I really AM going to Low Carb this time...

And DH has promised to join me. But not until after our big night away without the kids next week. So lots of time to procrastinate plan ahead I've ordered India's book. And have an old copy of Atkins' upstairs.

I will need a sugar substitute I think. And, ahem, fibre. Are linseeds low carb? Can you eat them in induction? And I will need to plan my snackage.

And how to get through the first week or two weeks? What helped you not cave in at the first cravings or headaches? And did I read somewhere you can test your piss? Or is that not strictly necessary?

that thread has made my blood boil!

with any luck it will aid the weight loss

Hi Buda. Hope your evening out was good. I have'nt been brave enough to eat out yet.

sounds like you mean business Gibberish. What veg do you go for? I am veggie so always looking for ways to vary it.

Jacaqueen · 16/03/2010 20:06

Mad as a box of frogs that other thread!

I've just had a gammon steak with some roasted kale. The kale was fantastic all crunchy and salty. mmmmmmmm

Frazzled, I have lots of stirfries - mixed peppers, courgettes, mushrooms, beansprouts, a little grated carrot, brocolli etc. Also love, love doing roasted veg in the oven - onions and all the above. So gorgeous!

I have a George Foreman grill and mushrooms cook beautifully in it. I spread them with soft cheese when they are done.

Had a curry tonight without the rice. Just loaded up on stifried peppers, mushrooms and a courgette. I always used to get so bloated with rice and feel much better without it.

Funny how you become so dependent upon rice and pasta when you can have a filling meal without it!

Hi , had a blowout on mothers day weekend and am still waiting to get back into ketosis.
Takes me ages but I have lost the 1.5 lbs I put on.

Jacaqueen-how do you do the roasted kale it sounds delicious.

I keep my low carbing quiet as others are mostly ignorant about it and assume all sorts of ridiculous stuff.

gibbberish · 17/03/2010 08:43

Good going ggirl. Losing again after putting on is hard psychologically I feel. So much easier to feel a failure and give up.

Feeling good so far. Got a busy few days as am working in the office every day for the rest of the week. As soon as I finish on Friday am flying to England. So need to get the house done and packing for myself and the girls tonight.

Not sure what am going to eat today. Think I will have a chicken salad for lunch tho.

Have a good day y'all!

Moving to this diet thread if you don't mind ladies, too confusing reading about about people avoiding butter and eating rice cakes yuk!

I love low carb

Buda · 17/03/2010 11:09

Well what a shitty start! 'Accidentally' and mindlessly ate two custard creams while waiting for kettle to boil yesterday afternoon. Then when we went out last night I didn't stick to plan and add bread, wine and noodles.

Figured out why this morning when I woke up with the period from hell. Haven't had one for months. Went back to bed with painkillers after DS went to school and when I got up I really wanted toast. So had some.

Starting again tomorrow.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. sss

gibbberish · 17/03/2010 17:09

Poor SS and Buda. Hope you are both feeling a bit better tomorrow.

Hello alouise. Have you low carbed before? Needing lots of tips.

Had a good few days really. Except dh is getting us all a takeaway tonight. Need to go google which takeaway meal has the lowest carb content. Won't have rice with it obv.

Off to pack clothes for the weekend.

Well after a couple of weeks of being stuck at 11st 3lbs ... I was back down to 11st 2lbs this morning.

Despite the slow weightloss my clothes are starting to feel really baggy. I've noticed I'm having to 'itch' my jeans up every 5 minutes and I seem to have a lot of room in them around the bum and thighs.

Could I be heading for a size 10 for the first time in my life?

Have been doing a hell of a lot of exercise though, I think I'm becomming slightly obsessed

Alouiseg · 18/03/2010 10:23

Oh i love that feeling when your clothes get looser. Can't wait for it.

Gibberish, i have low carbed before, i lost over 2 stone but the end of last year saw my 40th birthday followed by Christmas and a great deal of the f*ck it factor which meant i crept up a stone. I have firmly smacked myself on the wrist and have been virtuous since saturday and have lost 4.5 pounds .

gibbberish · 18/03/2010 13:53

Wow 4.5lbs is great! Don't think I've lost that much since Saturday.

Enchilada, that size 10 seems inevitable!

Have had a stressful morning in the office this morning - having to cope all on my own as dh gone away on business and it has been really busy. But resisted stress-induced snacking. Even resisted the box of teacakes dh has stored away!

Mitchell81 · 18/03/2010 14:02

Oh I can't wait to be a 10/12 again. I am nearly Half way until my goal weight and just about squeezing into a size 14. I am finding it alright this time just keeping my goal in mind and if I have a cheat with too many carbs, just reduce carb amount the next day or two.

I lost 4 stone 5 years ago after having DD but then fell pregnant again twice and it crept back on. Decided no more babies and will stay thin I blame my children

Making burgers for dinner with salad. (Mince, onion, little bit of flour or stuffing mix, 2 eggs, spices and just cook in the oven) Only bad carbs are the flour or stuffing mix, but they are delicious and low enough.

Tortington · 18/03/2010 15:35

hiya all,
not been here all week i don't think, just marking my place.

well done on the weight losses

gibbberish · 18/03/2010 18:56
