Having cranked (literally) out 2 DC in 18 months, youngest nearly 2, I feel its about time get my "I'm a lady" head back on and finally stop avoiding reflective surfaces... I'm 5ft 1" and 8st 11lb and would like to be 8st 2lb which is easier said than done.. major driver is a big big big job interview in three months - somehow I feel that if I'm back at my pre-kid weight I will be back at my pre-kid brain-power (phnarrghaha etc)so ..hhhm - where to start? not really done diets before but need something structured to stick to.. Thinking of the special K plan with added salad?! Ideally I want a nutrionist MNer to post me up some strict instructions - but in the absence of that am going to go Special K + fruit, Special K +veg , decent healthy meal, cut boooze and treats and see how we go.. anyone on for it?!

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

Just weighed myself and I'm back up to 9st 1lb. That's an increase of 1 1/4 lbs in the last week.

FFS.

My only consolation is AF started this morning.

Well done to Prinnie and EVye tho.

thatsnotmymonster · 27/02/2010 10:28

Snap Claudia!! So frustrating isn't it- let's hope it's just the AF that's doing it and will be back down next week!

EVye · 27/02/2010 10:31

If it makes you feel better I weighed myself this morning and am back up to 71.5kg A whole 2lb heavier than yesterday. I did have a chinese last night though

Back on to now treats and small portions and we'll see what this week brings.

Prinnie · 28/02/2010 11:48

Hi everyone! Just got back from an amazing gym workout - feel very exercised now. I'm sure that many of these small gains will be AF related - I always retain 1-2lbs of water over my period - it's crappy, but also a boost once it's gone!

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday, small breakfast but then pizza express for lunch (alhtough had the new pizza with hole in the middle for salad so not too bad) but then a friend came over to watch a film and brought a massive bad of revels with him and DH had giant buttons so indulged on those.. THEN DH suggested getting curry so I had an indian as well although I do have a new diet tip here. I ordered a mild sagwala, and the sauce was so thick that actually I didn't need any rice or naan because it was mild and filling on its own. So hopefully that will have limited the damage.

Determined to be a beacon of virtue today

Lets keep going guys!

thatsnotmymonster · 01/03/2010 10:33

EVye that 2lbs should soon come off- it's probably just your meal from last night sitting in your tummy!

Prinnie- well done for the gym workout at least that will help balance out some of the curry etc. Everyone has days like that!

I am very happy today (it's my birthday) as I got on the scales and was 12st 12.5lbs- yay! No AF either.

So that's a loss of 3lbs since last Monday and a total of 7.5lbs

I was hoping to be 12st 10 for next Sat (my mum's 60th) and it's looking achievable if I am very good this week. So I need to lose 2.5lbs this week and then I will be setting a new mini goal. I was 12st 8lbs when got pregnant with dc1 so getting back to that will ba amazing!

Hope everyone else has a good day today.

Prinnie · 01/03/2010 21:15

OMG! That's brilliant TNMM! Happy Birthday Yeah I would have definitely thought you can give your 12 stone 10 goal for Saturday a good go!

I was 8st 7.5 again this morning but I know I haven't gained weight as I haven't eaten enough so I will not let myself get disheartened. I've been to the gym and again not eaten too much (although a couple of things have sneaked in that I'm now regretting) but tomorrow's another day and I definitely won't have gained weight.

Onwards and upwards (or should it be downwards?) I have to keep focussed - I talked myself out of a piece of cake and giant buttons today by thinking... must post a loss this week on our special thread so thank you so much everyone

ClaudiaSchiffer · 01/03/2010 22:13

Well done TNMY, and Happy Birthday.

Yesterday I had a terrible day. Felt really fed up about this whole weight loss malarky, and wanted to eat my bodyweight in Chocolate. I did manage to resist however and today I do feel better but think I need to follow an actual diet as doing it myself seems to be producing NO results at all. (well 4.5lbs lost in about 8 weeks - so not great).

Does anyone follow a diet? If so do you have any recommendations? I have a copy of India Knights book and that hypnotist chap and probably some others lurking away on the shelves.

On the positive side, I did a run this morning so actually feel much better about myself and more back-on-track.

EVye · 02/03/2010 08:18

Well done Monster!

Prinnie - well done for avoiding cake

Claudia - I am not following a diet but I am avoiding cake, chocolate, biscuits (alowed the occasional one) and I'm eating my dinner off side plates as portion sizes is my problem.

I weighed myself this morning. I know I shouldnt have but.....

I was 70.2 kg OR 11 st and 0.76 lb!!!!!!!

I am so close to my target.

thatsnotmymonster · 04/03/2010 14:16

Weigh in day tomorrow ladies!! How we all doing?

Have had an ok week but not done much walking due to the snow refusing to go and went out last night and had 4 cocktails (not creamy ones though)

Apart from that I've been pretty good! So still hoping for a decent result!

EVye · 04/03/2010 16:44

hi monster,

I was 70.2 again this morning so no movement but i did have an eclair yesterday

Havent eaten much today, scrambled egg on toast for lunch and no snacks, so we'll see what tomorrow brings.

thatsnotmymonster · 05/03/2010 09:25

mmmm well 12st 11.5 this morning so 1lb loss since Monday. If I can lose another 1lb by tomorrow I will only be .5lb away from my target- is that possible do you think?

8.5lb loss so far.

Off to have a slimshhake

ClaudiaSchiffer · 05/03/2010 22:13

Just weighed myself, am 9.0 exactly.

Lost 1 lb !!! Yay.

Well done everyone.

Only another 7lbs to go for me, at this rate I should be at my target weight by 2012. .

thatsnotmymonster · 05/03/2010 23:00

Claudia- well done!! I'm sure it will come off quicker than that It is much harder to lose weight when you don't have as much too lose though- unlike me who has masses to lose so it is easier just now!!!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 06/03/2010 07:32

Cheers tnmm. We've had friends for lunch and I tried to resist the crisps/dips/ice-cream and sort of managed it but not totally.

Also, I am in my "thin" jeans, and, lordy, I'm bulging out of them - so probably not very flattering but I don't have a full length mirror so who cares

thatsnotmymonster · 07/03/2010 13:12

Well it was my mum's surprise 60th yesterday and despite a day of indulging I think I did ok! Shared a muffin and had a cappuccino with my sister whilst doing Debenhams personal shopper with my mum, lunch at valvona and crolla's and had rice balls stuffed with mozzarella and a salad, water to drink, then a yummy chocolate brownie dessert later at Harvey Nicks but I could only eat half of mine so I was actually quite chuffed!! Didn't over indulge on party food later either though did have a few glasses of wine.

Got on scales this morning and was 12.11 so that's ok considering!

Lots of people commenting on me looking thinner too which is good but feels odd considering I still have almost 2 stone to lose

ClaudiaSchiffer · 07/03/2010 21:27

12.11 is great tnmm, that's 0.5 loss since Friday. Blimey.

Congrats on your mums 60th, it sounds like you had a fab day.

Today I have squeeeeeeeeeezed into an old size 10 mini skirt. I am 41, I think i last wore this when I was about 31 . Anyway it's wayy tight but sort of fits so I'm going for it

thatsnotmymonster · 07/03/2010 22:10

Hey- that's fab, Claudia!!! Bet it looks great- everyone's wearing miniskirts/shorts and tights etc now anyway. Size 10 is amazing! I have just turned 32 and have never been a size 10! Not sure I ever will be - will see what size I am when I'm down to 11 stone but I think it will be a 12 though that would still be skinny for me cos I have big hips.

How many pounds are you meant to lose before you go down a size?

Prinnie · 07/03/2010 22:25

Hi everyone, well done Claudia and Monster, well done on your losses and happy birthday to your Mum!

I've been very quiet as I'm a bit dissolusioned with the whole process as I've not made any progress despite being really good (and even less now seeing as I had 2 massive portions of pudding with my scrumptious Sunday lunch!) I'm going to have a ponder for a couple of days about whether I can stop being stupid and just take all 8st 7lb of me on holiday without feeling miserable. I know it must sound like I'm being stupid but I do have a very big bum (size 10-12) compared to my top (6-8) so that makes me look much bigger than I am, especially as I'm not toned at all so am carrying a lot of body fat on a very small frame. Vain, vain, vain!

Hoping to come back tomorrow in a much better mood - keep going girls! xx

ClaudiaSchiffer · 07/03/2010 22:43

Oh Prinnie, don't get disheartened. As thatsnotmymonster says, it is harder to shift the weight if you haven't got much to lose. Also 8st 7lb is teeny weeny even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment.

Now your big bum . . . - are you exercising? Can you concentrate on doing some running 3 x a week? It will lift your mood and tone you up a bit? I'm an a nice 0 - 5K thread elsewhere on here which is very supportive to us shit runners.

Also you can dress to disguise a curvy bum - anyway curvyness is excellent, think of j-lo!

EVye · 08/03/2010 09:59

Well done Claudia and TNMM.

Prinnie dont get disheartened. I would suggest situps and one of those twisty spinny disc things. You can do them at home and increase the number each week.

I weighed myself this morning and I was 70.3 but I have just started my period and I have had 2 takeaways in the last few days and a big sunday lunch yesterday

Now I've seen how the weight creeps back on if I dont stick to my rules I am going to try and start again.

thatsnotmymonster · 08/03/2010 14:18

well I weighed myself this morning and was back to 13stone!!! So it happens to all of us.

I think it is very difficult, but hopefully worth it in the end. Anyway they say slow to come off, slow to go back on or something like that so better than just losing it all very quickly and then putting it all back on again.

EVye- can't think of any amazing suggestions for your bum!!!! It does sound as though you don't really have any weight to lose as such but do need to tone up and get fit which will shrink your hips, waist, bottom and thighs. I suspect if you took too much weight off it would just make your top half disappear altogether. You will lose weight by toning up but maybe not more than a few pounds. If you tone up your arms/chest etc too then you will look more balanced as well!

EVye · 08/03/2010 14:23

ahem. My bottom's actually quite nice thanks. ;)

Prinnie · 08/03/2010 18:22

Hehe, it's ME with the massive bum! Thanks for the advice everyone Longer post later

thatsnotmymonster · 09/03/2010 10:22

Oh no so sorry!!!

Today is not going to be easy- already eaten too much over the weekend and now we are going out for lunch cos it's my mum's actual birthday today! LOTS of walking is needed!!

EVye · 11/03/2010 08:04

Oooh ooh. I weighed myself this morning.

69.9 kg = 11.0073 st
OR 11 st and 0.10 lb

So, I am under 70kg which I wanted. I really wanted to be under 11st by Mothers Day. Wonder if I can do it
