazonianwoman I made some blueberry muffins today that were lovely recipe here you might have to sign up to view it

I didnt have enough flax seed and only had plain whey protein but they were lovely. They sank a bit when out the oven and were not a true muffin texture but a couple of those warm topped with some cream cheese and a creamy coffee was fantastic

theQuibbler if you love spinach have you tried spinach bread? I don't like it cold but stick it under the grill for cheese on toast

Brollyflower · 07/03/2010 20:38

Thanks for the stern look Quibbler. I rounded off yesterday with takeaway Thai . However, today has been far better so I'm hopeful I will get right back on track properly.

I am not low carbing, btw and not premenstrual either, so no idea about my weigh in still.

Brollyflower · 07/03/2010 20:53

Have just done my calories for today and yesterday and estimate I am 700 calories over what I need to maintain weight, so that's not as bad as I feared . After a run later this evening and a normal day tomorrow I should have more than cancelled that out and be heading downwards again. Phew!

WilfSell · 08/03/2010 09:31

Right, everyone's going to have to check their own entries as someone posted an older version of the list. I've changed mine (another lb down from 82, so 81)

I'm not checking my weight!

I have been all over the shop recently. Having got over my d&v occurrence, I have had the most horrendous cold since last week, and have been feeling very sorry for myself, so all kinds of carby stuff has passed my lips.

Back on track today and feeling a bit better, so will delay weighing until next Monday.

(Feeling very guilty about this as the originator of these challenges! How embarrassing that I still haven't got below 90 )

theQuibbler ? Yes being premenstrual can make a difference. You may find next week that you make up for it.

Brollyflower ? Being in size 12 jeans is brilliant. Maybe having one bad day has got it out your system and hopefully you will feel more focused again. You sounded back on track yesterday.

FrazzledBob ? You sound as if you are doing great on the exercise front. Shame though that you are staying the same but maybe that is the weight you are meant to b. As you say though it could be from all the exercise that you are just toning up now rather than losing weight which can?t be a bad thing. Hope your tummy is better now.

WillSell ? Yum on the Aloo Saag. Well spotted re the list, mine is a lb out too.

BecauseImWorthIt ? I hope you are on the mend now. Don?t be embarrassed. You have still lost nearly a stone.

supersalstrawberry ? Good luck with your mini aim for the 20th.
