Having cranked (literally) out 2 DC in 18 months, youngest nearly 2, I feel its about time get my "I'm a lady" head back on and finally stop avoiding reflective surfaces... I'm 5ft 1" and 8st 11lb and would like to be 8st 2lb which is easier said than done.. major driver is a big big big job interview in three months - somehow I feel that if I'm back at my pre-kid weight I will be back at my pre-kid brain-power (phnarrghaha etc)so ..hhhm - where to start? not really done diets before but need something structured to stick to.. Thinking of the special K plan with added salad?! Ideally I want a nutrionist MNer to post me up some strict instructions - but in the absence of that am going to go Special K + fruit, Special K +veg , decent healthy meal, cut boooze and treats and see how we go.. anyone on for it?!

Ok, so you will see from the hour that its all gone a bit wrong. Various minor disasters meant not home til late and DCs not in bed til after 8pm. Scoffed emergency Thai food at 9pm (quite good - stir fry chicken, left most of the sauce, fragrant rice; quite bad - two small glasses vino). Now wide awake burping fragrant burps feeling chubby and slightly "diet dirty".How many calories has Pepto bismol?!
On the up side not yet eaten anything today! On line shopping arrived with plenty of healthy options, so planning a really good day!

Right, managed to get through yesterdays double dining out without feeling too bad - although it definitely wasn't a diet day!

I'm too full from last night for breakfast so will just hae fruit this morning. Eating out AGAIN tonight (my weeks are not normally like this!) but have looked at the menu online to plan ahead and as we are just meeting friends to catch up I've decided I'll have the soup and bread as a main course, as that's what I'd have if I was at home. Weigh in Monday and Friday sounds good to me. What we could do with is a list of everyone taking part - I'll try and put one together

Have a good day everyone

thatsnotmymonster · 09/02/2010 16:32

Slimshake for brekkie, then walked to nursery and back.
Had cheese and ham sandwich and a hot cross bun for lunch.

Will be having steak for tea, not sure what we can have with it though!!

Crumplet · 09/02/2010 20:56

OK ladies - are we all crashing at the first hurdle?! Seems to be a bit of a petering out of enthusiasm...!
Today 40g porridge, chicken curry and rice (oops, quite a small portion though, from one of those work buffet things), veg soup, apple, banana. Feeling like a heifer.

I'm 5' 4" and weigh 9st 8lb. Pre-baby weight was just under 9. Think I might join you even tho have recently started new contraceptive pill which makes me eat like a horse. Just going to dig into my last supper - mint aero.

Prinnie · 09/02/2010 21:54

Hi everyone, again not the best of days but have just got back from dinner at a restaurant where everything was greasy

Fully back on the wagon tomorrow - this is sad but I actually can't wait!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 10/02/2010 00:21

CDMforever you mint aero last supper made me laff

Well, just to perk things up a bit I am feeling very virtous . Today I've been for a 5K run/walk and so far just had museli and a plum, but then it is only 11am here.

I am still off the alcohol and honestly I think that makes a real difference. I don't really crave it and I am eating less and feeling heaps healthier and have more energy. I've given it up for Feb - here in Australia there is a sort of Fit Feb thing where we are encouraged to ditch booze or unhealthy eating. I totally recommend it. My skin is clearer, eyes are brighter, tail is bushier etc etc

I may just weigh myself once a week as I find if I weigh myself too often it seems to fluctuate and I get all depressed. Boo.

Prinnie · 10/02/2010 13:48

Feeling highly virtuous as I just turned down a piece of toffee apple cake I was offered at a meeting!!! Hopefully off to the gym later as well

ClaudiaSchiffer · 12/02/2010 01:08

Hi all, has everyone given up? Or just hanging out waiting for the first weigh in?

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 12/02/2010 01:26

Claudia, how dare your husband describe you as Marjorie Whatsit if you're such a dainty little thing? Pffft to him, I say.

Right, well, I guess I'm in here too. I went down to 126lb (at 5'4") after my daughter was born, voracious little breastfeeder that she was.

Unfortunately I got into the habit of a big muffin for breakfast, huge double cut roll for lunch, sweets in the afternoon and wine in the evenings, and now we're mostly weaned I'm back up to 133lb. Okay, 135lb.

Sorry, I can't think in stones.

So 9lb off is exactly what I want to achieve.

It's almost lunchtime. I've eaten, errr, three biscuits and two coffees today.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 12/02/2010 05:54

He's a cheeky sod Tortoise . Are you American btw? All that talk of llbs??

Today I have been splendidly good eaten Museli and a banana - will have something proper soon - maybe a burger + salad with the kids.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 12/02/2010 06:20

No, I think in kgs, I was converting to lbs as less confusing for everyone else (can't quite make the leap to stones, but can think in both lbs and kgs).

So from 60kg to 57 kg, if that's any clearer.

Prinnie · 12/02/2010 08:41

Right peeps - it's WEIGH IN day!!!! Just got on the scales and I'm........ 8 stone 7 pounds still - but then I've had such a bad week due to circumstances that I'm actually pleased with this!

I've got a day off today so I'm going to do a massive gym session and be really good with snacks etc.

thatsnotmymonster · 12/02/2010 11:18

Hi everyone!!

You are all so tiny I feel like a huge giant!

I am 5'8" and was 13st6lb last wed and this morning I was...

...13st 2.5lb YAY I'm really pleased with that -3.5lbs so if I manage the same again then that's half a stone!

Though I want to lose quite a bit more than the rest of you- I want to get under 11.5st but my target for that is Mid July when we go on holiday with all the in-laws. It is certainly a good motivation!

Just having an apple and glass of water and will have a slimshake for lunch.

Prinnie · 12/02/2010 12:07

Congrats thatsnotmymonster - that's a great result!

thatsnotmymonster · 12/02/2010 12:52

Thanks Prinnie

Congrats for not gaining despite your bad week

Next weigh in Mon morning so I'll have to not over-induldge this weekend.

Prinnie · 12/02/2010 14:30

Yes that's why I like the Monday weigh in - it's slightly too soon really but a very good incentive not to go mad over the weekend!

eisbaer · 13/02/2010 14:27

weighed self this morning, am still 130 lbs, but haven't made any concrete steps really so amn't surprised nor disappointed.
So far today have had a piece of toast with vitalite and marmalade,a cup of tea and two coffees, a ham and tomato sandwich w/ vitalite and a piece of home made flapjack. So not that bad yet, bad flapjack slipped in there at the end, bah.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 13/02/2010 22:31

Right, where am I going wong?

I've been really good all week, no snacks, no junk, no booze, controlled my portions (mostly), eaten lots of fruit and veg, I've even run THREE times . . . and I still weigh exactly the bloody same.

Where am I going wrong? Should I just eat even less.

I am a steady 9st 1lb. I want to be 8st 7lb, by tomorrow.

Short of chopping an arm orf what should I be doing?

Prinnie · 14/02/2010 09:54

Ah Claudia - keep going! don't get disheartened, sometimes things just take a while to get going, maybe you will have a bigger loss this week?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 14/02/2010 20:39

Thanks Prinnie. Hopefully this week it will all just drop off. But I'm not confident.

I've just been out for a walk/slow run so hopefully more of that combined with teeny weeny amounts of food (ha!) will shift my lardy stomach.

Crumplet · 14/02/2010 20:59

Hello. Wish this was the triumphant weigh-in of OP, but sadly is the wobbly-bottomed skulking shame of the OP. Lost 0.8lb by Friday(hurrah)and have celebrated by gorging self on any saturated fat or high carb within chicken-winged-wobbly groping distance this w/e(boo). Blummph. Start again tomorrow. Sounds like you all doing well and lets get a bit more focussed next week. P.S. please observe my lack of having wild sex on Valentines night.. am hoping mojo will kick back in at 8stone7lb..

Realise that displaYS an unhealthy linking of self-worth/body-image/libido with weight - anyone else have that hardwired?! Grr. am failed feminist

OP posts:
tortoiseonthehalfshell · 15/02/2010 04:44

Ha! You are not failed feminist. Merely prey to societal messages of perfection etc. Also prone to Bridget Jonesese.

Okay. Considering myself starting today. Am 9st7. Would like to be 8st12 (am ignoring that many of you are already lighter than my goal).

This post is only to record weight in English!

Prinnie · 15/02/2010 17:55

Arghh good god, just fell foul of post work danger zone, eaten 1 lindor and half a naan bread! Grrr. Also put on .75 of a pound over w/e which is not surpising after an unexpected booze session on Saturday night. Only 8 weeks until Carribean holiday... (pre TTC so want to be super small in photos before motherhood ravages my flat stomach) no...I'm not normally this vain :S
