As promised here is the thread. Let's psyche ourselves up to do it this time.

Let's weigh next week. I think SL did the lovely chart last time but fear she may actually have lost her weight for good, so perhaps we can just post weights, losses, recipes etc.

Great to see you, my fellow porkers . Nice to know I am not the only one still fat.

hey sybs! I am joining you, I lost some weight at WW last time, but have probably put some (all?) of it back on!!!

However, I have kept up with the running and went for a 3 mile run today. Its been a while and it nearly killed me but I feel sooo much better now.

wonder who else will join us?

Kayzr · 01/01/2010 19:56

I am joining you!!! I am doing WW again and I'm going to take up running.

I am 15st 2lbs [cries wildly] and I need to lose about 5st of it. I would like to be a size 10 again so I need to lose enough to be there. All to put it back on when having DC3 probably.

I am determined to do it this time as I am sick of feeling like this.

snorris · 01/01/2010 20:50

Charming!!

Can I join you too? I've managed to lose 2 1/2 stone with SW since March but seem to have got into a bit of a rut. I don't have a target as such but reckon at least another stone to go, probably two. I decide I didn't want be fat and 40, so counting down to September . No real exercising for me at the mo, when the really light evenings are here I'll be able to get out on my pony. Still bf-ing dd5 and the others got a Wii for christmas so I'm hoping that will keep the worst off.

I have just signed up to do this I think I might be a little bit mad but I'll give it a go!!

LadyThompson · 02/01/2010 21:20

Just back from London. I'm in! Feeling very positive as well (it won't last)...

TheInvisibleHand · 02/01/2010 22:42

OK, here I am. Don't even have scales in the house yet, but must do something, its getting a bit silly.

waitinggirl · 03/01/2010 11:00

i'm back and i'm in, ladies! will weigh myself on weds, but around 14 stone and want to lose 2 stone (although will be pathetically happy at 1.5). also want to do running (went from nothing to doing a couple of 10k runs (with a bit of walking) before getting married when i got down to my lowest of 11stone 11 lbs). haven't exercised for longer than i care to mention. yay!

daisydora · 03/01/2010 16:28

Urghhh, I weighed myself at mums today and after losing about a stone and a half at WW I have put about 10lb of it back on! Anyway, I donned trainers and went for a run. Felt great when i got back but then mum declared she had made bacon sandwiches for lunch....well it would have been just plain rude to have not eaten it

What day are we weighing in on? I'm hoping a lose a couple of pound so I won't be quite as embarrassed

LadyThompson · 03/01/2010 16:34

Right, I don't want to get weighed on a Monday, it's just too much of a downer. However, I do think that whichever day we choose we must vow to stick to it just as if we were at WW, and faithfully weigh in every week

WG suggested Wednesday, that is fine by me.

I wonder if Summer will send the old spreadsheet over? It was very whizzy and clever. She won't need it any more for herself, she was nice and slim in the summer when I saw her last. Also, I want to work in kg as stones just upset me too much. I fluctuate between 79 and 81kg and I don't want to know what it is in imperial...as it will just bring me down. I would settle for late 60s so have roughly 12kg to lose (which is about 2 stone).

Well done on the run, Daisy.

daisydora · 03/01/2010 17:25

Wednesday sounds good!

My mum has the DC's while I work on Weds, so I can get weighed when I pick them up...well either that or I could purchase some scales but then I might get a bit OTT with them!!

sybilfaulty · 03/01/2010 17:35

Wed it is! I am probably going to organised fatties on a Tues now, but can post the horrors on a Wed. I lost nearly 2st with WW last year, and reckon to have put at least 7lb back unfortunately. All my clothes are tight.

I am actually going to start being more disciplined from tomorrow and my first day back at work. I have not looked at what I am teaching since I last taught it at the end of Nov. Can't remember anything. Hope it hasn't changed since then.

Well done on the run Daisy.

Wednesday is good with me too!

Veggiemummy · 04/01/2010 09:15

Weds is great for me. I have just started running again after doing nothing since that triathlon. I got down to 71.5kg with the tri and quite astoundingly I have not put on anything since I stopped training and coming over here. Considering the amount of cheese sugar and general carbs/fats I have been consuming over here I am quite proud of myself for not piling on some KGs with Christmas and being in a new country (well I have to try the local cuisine). However, I think part of the non weight gain might be due to DS2 having a gastro bug when we first got here and upping his feeds and well I haven't been discouraging him to have 2 feeds during the day and bedtime etc. I know that's naughty but it's good for him, all those omegas etc and well it's the only time in my life the weight will come off my bum & hips first! But also I have now started cycling DS1 to school and everywhere else we need to go so I'm hoping that will help get some off in a non feeding way.

Right now because I'm cheating with the feeding and I'm cycling I'm going to give myself a big target. My previous goal was 65kg but my pre DS1 weight was 63kg so I think I'd like that. I would love to be 60kg again but that was severe fulltime training raceweight and I just don't want to spend the time on that and it might get a bit dispiriting if I'm a longway off it. In the near future I'm really wanting to be under 70kg because that will mean I'm officially not overweight anymore for my height.

I'm going to do calorie control like you guys with WW but I'll use my ShapeUp thing on my itouch.

Kayzr · 04/01/2010 09:21

I have just done my exercise DVD and I feel like I might die!!

Veggie, my pre DS1 pregnancy weight was 55kg. But looking back now I do think I was too thin. Especially some of my wedding pictures. I just would like to be a size 10 again or even a 12 would be nice.

LadyThompson · 04/01/2010 10:11

It's strange Veggie, you are the same height as me aren't you? (168cm/5'6") but I look emaciated at 60kg (which I was for ages) and look nicely slim at 65kg. But would definitely settle for anything under 70kg (and probably start trying to conceive DC2)

Veggiemummy · 04/01/2010 17:28

It was my race weight Lady so was swimming, cycling, running and doing weight training. I was muscular and looking back now quite skinny. But do you know at the time I swore I could see fat on my hips...pah if only I knew. I loved being that weight but more because of how fit I was and how light I felt racing. I found though if I dropped any lower than 60kg I got sick quite easily so it was a fine balance. I thin 65kg is a good weight I got down there after DS1 for a short time and quite liked that weight.

Well day 1 is off to a bad start I cycled to DS1's school and back twice but was tempted by the Oliebollen man (they are called Dutch donuts in English, like donuts but with about 100% more fat I think). But I ate a healthy quinoa pilaf at lunch with DS2 so that kind of helps...no it doesn't.

Well done on the workout Kayz.

sybilfaulty · 05/01/2010 07:00

Well done on the workout Kayz.

It's hard being good in the cold isn't it? I want carbs and lard.

Weight - not good with kg but reckon I would be super skinny at 11st (which I think is 70kg) and probably not maintaintable. I'll try for 11st 7 and see how it goes. I am 5ft 8 though so quite spread out.

OP posts:
daisydora · 05/01/2010 17:12

Sybs we are the same height! I'm with you, about 11 stone would be great for me, but I wonder how long I would be able to maintain it for. My lowest was 10 stone, but I looked very thin, I had a very boney neck and shoulders, not a great look tbh

I was already to go for another run today but the snow has blighted my attempts!!

Kayzr · 05/01/2010 19:02

I am the same height as Syb and Daisy. I would like to be a size 10 again so will just keep going until I reach a weight that means I am a size 10.

sybilfaulty · 06/01/2010 07:42

Am 12st 9. How vile. Got down to 11st 13 with WW last year but clearly have backslid a bit.

Oh well, a snowy walk to school will sort me out .

Good luck everyone

Kayzr · 06/01/2010 08:15

I am 15st 1lb. Offically the fattest person on here and probably the largest person on Mumsnet.

TheInvisibleHand · 06/01/2010 10:28

OK - the terrible number is 86.5 kg. Officially more than I have ever weighed possibly even than when pg with DD. And I have never been dainty. Urgh. Have kind of been ignoring it in an if I don't think about it it will go away sort of way, but don't really thing that's working...

LadyThompson · 06/01/2010 11:09

Morning girls. I'm 80.1kg. I am going to put it in imperial as well just to cheer up Syb - it's 12st6. Ulp.

Kayz, you are the youngest on here by a country mile so however much weight any of us lose you will still be young and lovely. Chin(s) up girls, we can do it! Do whatever you can to be lighter next Wednesday, even if it's only a tiny bit! It all adds up and accumulates.

I have seen a stepper in Argos and it's tiny and only £24.99. Would be useful today - we have about one and a half feet of snow.

Ok, to lose weight this week I am going to:

drink diet cuppa soup and diet hot chocolate when I feel like picking, or eat raw veg;

try hard to avoid alcohol;

avoid carbs except for breakfast;

do one session of exercise every day.

sybilfaulty · 06/01/2010 15:05

Have walked to school, thence to coffee shop, back to school, to pub for lunch, to shoe shop, home. I should have put my pedo on but I reckon about 5 miles in the snow. Pub lunch was the tiniest piece of salmon and 2 small slices of bread (less than the size of a small roll). Diet coke. Coffee.

Kayz, LadyT is right, you are still young and lovely, unlike the rest of the old gimmers.

Oh, phone - back in a sec!
